It was a nice hotel to stay. Infrastructure looks slightly oldish and needing some care but amenities were good. It was clean, has free and easy parking, good pool, nice lobby, located next to whakarewarewa thermal village... Nothing to complain about.

Reception, bar and restaurant are all nice, but lots of other areas of the hotel are fairly tired looking. Rooms are a good size with comfy beds and decent enough standard. Buffet breakfast was good with lots of choice. Pool is good, but quite small for the size of the hotel so was packed when we were there. Not world class, but pretty good value for what we paid.

Nice Hotel. Rooms are a bit average and small. Bike lockup room is awesome, charged the e-bikes without issue. Limited parking onsite, did have to park out on the road one night. Gym is functional and the pool is fantastic . Staff were friendly and happy to help.

Great hotel but need some TLC

I was located in the main building (room 422) and it is in desperate need of a refurb. The towel rail in the bathroom was so rusted and corroded that you couldn't even hang a towel on it (the one over the bath) - All in all it is a good hotel and I believe the new wing is really nice. I was just unfortunate to get one of the older rooms

We stayed for my daughter’s birthday. The games room and buffet meals where the selling point to us. Staff were very friendly and helpful. This was. Mine and my 2 daughters first time staying at a hotel and were sadly very disappointed. Games room was a mess with most items broke. Or missing pieces so limited on what kids could play with. Buffet dinner was terrible. Meat was dry and chewy. A lot of items were unlabelled Dessert- chocolate fountain not even the kids would eat cheap and gross tasting. $75pp for dinner and we left still hungry. Very little extraction in bathroom so got very steamy. Floor was soaked after showers. Build up in toilet and sink and rubbish was under the bed. Reached out to voice my concerns but felt met with excuses and deflection. Sadly we won’t return in the foreseeable future. Maybe when the standard increases.

My room had a paneled ceiling which had a huge gap in it so you could see up into the roof cavity with wiring and insulation coming through. Two of these pannels fell down into my room overnight. The roof cavity was large enough for someone to be up in so felt very unsafe. The TV was glitchy and the crome cast did not work, no body wash in the container. Filthy plug and outdated bathroom. I recieved a full refund but this is definitely not a 4 star hotel. I wouldnt even rate it a 2.

I would not stay here again. The walls needed to be repainted, they are covered with marks and are dirty. The room was very small. It looked very different than the hotel website. I gave it two stars because there was an outdoor heated pool that my son liked.

Winter Oasis

Overnight only. On a cold, wet day, the heated pool was bliss. Enjoyed the spa in the evening. Very quiet area and reasonably close to town. Would definitely stay again - facilities were great
