Clean, modern hotel that is close to the rail station. Many services and restaurants close by. As well, It isn’t too far from the old city. The rooftop restaurant offers a view of the old city with mountains in the background.
The hotel overlooked the railway station and bus terminal which was great for travelling by train or FlixBus between major cities as we did both. This hotel was not right in the major shopping or sightseeing areas but was ideal for connection with the old town which took 20 minute by walk one way. Street lights were adequate and it was safe to do so late at night. More conveniently, there were stops for many buses and trams accessing the centre from outside the hotel. The hotel occupied a high rise modern block with reception on the ground floor and restaurant on the top floor. A new high rise hotel was under construction in the vicinity. All floors were served by three spacious lifts. Members of staff were professional and friendly. The check-in was fast, and questions from guests were adequately answered and their needs were promptly satisfied. All rooms had windows facing the old city and views were not obstructed for upper floors. We did not hear any noise from the train station and streets below with all windows closed. The room was very spacious and well equipped, including fridge, safe, writing table etc. The stay was comfortable. The en-suite was equipped with a shower in the bath. Breakfast was served on the top floor which offered great views in all directions across Salzburg. Breakfast selection was excellent with a good variety from cereal to cooked. Plenty of good restaurants within 10 minutes walk. Simply put, it was a good quality hotel, in a good location with friendly staff.
I booked this hotel because we were moving on to Vienna as our second stop by train and this hotel is next to the railway station and also on the number 2 bus route from the airport (only €4 per person). Whilst this hotel isn’t a ‘character’ building, it suited us very much: very clean rooms, plentiful buffet breakfast served on the 13th floor with great views over the city and mountains; friendly team members (thanks to Agnes in the bar who was absolutely lovely); 15 minutes’ walk from the old centre. I thought it great value for money and was perfect for taking the train with heavy bags because it’s literally 100m away. Unlike a lot of cities, the area around the station isn’t seedy and you can find some nice cafes nearby. I would recommend this place to stay if you’re looking for somewhere reliable and clean. They even give you a voucher for a free drink in their bar which you can take anytime during your stay. A very good choice!
The magnificent Baroque city is world famous for its great music tradition. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart spent his childhood and youth there, the town seems to reverberate with his work. On our leisurely walking tour we pass through Getreidegasse where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in 1756. After visiting the cathedral you are free to enjoy a break at one of the coffee houses or have lunch at one of the local restaurants. In the afternoon you are welcome to book an optional Sound-of-Music-tour (approx.. 4 hours). An optional concert can be booked for the evening. Salzburg solina tours
Room was very nice and the location was perfect, about a 20 minute stroll to the old town. Beds were comfy and nice bathroom. The view was lovely from the 13th floor. Restaurant was nice with a nice view also. Things to improve or look at: - kettle or iron would be nice, or even provide on request. - the room temperature was very hot despite turning the heater off etc. - complimentary drink if you order wine it was 2 mouthfuls if that. Overall though I would stay again, but the little things do help and will hopefully help.
Had booked a disabled room through the travel agent but was not available on our arrival. Got one eventually but the tiles in the bathroom were cracked and were a Health and safety issue. The location was not good with lots of street drinkers in the area. Breakfast meals were always cold and evening meal choices were limited and not appealing. No hotel lounge facilities. No tea/coffee facilities in the room. No iron. A very poor experience
Knowing Salzburg, we wanted a good quality hotel near to the railway station/bus terminal and the Trend Hotel Europa ticked all the boxes, with the bonus of getting it at an excellent price via one of the online hotel sites. The hotel literally overlooks the railway station and bus terminal (great for the airport bus or travelling on by train as we were), but it's also ideal for the city with the old town about a 20 minute walk but more conveniently, there are lots of buses/trams accessing the centre from outside the hotel. The hotel itself is a high rise modern block with reception and bar on the ground floor and restaurant on the top (floor 15), all floors accessed by 3 efficient lifts. Reception staff were friendly and spoke excellent English and the check-in was quick, however as we were early our room wasn't ready so our luggage was restored. On our return we were allocated room 706. All rooms face towards the old city (views can be obstructed by new constructions or lower levels), however the room was very spacious and well equipped, fridge, safe, writing table etc. The bed was a large double (typical Austrian style) and was extremely comfortable, we had an excellent night sleep. The en-suite was equipped with a shower in the bath, however take care the part screen doesn't deflect all the water. The room was in good decorative order and it would be fair to say it was of a good standard, we certainly had no complaints. Breakfast was served on the top floor which gives you great views in all directions across Salzburg. Breakfast itself was very good with a good variety from cereal to cooked. In summary, this is a good quality hotel, in a good location with friendly staff. Also with a bit of keyboard work it can be found at a reasonable price and is recommended for a visit to beautiful Salzburg! A tip if visiting Salzburg, use the excellent Salzburg card, it's great value!
Nice hotel, located in the area just outside the station. About 15 minutes walk to the main sights. Staff were friendly and welcoming at check in. I was given an upgrade to a room on the 13th floor which was much appreciated. Room very comfortable, with great views towards the castle (unfortunately though a building site is obscuring the view at the moment!). Breakfast was 16 Euros extra - gave it a go and was very good. Lots of choice and some healthy options too. Would happily stay here again.
Hotels in Salzburg are usually overpriced and seldom offer amenities in a sensible relation to the price you pay - that is my experience. The Hotel Europe directly at the main station is not cheap, but an ok option. Had a double as a single, for a solo traveller the room was spacious enough. Room clean, beds ok, bath modern. AC and heating in good working order and not noisy. On the 12th floor spectacular views of the sunset over the city. Friendly staff. Didn't have any breakfast, which was overpriced, and the adjacent main station offers many options.
Me and my daughter stayed at This hotel for Xmas and absolutely loved it! The hotel staff were helpful! We especially enjoyed our daily breakfast at the Panorama Restaurant! Sven and Tserin were very pleasant and welcoming staff! Tserin remembered to bring soy milk for my daughter to our table every day that she saw us for breakfast! That was so special and nice!! We want to thank her and the hotel and restaurant staff!! Definitely will recommend to our family and friends!! Asel
