Comfort Suites Downtown Sacramento

This hotel is the newest in the cluster of hotels and motels on Jibboom Street. Unlike most of the hotels in this area, it has interior hallways, a major advantage from the standpoint of both noise and security. Our room was spacious and clean. There is short half wall that provides slight separation between the sitting area and the rest of the room, but I'd hardly describe it as a "suite." Furnishings include a desk, a small sofa bed that was quite uncomfortable to sit upon, a coffee table, dresser and two nightstands. Lighting was excellent for reading throughout the room. There was a medium size refrigerator without an apparent temperature control and a plain, small and somewhat battered microwave. The bed was comfy, and was supplied with both soft and firmer pillows. Everything worked. The breakfast buffet included scrambled eggs (the real thing), sausage, a selection of breads including English muffins, apple and orange juices, several yogurts, hard boiled eggs, and several cereals with a choice of whole or 2% milk (wouldn't non-fat or 1% milk be a better alternative?). There was a waffle maker; fresh fruits included apples and oranges, but no bananas. An attendant kept the tables clean and the buffet well stocked. There is a small exercise room and a small outdoor pool. Service at the front desk was prompt and professional. Drawbacks: noise from highway 5 was annoying as late as 10 PM (although it was minimal by 11 PM), there was no in-room safe, and no nightlight to guide one's way to the bathroom. The biggest drawback is the neighborhood: sketchy people inhabit Jibboom Street. Accordingly, many motels in the area have night security staff; I didn't see evidence for a security guard at the Comfort Suites, but with the interior corridors, the need for onsite security is reduced. I'd consider the Comfort Suites to be the best hotel in the Jibboom Street area, winning by a narrow margin over Governor's Inn only because of a more comprehensive breakfast buffet. But the price! At $140-150, it is by far the most costly hotel in the vicinity. At that price point, one could stay at a number of properties in more attractive neighborhoods.

Breakfast Staff start wrapping up at 9:30am without making a courtesy announcement that they will be closing in "10 Min". Breakfast Staff was hurrying to close everything. I asked for water at 9:38am and she responded " we are closed , we can't serve anything now" Check in staff professional and courteous Overall Property clean . No A/C in elevator or stairs

Found 2 spiders in our bed and killed them. Brought pillow with one dead spider on it to manager and showed him a picture of the other spider. All he said was they have pest control spray periodically. No show of concern. Second night manager put us in another room. Microwave was broken and fridge was leaking water. I had to put a towel in fridge to soak up water. Once again, no concern from manager. Very poor service from Comfort Suites. I was especially dissatisfied since wife has cancer and I try keep her comfortable.

Stayed here for 1 night for business. It's tucked away in what feels like a secluded area in downtown. There's a gas station right next door, and there are a variety of restaurants nearby. Pros: -Friendly staff, quick check in -Comfortable room, 4 HBO channels, sofa included -Hot breakfast served Cons: -Outdated, old carpet -May not be in the safest area I stayed here for a quick stay and wasn't expecting much. I left satisfied.

Walking into the lobby I was greeted by Noel. Probably one of the best personalities and a great person to be at the front desk. I was so hoping this was gonna be the way the stay would be. Walked into my room - so clean. Even smelled clean. I'm gonna love this! First stop. Bathroom- it was a long drive. Wait. What? Doesn't flush. Call to my new friend Noel who was there in a hot second to "reset the mechanism". Who knew. But it worked. Noel gave me some good dinner recommendations and even a discount coupon! Back to the room after dinner. Even though I'm on the ground floor soooo quiet. Bed was firm which isn't my first choice but slept well. Pillows were luscious. Next morning. Shower was a bit weak but do able. Unfortunately my hair dryer didn't work. But again in a hot flash front desk brought me a portable dryer. Breakfast was good as I always get at Comfort Inns. So all in all. Even though there were some setbacks. Staff stepped up and delivered. Definitely worth another stay!

Unexpectedly clean and inviting with all the amenities to make your devices happy. The room has a mini fridge and a microwave and an actual coffee pot. This is a great place to stay in expensively for business. This hotel also is conscientious of the environment and doesn't change linens every day. Was very pleased with everything at this hotel

The hotel is in bad need of maintenance. Our room had b broken phone and a broken hair dryer. The shower curtain rail pulled out of the wall when stepping out of the shower. Also, the carpet by the bed had a stain..

As it has been a comfort. Comfort has been there for my travels up and down the PNW. I joined Choice Hotels membership. I always feel at home when staying at a Comfort hotel. Amenities are great. Pool, Lemon water at the door. Clean, quiet, safe, home away from home everywhere I've been.

If you need an internet connection, don't stay here. Otherwise it is a fine motel with nice clean rooms and comfortable beds. The Cable TV is mediocre, but the WiFi is slow at best and stops working in the evening when the place is full.

I got paul mccartney tickets at the last minute , and living in the bay area, I didn't want to drive in downtown sacramento after the show. I searched everywhere downtown for a hotel room , most of them were charging 250 dollars and up. I came across this little gem,and after a couple of so-so reviews , I was pleasantly surprised. Our room was very spacious, and it had a coffee maker ,a microwave and a fridge. Plus a am/pm market right next door for drinks and snacks. We actually walked to the golden 1 center, it took about 20 minutes ,and took a cab back .. Good job, comfort suites.. I would stay here again...
