Excellent hotel---great location, large comfortable room. Very helpful staff helped to organize private tours. Would definitely stay at the Kolbe again!

Quiet, but close to Collosseum. I was just there for one night on a long layover, but it was an awesome spot. I will be staying there on my next visit. :-)

The staff made our experience extraordinary for their friendly high class service and helpfulness... without being too stuffy or pretentious. The location is off the main streets with a lovely courtyard garden. Very private feeling and quiet even during the busy parts of the day. The rooms are modern and clean. The restaurant ended up being a highlight with an excellent menu and amazing attention to the culinary art in italian and traditional roman food. We found the location to be excellent for seeing all the sights of ancient Rome and Travestre. We ended up walking nearly everywhere although there is a Metro station just blocks away at Circo Massimo. We absolutely recommend Kolbe Hotel in Rome!

The hotel was great. Clean and updated with a full breakfast buffet offered satisfied all tastes. The staff was friendly and very courteous. Comfortable firm beds.Great Jacuzzi showers. The only improvement that could have been experienced was a few guests were a little loud in the wee small hours in the halls. Getting to the hotel was a bit of a walk, but so was everything else we encountered. We would go back with no hindrances.

Stayed 7 nights with wife and two teenage sons. Staff was very corteous. rooms cleaned daily. Daily breakfast buffet was very good. Hotel Kolbe made both our arrival and departure airport transfer reservations, and these worked very well at fixed cost. Location is close enough for most sight-seeing by walking. We did not eat dinner at the Kolbe since the prices seemed very high compared to many restaurants in Trastevere.

This hotel was walking distance from the colleseum and close to the metro. The rooms were a good size and the staff was nice and helpful. The restaurant at the hotel was pretty pricey and the food was just OK. I would recommend the hotel, but not eating there!

The two story room worked great for our family of four! The Hotel is very well designed and furnished. Great location to see all of the most historic Ancient Roman sites. Hotel Staff could have been a bit more helpful.

Perfect location next to the forum. If you stay here, I'd recommend requesting a room on the garden side, not the forum side. The forum side gets a lot of foot and car traffic on the stone road, which can be noisy. Our first night was on the 1st floor in 104. Decided to switch rooms due to the traffic noise. Moved to a garden room 243 and it was peaceful other than the seagulls squawking every so often. Garden is pristine and nice to look at in the morning. Both rooms were ok sized. King beds. Contemporary furnishings. Good sized bathroom. I'd guess the size of the rooms were 300 square feet. Small flat screen TV mounted to the wall with CNN and BBC available as the English channels. Wifi was inclusive with our room rate. It requires a login and password. You will need a login for each wifi device you want to use as each login is restricted to one device at a time. Breakfast was also included and I thought was really good. Scrabbled ad hard boiled eggs. Sliced meats and cheeses. Cereal. Pastries. Bacon and sausage. Juices, coffee machine, teas. All buffet style. The staff at the front desk and the dining-bar were very helpful and pleasant at all times. If you need help with reservations, definitely ask the front desk to assist. We had them call and reserve the Borghese gallery for us rather than doing it ourselves. You have to walk about 10-15 minutes to get to the entrance of the Colosseum or to get to the closest Metro stop (Circo Massimo) but its not that bad of a walk. If this hotel is on your list of options for Rome, I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.

This was a great hotel especially since I had been travelling alone around Italy for 2 weeks already. I was exhausted by the time I got here. The staff was helpful and pleasant. Acccomodating. I ordered room service for dinner which was delish and not unresonable. The location is safe and right behind the Colosseum. Amazing!! There are 2 pubs right up the block and also a sleek chocolate shop/ bakery. The grounds of the hotel are very nice too with a outside terrace and garden off the restaurant where you can sip a cappucino and smoke if you want. The breakfast they offer is convenient but you can get much better and cheaper out on the street. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend the place.

Very basic hotel, which does not meet the 4* rating. Not a good value for the money.
