My husband and I loved staying here, we would definitely recommend to others. The rooms were very tidy and comfortable! Staff were friendly and helpful also, a little bit further out of the action but still reasonably located!
The Holiday Inn in Salzburg is a medium sized, smart, modern hotel that offers very good accommodation and service at very reasonable prices. The hotel is very easy to reach from Salzburg airport, we just took one bus to Sterneckstrasse and it stopped almost outside the hotel. Check-in was friendly and efficient and despite arriving 5 hours before the official check in time one room was all ready, so we were able to put our luggage straight into our room before heading off to do some sightseeing. Even if the room hadn’t been ready the hotel would have minded our luggage for us. We booked two rooms that were next door to each other. They were slightly different to each other, but both were very clean, a good size, well-furnished and equipped with all one might expect from a hotel of this class including a safe and a Nespresso machine in addition to a mini bar, mineral water and a kettle (plus tea & coffee). Both rooms had adjoining private balconies – although these didn’t have particularly interesting views they would still be pleasant to sit out on in warm weather. Everything in the rooms was in good working order. The room had air conditioning and free Wi-Fi is available. The hotel was very quiet, our bed was comfortable and we both slept very well. The bathroom was a good size, and like the bedroom, was very clean and well equipped. The hotel is not located in the centre of the city but it only took about 15 -20 minutes to walk into the main town, alternatively one can take the bus which stops near the entrance. Like the rest of Salzburg, the streets around the hotel seem clean and safe. The hotel has a car park and is situated on what seems to be a fairly main road, but there didn’t seem to be much traffic so I doubt that noise would be a particular problem if one’s bedroom overlooked the street. We had breakfast at the hotel and we were all impressed with the wide range of tasty, well cooked, buffet items available. Breakfast is served in a light, airy, spacious, restaurant and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food. All the staff we encountered were pleasant, efficient and spoke English well. The hotel also has a smallish bar/ lounge area where we had drinks one evening which was a pleasant and comfortable way to round off a day’s sightseeing. Check -out was handled efficiently and speedily and we were able to leave our luggage in the hotel's safekeeping for a while to do some last minute sightseeing before flying back home. Overall, this was an excellent stay and if I were to visit Salzburg again I would definitely consider returning to this hotel.
The Holiday Inn Salzburg is a basic motel style lodging. It is a little far from where the action is. It is, however, a walking distance from public transportation to help you reach City Center. It does have a parking lot if you are using your car. And the receptionist is glad to call you a taxi should you need one. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful.
We stayed here for one night recently and were really disappointed. The location is good, and the staff was nice. But, the ended up putting us in the wrong room, our a/c didn't work, the room was extremely hot, and the street was super noisy from our corner room.
Stayed here for 3 nights! Absolutely great. Clean and comfortable, staff very helpful and friendly. Ideal location, we caught the number 2 bus everyday and even took it to the airport. Salzburg is beautiful and the holiday inn was an ideal place to rest our weary feet!! Would definitely recommend and would definitely return
Stayed here when visting Salzburg for Xmas Markets. It was a little out they way, but only a 15 in walk from the city centre. It was ideal for us, as we visited a Krampus Run which was 15 mins towards outer edge of city. Rooms of decent size, clean, good facilities with views overlooking mountains. Breakfast Buffet was excellent and the bar was also very nice (and cheap). Would reccommend .
This hotel is a typical chain hotel with nice clean rooms which are comfortable. However, it's location is quite a way from the town (15 minute walk), which might be OK in summer but in winter is not too good. There is also a main road outside which has trams on it and therefore makes the rooms a little noisy. On the plus side the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is fine. On the negative the wifi is not very good and the service in the bar is slow. On arrival we asked about the restaurant and were told the opening hours but when we went the next night to eat the restaurant was closed, as it was the following night. This meant getting dressed for outside snow and searching for somewhere to eat.
stayed here fr 2 nights, public transport is within walking distance very close to the hotel, walk to the old town would be 15 mins.rooms nice n clean with shared balcony.staff at the reception were polite n helpful.
Me and my two sons travel to Salzburg in February. I picked the Holiday Inn even though it was a little more expensive than some other hotels in the area. I made a wise choice, the hotel was clean and modern and the staff was great. We checked in with Anika she was great, friendly and professional. Nice to see a smiling face after a long day when everyone seemed so miserable. I would recommend this hotel!
We stayed in the Holiday Inn Salzburg during a ski-trip to Kaprun. Overall we had a positive experience, with warm and welcoming personnel and clean room. It has also an underground parking. Worth a visit should you need to sleep over in Salzburg, although not an inexpensive place.
