Appreciated staff the most. I had a little difficulty with noise and Alessandro was the kindest. He listened to my concern, provided me options, and then accommodated me making sure that my accommodation was to my satisfaction. I appreciated also the level of courtesy by all the staff from obtaining a taxi, giving me detailed instructions to various locations and being so kind about seeing me off. Thank you all for all your help!!
My wife and I recently stayed for a week at the Marcella Royal and had a great time. The staff was very helpful and friendly Alessandro even was able to get us tickets to the Borghese gallery (although I'm sure the time of year we stayed helped). The breakfast was great and there is a rooftop garden with a lovely view of the city. It also has a bar on the roof that is open until midnight. There are also many good restaurants in the neighborhood
I stayed at the Marcella Grand Hotel in Rome with my 10 year old daughter in July 2014, and it was a marvelous experience. Everything about it was wonderful, aside from our initial room (and that quickly become a non-issue). The first room seemed much older in design and, most problematically, the AC was either broken, or simply just not up to the task of taking on the very intense July heat. Despite being nearly full, they quickly and kindly moved us into a far more modern room (automated window shades, even!) with the best AC we had on the entire trip. The staff was first-rate overall, clearly taking pride in their professionalism and willingness to help. And they were over-the-top marvelous with my daughter, who felt like a "Princessa" there, with all of the candies, kid-friendly tips, and special treats that they managed to send her way during our time there. The breakfast buffet was quick and great, and the rooftop deck was an absolutely perfect way to start the day. (the deck is why I picked it initially, and that was a good call!) The location was very good for travel with kids. It is not a touristy area, per se, but it is close to key transportation options. Even so, we normally just walked to most sights, as it felt like most of the key sights were within just 1-3 miles or so of the hotel. (The airports are far away from everything in Rome, so that should not be a factor when picking hotels in the city.) The overall value of the Marcella Grand Hotel was amazing, especially considering that it cost us less (during prime Rome tourist season) than a pretty basic Comfort Inn in the U.S. would cost. Amazing.
i love the hotel except th breakfast. the bacon was too salty
Small but comfortable room, very clean, fairly close to Roma Termini. Spectacular view from the roof garden, very good complimentary breakfast.
We enjoyed our stay here. When we got there, they didn't have our reservation because for some reason, it wasn't sent over when we booked it online but it was resolved quickly. Our room was clean and cozy and the breakfast on the hotel rooftop was nice. The location wasn't the closest to the sites but there is a nearby bus stop.
Pleasant hotel but away from buzz of Roman life and not well served by public transport. No Gym. Breakfast is very basic served until 10.00, smoking is permitted (i.e. unpleasant for non-smokers) and the room terrace is nowhere as nice as on the picture. The fact that we could have only one key for the room was difficult to manage as we were not necessarily doing things at the same time
The front desk hotel staff were very friendly and spoke english well, even had a sense of humor. The rooms were Ok, very small, with a shower that I don't think a heavy person would even be able to get into. I booked as a 4 star, but I would not rate it that way - maybe a 3.
The reason I choose this hotel was because of the location and rooftop dining. Location could have been better. It claims to be within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain, which it is, but it's a 20 minute walk. Buses to all attractions were conveniently accessible 2 blocks from the hotel. Overall the hotel was excellant.
