The hotel is of reasonable standard. Good ac, comfortable and spacious rooms, clean, nice balcony. But the eco cultural area, the village, the surroundings is AMAZING. Swimmingpool, breakfast, the food at the restaurants, friendlines and service level is all in upper class. Its just stunningly beautiful, a hidden gem.
I spent a week here. The first thing you notice is the beauty of the property. The staff is warm and helpful and quite a few of them speak excellent English. The room I had was on the 7th Floor with a balcony and a view of the river and the large swimming pool. My room was on the large side with a exceptionally sizable walk in shower. The food in the restaurant is quite good, but if you get a staff member who's English isn't very strong, you may get something you didn't order. That being said, your unintended meal is probably something that you cannot help to want to eat. The breakfast buffet is terrific featuring a large selection and farm fresh eggs. My one criticism here is a couple of my team members ordered the hamburger and were surprised to be served a single silver dollar sized serving and three potato wedges. Room service is incredibly fast. Probably the fastest service I ever experienced. My biggest problem was pest control. I was constantly swatting tiny ants that crawled over me while I tried to sleep. On the other bed I did not use I observed several crawling around the top of the bedspread. They also made it in my clothing and unfortunately, into my suitcase. Despite this, I would have no problem recommending this property to those who are in this area of Thailand.
I think of this place as a resort, not a hotel. It is large with parks, playgrounds for kids, various workshops, small lake and elephants! Often cater to large tour group. I stayed here for 2 nights, last year, during my company seminar. The building and the rooms are quite old, but there are many good points. Most staffs are cheerful and helpful. The hotel has workshops where staffs regularly perform many interesting cultural activities. Guests can learn about Thai ways of life, practice, and keep the products made as their souvenirs. The hotel supports local communities through employment, buying fruit and foods. It's not a wow beautiful hotel, but you'll get good experience with local touch at a fair price.
Love the whole area of the resort! It was previously a rose garden and it changes it names to Sampran Riverside. Located right next to a beautiful river. You won’t be bored staying at this resort as it’s filled up with various activity and events such as moulding clay elephant, learning basic muay thai and to traditional dance and etc. Perfect for the whole family and for children who wants to understand and learn more about the Thai culture. There is a farmers market nearby as well. Room is just basic and has a great view of the river and the beautiful garden, You will be hanging out door in their garden than in the room. Swimming pool is beautiful. I love to hang out at the hammock right beside the river. Plenty of restaurants, most of it are awesome as the serve various kinds of food and buffet. Just stay in the resort you don’t have to get out from there. Great place to learn culture.
I stayed a night at Sampran Riverside and wished I had at least 2-3 nights to soak in this oasis of calm. It's about an hour to 90 mins from Bangkok central, and well worth the journey. It's a peaceful place where you can truly take time out and relax with nature. I love the eco-tourism aspects and the consciousness the resort takes in ensuring sustainability in its operations. I really enjoyed the Sookjai Organic Farm tour, which supplies the vegetables and spices the resort uses - getting there is a treat because you get to row a boat across if the tide allows! I also loved the private cooking lessons and the Spa sessions - the traditional thai massages were heavenly. For couples, I would highly recommend staying in the Hut. As I had to leave very early the next morning for the airport - the staff arranged a breakfast box and a taxi for me. I really appreciate the warm hospitality and thoughtfulness in making this one of my best Thai experiences!
I stayed 5 days for professional reasons in this hotel. Very calm, next to a river with a nice swimming pool. The food was very good and the staff ready to help whenever necessary. The park is quite big and allows to go running in the morning.
I stayed here for business in February with 3 colleagues. While the hotel can't compare to the luxury of Bangkok, it is clean, quiet and has a solid restaurant. We had a chance to use the pool and spa. The beds were comfortable and there is an iron to get clothes ready for work, but if you want the iron you'll have to call the front desk. The bathroom offers both a shower stall and bathtub. In the shower the shower head is aimed down and it difficult for a taller person to us. 😊 My room had a view of the pool and the river. It was very peaceful.
The rooms are OK a bit old but clean; however, there are two type of rooms (Gardens views and river views). I choose to book 3 rooms on river views side. I was place at the 4 floor where there is zero river view from here. And when I ask for the views that I pay extra for the help desk didn't help much.
The Sampran is a masterpiece, famous across Thailand it grew from a simple rose garden to a sprawling eco/cultural destination. Home to a 15 acre organic farm and lush gardens it's a blissful escape from the concrete jungle. Admittedly we stayed in one of the antique teak houses which will be a much different experience from the main building - wholeheartedly recommended! Explore the grounds, sample the amazing organic food and tour the farm- it's worth it! Go on a weekend and sample the amazing organic farmers market if you can- the food stalls are world class. Will definitely be back!
Nothing much to do here if you do not sign up for the activities. Hotel is quiet and it's good to recharge. The spa is only managed by 2 beauty therapists and it's advisable to book one day before you head down. Hotel guests get 10% discount. If you love birds, you will hear them sing in the morning. Cafe food at the hotel serves organic food. Breakfast is great. You can request for toothbrush or an electric kettle if you need one as they are not standard items issued to each room. Best to stay here not more than 2 days as you will get bored after that. Do tour around the compound but do spray on some insect repellant.
