Hotel Re Testa3.0 out of 5.0

The room was satisfactory for the price. We didn't spend anytime in the room so a good place to sleep. Had microwave and frig that we did need to use one night. No view to speak of. Was nice to be on the outskirts of Rome
This hotel was fabulous. You get more of a studio apartment than a room. Large room includes a seating area and a well equipped kitchenette. And I must not forget to mention the room has a big nice outside patio. The bathroom has a rain shower head which makes for a pleasant & soothing shower after a long day's walk. The hotel staff are very friendly & helpful. There are lots of restaurants litterally right beneath the hotel as well as a cute market with lots of shops. The colosseum is a straight shot up the street although it is about a 20-25 minute walk but like I mentioned, you just walk directly up that one street. You also get a continental breakfast served directly to your room at a time that you set. You also cannot beat the price. You get a lot of bang for your buck! The only negative I can think of is that there is a bar right across the street which seems to never close & is popular because there are always lots of people there until the wee hours of the morning. I suffer from insomnia so hearing all that noise didn't help. My husband is a heavy sleeper so it didn't bother him one bit. My advice would be to request a room on the opposite side of the hotel or further away from the bar. I would most definitely stay here again & highly recommend it to anyone!
The hotel may not look like a typical hotel that we are used to in USA; but this may be common in Italy (and may be in Europe) because we stayed in three different hotels and none of those matched the get-up of a typical hotel in USA. However, this place is excellent and we received a good value of our money. The hotel is newly renovated with modern furniture; located close to a metro station (walking distance from Piramide), good breakfast, nice quiet location close to good restaurants, very helpful staff. Most importantly, as we were four members in the family; they gave us two rooms interconnected. Nothing can be better than this arrangement for the price they charge. The rooms have kitchen, microwave ovens and mini refrigerator. Except the bathroom being a little small; I can not find anything negative to write about. The room also have patios.
