We recently stayed in an interconnecting room at the Holiday Inn, we arrived late and were welcomed by friendly reception team. We were able to still have dinner in the lobby bar, Nirmal and Vlad were very friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was great value for money with ample variety. The rooms were tidy and clean. Housekeeping are friendly and greet you in the hallways. The hotel overall is clean and refreshing. Buffet dinner was amazing with lots of variety and tasted delicious. The pool is open until 10:30pm and is heated which was wonderful for the kids. Wifi connection is fast and had no issues watching Netflix. This is our second stay this year and will stay again. Highly recommend.

The hotel had a shuttle but the information about using it was very vague and it seemed as though there was every chance that it could be full on the return journey. The wifi was good. It had a pool which was nice. A lovely breakfast and an excellent buffet meal in the restaurant with great choices of food. a comfortable bed.

Spent one night at the Holiday Inn Rotorua and overall it was a very pleasant stay. The hotel is situated right next to a Maori village, which was convenient. It has lots of parking on site. The room we had was super spacious and the bed was very comfortable. It was on the ground floor facing the back, so it was quiet. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and is well worth the price. There was a huge selection, which must have something to do with the multicultural nature of the country, there were options for all tastes. Fresh fruit, stewed fruit, porridge, muesli, pastries, bread, pancakes, eggs any way you want them, etc etc. The swimming pool water is geothermal and therefore always warm. The pool is open from early in the morning til 10.30pm. The staff were friendly. We had a great stay and definitely recommend the hotel. There is one thing you should be aware of, though. The smell of sulphur can sometimes be quite strong around the hotel and sometimes even inside. It isn't overwhelming, but still. Something you need to be ready for.

I really couldn’t fault the hotel. Great friendly reception, clean, comfortable room. We had twin beds and there was room to spare with all our luggage and although you can’t get away from the smell entirely in Rotorua it wasn’t too bad inside the room. I can recommend the cheesy garlic bread from room service - it’s really very good (a large size and definitely not for dieters)!

We stayed for one night. As we are IHG members we got a room in a quieter part, facing the geysers at the back of the hotel. A good view especially when the Pohutu geyser blows. Yes, parts of Rotorua do smell of sulphur. If you don’t like the sulphur smell then don’t visit Rotorua! We noticed very little sulphur smell inside the hotel, or in our room, as long as you keep the balcony door closed. We had the carvery for our evening meal in Chapmans which was good, although some of the food was luke warm. Breakfast was good. We found the room to be satisfactory (we were at the end on the 5th floor) but the bathroom is tiny and the shower head in the bath is set very low. Not good if you are tall. The bathroom really needs a refurbishment! Bed and pillows was good. Wi-fi was good. All the staff were friendly. A bit niggled that no IHG Rewards Club points were awarded, because our whole Oz & NZ trip was booked as a package via our TA. We’ve still paid for the room! Give some points at least, if not the full number!

We were booked in here by our holiday organisers and were expecting the same standard of Holiday Inn as we would get in the UK. Not to be. Apart from the totally overpowering smell from the nearby hot spring (which actually made us feel ill after a couple of days as the hotel reeks of it) the room was not very clean. We cleaned hundreds of dead flies from the window sill which were behind the curtains upon entering the room. The bathroom was ok and bed comfy. The room was very dull in décor generally with only a view of the car park. Perhaps if we had been able to breath clean air we would have felt better about Rororua but even air conditioning does not help. Sorry Holiday Inn we are usually a fan of your hotels.

Nicely situated away from the town center we had a great stay here. Ask for a room facing the geothermal pools located directly behind the hotel. Staff was courteous upon arrival and very attentive to your needs and providing high quality service. They have a heated pool and jacuzzi spas to relax and unwind after a long day on your feet. The rooms on the new side of the hotel are clean and spacious with wonderful views of the native tree ferns surrounded by billowing plumes of smoke from the geo thermal pools nearby. Around the corner is a well equipped BP mini market also.

Made a booking thru Booking.Com At reception they tried to get me to do 3 different upgrades . Didn't do any so ended up in single bed overlooking rubbish area I would have been back monthly ongoing I will now fond better alternative who appreciates custom

As we move towards Rotorua we observe the building are not more than 4-5 floors. Rotorua is a city sitting on a volcano. You can see Chimneys made on the roads for letting out the steam/vapour from underground. You can see an entire parking area cornered off for these gysers. The hotel is comfortable and the staff happy to help. We stayed here for 2 nights.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The location is great. As soon as you get there it’s smelly. The volcanic type. It is right next to geysers and culture Centre. BUT.... the beds are really soft, the walls are thin. I could hear next door yawning and someone upstairs having adult fun. One upside, the garlic bread was yummy. The people were nice. The souvenir shop is cheaper than the actual tourist locations, lots of parking.
