The hotel is located near the Train Station and the Bus Depot so location is ideal! There are limited fast food and restaurants around that include a Starbucks, Burger King and And Gyro place. The well-stocked and inexpensive grocery store is located within the train station all within a 2 minute walk! As far as the hotel goes, the staff was pleasant and accommodating. This is a basic hotel with clean rooms similar to a Motel 6, Red Rood Inn or a Days Inn! A 4*hotel, it is not! The room is tiny with a 19" TV, a desk, chair and 2 twin beds pushed against the wall of the small room to make it a king size! There is no iron or ironing board, the 2 safes did not work, you must leave your key In The switch for the lights to work! There was a small locked refrigerator with key with 2 water bottles! However your key is. Not needed to operate the elevator to get to various floors so open to the public - maybe for the restaurant on the 15th floor! Not a real feel of "safety"! There is no shampoo/conditioner, soap other than the liquid soap bottle attached to the wall by the sink and one attached in the shower. It was fine for a one night stay! There is a nice buffet breakfast included!

Its the worst hotel I have ever seen. Its definately not 4 star and hardly can be rated 3 star. Looks like a cheap motel, but the worst thing is the room. Its a nightmare - very very small room with dirty walls all around like somebody was deliberately kicking it. Its just awful!!!The area around the hotel is also terrible and the view is to the construction and train rails. We have booked this hotel just because of the rating on We came to Salzburg on honeymoon and its definate NOT!!! the place to stay. We asked for another room but girls at the reception said that the other rooms are older and even worse than the one we got. I must admit the receptionists were very nice and polite. The feel of the room is that you want to run away from this place. Instead of enjoying our holiday we had to go to the downtown to look for another place to stay. Luckily we found a very nice hotel with the beautiful old town location and moved immediately. But... Trend hotel offered no excuse, no refund for this terrible dirty room- they charged us 2 nights (although we only kept our luggage in the room for 3 hours) saying that we booked with nonrefundable rate. Very dissappointing!

The best thing about this hotel is it's location, right next to the main Railway and Bus Stations. The hotel itself is clean, modern, and upmarket; however, I upgraded to an Executive Room from a Classic, and was a little disappointed to find that the allocated room was not as large as I would have expected, there was no shampoo/conditioner, and no Tea/coffee making facility. Much has been said about the views from the 15th floor restaurant, and I agree with these positives. I had an unexpected problem which involved the management and special requests, all of which were attended to cheerfully and without additional costs. There are numerous fast food and mini and super marts close by, and post office facilities near. There is an advantage that the hotel is one of the highest buildings in Salzburg and a tremendous photo facility at this stage, but I notice construction nearby which may interrupt some of the all round view. I would definitely stay here again, due to it's location and 'newness'.

Located outside the main rail station of Salzburg, this hotel provides unique customer's experience through quality of stay. The room located on higher floor had a very beautiful view. Staff were professional and knowledgeable.

We spent 2 nights in this hotel. Excellent location, helpful staff and nice sized rooms. They have a gorgeous restaurant on the top floor with panoramic views of Salzburg where they serve breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Stayed 3 nights at this hotel between 22/05 - 25/05/2017, Good location, close to railway & bus stations, 20 minutes walk to the famous Mirabell Palace & Gardens & Historic Centre of the City of Salzburg, Mozart's Birthplace etc. Clean, Bright and Large room. Helpful front desk staffs. Buffet breakfast, would recommend friends to stay here.

This Hotel is just opposite Salzburg Railway Station. The staff at the reception are extremely cheerful and helpful. Since we were early, the staff took charge of the luggage and made us fell comfortable. The restaurant on the top floor offers scenic view of Salzburg; and the breakfast is good.

Stayed for 3 nights at this property in May 2017. We were a family with kids, and the rooms were made with the extra bed prior to arrival. The rooms were spacious, the service efficient and the location convenient, with both the main bus and train station of Salzburg virtually a minute away by foot. We also tried the breakfast, which was good. Overall would recommend, especially if you get a good deal on the hotel.

