Hotel Villa San Pio3.0 out of 5.0

Villa San Pio is a really lovely hotel. It is set in a beautiful garden and has a feeling of peace and seclusion. We booked a triple room and it was HUGE. It was spotlessly clean. The beds were extremely comfortable, the aircon was superb and the marble bathroom was amazing. We were on the 4th floor and it was very quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. The happy hour at the bar was great value. There is no restaurant but there are loads of good ones close by. The hotel is only about 15-20 minutes walk downhill to the Colosseum/Forum/Palatine and about 15 mins to reach the river. From there another 15 mins walk will take you to the Vatican. We found the hotel to be perfectly situated, outside the hustle and bustle of the centre, but within easy reach. Free wifi was an added bonus. Can't praise Villa San Pio highly enough. We were sad to leave and we will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Rome.
Great hotel Clean rooms which are of good size. As a family of four with two younger children (4 and 7) they couldn't have been happier. Great breakfast, kind staff and 'posh room' (quote from 7 year old). We had a quad which was perfect . So glad we stayed in this area of rome rather than in the main historic centre - much quieter and cleaner. Another bonus - shutters, thick curtains and air conditioning meant we all slept in til 845 in the mornings. Exactly as it should be on holiday!
The location was extremely convenient and the staff were super helpful. But one of the best parts of this hotel was the charm, and boutique feel, the rooms were beautiful and clean constantly! The views from the terrace were one of the best ones I found in all of Rome because the hotel is atop a hill. The neighbourhood is quiet and safe and makes travellers feel right at home. The breakfast was also amazing! Would definitely recommend.
I spent 12 days at the Villa San Pio in July during a work trip. I love this area because it is quiet but close to where I work and also to other great neighborhoods of Rome. The staff at the hotel are great, especially in the restaurant/bar. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. I also like the room decor which varies from room to room. My only quibble is that the pillows are too hard and the wifi was weak, at least in my room. I would also be nice if the breakfast was not exactly the same every day. But otherwise, I highly recommend this hotel.
Check in was quick, but electronic room key did not work, and was not fixed until the next day, so we used an old fashioned mechanical key, which was no big deal really. Rooms are dated, but otherwise clean. Bathroom is modern and well equipped. Located in a quiet affluent residential area. Metro station at Circus Maximus is just 10 minute walk away. Expansive breakfast in a lovely atmosphere. We were very comfortable for a family of 3. There is an assortment of dining within walking distance.
This area of Rome is very pleasant, the hotel itself is elegant and has a lovely courtyard area. Our room was a quadruple room, which was perfect for our family and kept costs down, it was on its own overlooking the courtyard with a little terrace. Everything was lovely and clean and the staff were helpful and efficient.
Quick check in with help with our bags and parking. Parking was good. Staff were friendly. Room was pretty although bathroom had an awkward layout however not sure if all rooms are like that. Breakfast was excellent - fantastic range of hot and cold food available. Good location as buses and transport was nearby. Check out was easy enough. Would definitely stay again.
Stayed here several times and enjoyed quite beautiful stay. The included breakfast is nice and served in a jardin-d-hiver. They could refrain to charge additional for squeezed orange juice though. Rooms are nice and clean and they have their own parking too. Staff is generally nice and accomodating. Though they tend to be tricky at reservation time. more than a couple of times the rate they proposed was hgher than booking.com even though big ad in the hotel promises that booking at the hotel directly would give much bettere rates than you would normally get from online services. And if you have them to notice, the very minute after you drop the call the online rate is misteriously not available anymore. Hotels also claim local call are for free. Though I found call charges in the bill. This hotel is managed by the same owner of the nearby Sant Anselmo and Aventino. San Pio is definitively the best of the 3.
The whole place has a premium feel to it. The staff are attentive & helpful the building & small garden are beautiful. The breakfast was superb a huge Choice. Only vvv minor gripe was our air con was only partially effective against the 40 degree heat!
Beautiful hotel, we were met with a refreshing drink on arrival, our room was lovely great shower, I could go and on this hotel is just lovely, friendly helpful staff very smartly dressed I can not say one negative thing the management have thought of everything to give you a nice stay with that extra touch highly recommended loved it.
