This riverfront rental lived up to its description AND the reviews provided. So happy to find a place that accepts a dog (and provides 2 dog beds)!We arrived with snow on the ground and left with 60 degree temps & sun. In other words, staying on the cove may not have brought spring to New England, but it allowed spring in our step after a wonderful break.The modern farmhouse is well-laid out & well-appointed for cooks or a relaxing glass of wine after a day of exploring the river & coast. Not feeling like cooking? Finestkind (breakfast/brunch) in Saco, Magnus on Water & The Garden Bar (both in Biddeford), and Cong Tu Bot (Vietnamese), Duck Fat (Belgian), and Honey Paw (Thai) in Portland were all standouts within easy driving distance.We are thinking about a return trip in summer or fall. This house and its hosts are total keepers!

Wonderful kitchen. It took a minute to figure out the cuissanart coffee maker, we did figure it out! Suggestions: Put all wine glasses in same location. We had to climb up and get them out from behind other drinking glasses for water, etc. Wonderfully layed out including screened in porch, fire pit with 8 chairs, etc. So comfortable, enough space to give people their own space & privacy. The walk up to the front of the house was a little challenging to roll luggage, etc. due to a loose pebble surface. Overall, the house was a great space & I will encourage others to look at this house. We’d come back!!

This is a wonderful house with a great comforting view. It has all the equipment you need to cook for yourselves but is located perfectly for sojourns to Kennebunkport, Portland and elsewhere. We like going to all the beaches we went to as children and this gives you many options. The hostess is very responsive and couldn’t be nicer.

Fabulous house. Clean, well stocked, toys for the kids, and very spacious. We had two families and we all felt like we had our own space. The porch was also amazing to wake up and read in the chilly morning air or watch a rain storm. We will be back!

Highly recommend… it was just two of us, but it would be very comfortable with three couples. The couple in the walkout basement has their own living space and kitchenette. VERY clean, and the screened in porch is a huge plus. Great view to wake up to.

Luxurious and peaceful, with beautiful view!

This was the most luxurious and well-appointed home rental we've stayed in. The view is outstanding, the fire pit was a lovely place to enjoy conversation day or night, and the beds were extremely comfortable. From the kitchen to the screened-in porch to the chairs and towels for the beach....the owners have thought of everything! The place was spotless, and the property description was spot-on accurate. The property manager is available to help, but respectful of privacy. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us!

Great stay in Saco

This was a great rental. In-laws were visiting Maine for the first time and were so happy with the place and all its amenities. Plenty of space for large dinners and the location provides easy access to a lot of great spots in southern Maine. Definitely recommend!

Our stay at The DragonFly Rest

Our stay at The DragonFly Rest Our family recently vacationed at “The DragonFly Rest” in Saco, Maine. The newly built home has large areas on three levels. The property offers many amenities that made our stay a pleasure. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful view of the Saco River with open fields that treated us to wildlife sittings of deer, turkeys, fox and lots of chipmunks….right from the comfort of the living room. The outdoor fire pit and screened in porch made for relaxing family gathering spots. We recommend “The DragonFly Rest” for anyone looking for a relaxing get-away with all the comforts of home and more!

Great family getaway

Beautiful house with a great view of the Saco river. Beds were comfortable and all bedrooms had water views. Big family dinner table. A couple minute drive to Ferry beach. House was equipped with all pot, pans, appliances you could ask for. Even had a spice rack. Beach towels and beach chairs are provided. Plenty of games and toys for the kids. It also has a very nice screened in room with comfortable chairs and big family table.

Wonderful multi-generational Family Weekend

Our multi-generational family stayed at this bright, lovely, roomy home for a weekend and had a wonderful time. We particularly loved the wide open views of the river from the living room and the 3 bedrooms at the rear of the house. The 3-floor layout and the large, well-stocked kitchen easily and comfortably accommodated the 3 family groups. We mostly hung out inside and visited but there were several trails nearby for running & walking the dog.

Couldn’t have been better!

Gorgeous property, exceptional hospitality, and all the amenities you can imagine. My family had the most amazing time staying at this incredible Saco home. Kara was extremely responsive and kind throughout all of our communications prior to and during our stay. We loved everything the home had to offer - from excellent views to sleds, board games, a kitchen aid, and everything in between! We will hands down be returning in the near future! 10/10 recommend for anyone staying in the Saco area.

Perfect Home Away from Home!

This property matches perfectly the pictures - very comfortable for our 3 generations - really a perfect layout for all. The house is well equipped with quality appliances, drinkware, and dinnerware. The furniture was comfortable. The bedding was luxurious! We also used and loved the wood stove/fireplace on the main level. We would have used the porch if it was just a touch warmer - but that was also a great space. The host was amazing and had good/easy communication. We also really appreciated the supplies of paper towels, toilet paper, soaps, coffee pods, etc. It really helped enjoy our time on vacation to not have to worry about bringing those items. It's super evident the owners care about the property and the people who stay there. Well done - we will definitley return!

Family time

This was a great house for our grandparents and family with young kids stay. Lots of space for everyone to be able to enjoy different activities at the same time and with so many supplies included it made travel easier for everyone. We loved the screened porch for meals and the firepit for evenings. Close to the beach and lots of restaurants. The Children's Museum in Portland was a big hit for a rainy day activity. New build so everything is new!

Perfect multigenerational family vacation

We booked this trip for our family vacation which included my grandparents (85 yo), My wife and children (6/8), my sister and brother in law, and my brother and sister-in-law. We stayed for 7 days and it was a perfect spot for us. The main floor master was perfect for my elderly grandparents, while the other rooms between the walk out basement and 2nd story were well spread out to accommodate plenty of people without feeling crowded. The location was perfectly centered on everything we wanted to do, whether it was go to Portland, go to the beach, or hit some quaint Maine towns for shopping and a local experience. The house had everything you could possibly think to include for a large family vacation, and the kitchen was excellent to cook in for 10 people, with everything we needed.