This hotel is well located for seeing Salzburg. It overlooks a large Square and is right next to the main train station and the city bus depot where you can easily trip into the town centre within minutes. For more robust souls, it is also easily within walking distance of the centre, although locals seemed to be surprised that you might want to do that. One reason, of course, would be to feel the atmosphere of the locality and see the area streets up close. While we stayed there, the hotel was undergoing some renovations to its facade. This was a good thing as the hotel does need some refreshing, and the external work did not in any way impact on services or facilities within the hotel. The Europa is presented as a 4 star hotel, but it certainly does not measure up to that standard in terms of what one would expect from that rating. Room accommodation is comfortable but basic with only minimal facilities. No coffee/tea maker is provided, which is a disappointment - although I found later that this can be had from the front desk on request, if you are gifted that is with mind-reading abilities to know this. If you feel you might want to enjoy some movies or TV shows during your stay, best bring a Tablet or iPad as the selection of available stations on the HD TV set is very limited. On the plus side, the wifi is very good, and the hotel is to be commended for not following the mean strategies of some hotels that want to charge for what has become an essential and basic service. In general terms, one can give the unadorned, bare feeling of the bedroom accommodation a pass mark. Standards of service and cleanliness are impeccable, and it will serve your needs adequately during your stay without ever deceiving you into believing that you are cosseted in opulent luxury. The real star turn at the Europa is its dining room which is situated on the top floor. Breakfast here is a real pleasure with some beautiful vistas to enthrall you while you savour your croissants. And the breakfast here is certainly excellent with a wide variety of hot and cold food to tempt you - all enticingly presented in buffet style. I know it's a cliché, but you do get the proof here that breakfast makes a great start to your day. So if you are on a package stay, I would recommend having it included. At night, this area also becomes the hotel's fine dining room, capitalising I expect on the nighttime panoramic views. Reportedly, the cuisine is very good even if the menu is limited. One problem did present itself however. The restaurant seems to have problem of reliably catering for would-be diners. En route on one occasion to the dining room in expectation of an evening meal, another couple advised us that the staff had gently tried to dissuade them from dining there due to some vague problem or another. Surprised but prepared, we persevered and continued on towards the dining room. On seeing us arrive, the maitre d' almost went visibly weak, and as we had been warned, apologetically suggested that they would be unable to cater for us. This was in a dining room with only a handful of diners and numerous empty tables. I don't quite know what the problem was, but I would hasten to add that the maitre d' seemed genuinely regretful and was professional, pleasant and polite towards us. This brings me swiftly to another good point about the Europa …. and that is the available dining alternatives nearby. Quite a few options are available in the surrounding area, but chief among these and my big recommendation, is a restaurant called Restaurant Johann which is part of the Central Train Station complex and just across the Square from the hotel.. This had a delightful selection of dishes, savoury food and on the night we were there, a wonderful atmosphere with a singing group that played pleasantly as a backdrop to our meal without dominating us with excessive amplification. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to explain the fine details of all the available meal choices to us. Plate portions are on the reasonable size, but not large. For younger people and children, fast-food options in the area of the Square include McDonalds and Burger King. Guests of the hotel who need to pick up some everyday items will find a well-stocked supermarket at the opposite end of the Square. Incidentally, the ambiance of the Square changes somewhat at night with many young men who are new arrivals hanging around in groups near the the entrance to the shopping mall and the train station. I can only describe the atmosphere as strange. As you feel for reassurance for the location of your wallet, you at the same time feel a sense of gratitude that Austria along with other countries in Europe know just what is needed at this moment to enrich the gilded tapestry of our lives. Nevertheless, the area does feel safe overall, either because of the prevailing moral code among the loitering groups - or the armed police. Back to the hotel. Despite the rather functional offering that is The Europa, we would stay here again. The location is good, they are reasonably priced, that wonderful breakfast, and even more so - one of their best assets - the ever helpful and friendly staff. That's enough goodwill in the bank for a return visit, I think. One parting tip …. go to the Tabac shop located in the station to buy a travel ticket for your trips around Salzburg. For €3.70 you get 24 hour travel on the local transport services for the area in and around Salzburg. You can also buy tickets from the machines located at the bus terminus, but the prices may be slightly dearer compared to the Tabac.

We stayed here at the beginning of March and yes, it is quite a basic hotel, the room décor is a bit tired and it is probably more suited to business people than tourists BUT it is very convenient, comfortable without the frills and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more friendly to us. It's right beside the station and there is a tourist office with very helpful staff located inside the station. Lots of buses too if you don't feel like footing it. Breakfast was very good. We also had lunch in the restaurant which was very enjoyable. I would have no hesitation in recommending it.
