The room was pre booked for me and when I arrived at the hotel what an unpleasant surprise. The Hotel Palacavicchi is a 3 star hotel but it does not meet any standard at all. The room was dirty, the sheets had stains and holes, the bathroom had hairs from a previous guest. This hotel should be inspected. The photos speak for themselves. TERRIBLE!!!
They say that the picture says 1.000 words so please check picture of the towel we were given, it should tell you a lot. Not to mention that the sheets in the bed were also full of holes. This is obviously an overnight hotel only, they don't expect you will ever come back so they don't care about this and many other "details". In 2017 they don't have wifi in the rooms - only in the reception area. The room is not very clean and there were ants in the bathroom. The breakfast selection is very poor, only continental. Oh, there we were served plastic spoons and cups for breakfast! I can hardly believe that this hotel represents what a 3* hotel in Italy is, at least I hope that it doesn't.
Rented a room for 4 for three nights. Room was nice..good size, well lit.. maid service was excellent. front desk was extraordinary.. why not a 5 rating?..WIFI only in lobby and spotty at that..location so far from Rome proper..had to take expensive Taxi rides several times as train from Rome city center stops at 8:30 p.m. bottom line..good hotel, good value..poor location if you want to spend time in Rome itself..
I stayed here for just one night after arriving late at Ciampino. The hotel is large, and the rooms are basic with no frills. But they are clean, the beds are quite comfortable, and the rooms themselves are quite large. Breakfast was reasonable. There was a lot of fruit available, pastries and cold meats and cheese. The bar was available even though we arrived late for a drink. We made use of the hotel bus, which really is very good and well priced. Although this hotel is very close to the airport, it isn't possible to walk to it because most of the distance is on dual carriage way without pavement. Don't think I would want to stay a week here, but as a stopover for a day or two I think it is fine.
So on a girly weekend to see Kasabian and wanted something local to the venue and local to the airport, been caught out with that before, but also accessible to the centre of Rome for a Saturday wander around to see the sights. This hotel ticked all the boxes. It looks from Google that its in walking distance to the airport, but its down a main road... however phone ahead and they can organise a mini bus for you at £2,50/3 per person... cheaper than the standard taxi fare of £20. They dropped us of at the gig venue and collected us (yes!). Each and every journey charged at the same rate. They dropped and collected us at the station on Saturday and its a short train ride into town.. although its worth planning ahead so you arrive just before the train. Continental breakfast was included which is served from 6.30 until 10.30 and everything is replenished frequently. No tea of coffee making facilities in the room which is the only minus point. Room are basic, but clean and with lots of space (although we couldn't get the air conditioning to work). Staff were friendly and spoke english. There's food available at lunch and dinner although we didn't try this. All in all, a great budget hotel for a weekend in Rome
The day before yesterday, I lived here for one night, must be very honest to say that this hotel facilities and services are very poor! I lived with my mother in a double room, the air conditioning is very noisy, just like a tractor, completely unable to sleep. The bathroom equipment has also defect on it, although you can take a bath, but why not repair the bad completely? The staff of the reception, their attitude are very poor, it can be said to be cold, impolite, radial discrimination!
Having to leave very early from Ciampino Airport I chose a hotel near it. Three minutes walk: Palacavicchi Hotel, three stars, convenient price. The hotel, in truth, is more like a motel and has been honoured with a star, two are more consonant. Receptionist must have contracted a clause for not being courteous and not to smile and let the customer (not the guest) grateful for receiving a favour for giving accommodation! The only positive note is the shuttle service, with € 2,50 a van can come to take you from/to the airport or the train station.
Price was fair, we didn't want to stress about missing our 6:30 am flight from Ciampino Airport, so we picked this hotel due to location (about less than 5 min. drive from airport). After paying fairly high in Rome, this was a good change, hotel restaurant had really good pizza. Bar was nice too, which is good because there is nothing near (it's next to a highway intersection) so nowhere to walk either. So if you are staying there, plan on arriving late since there is not much to do.
The hotel was marked as a 3 star on expedia. The area was really bad and the rooms very absolutely awful. The hotel is a motel type where you can park outside your room. The only positive was that it was clean. Our room only had 1 towel and we weren't able to get a 2nd one until the next morning because the night staff didn't have access. The hotel was very near the airport so it was great to catch our morning flight and breakfast started at 6:30 so we were able to get a bite. The cutlery was plastic spoons so that indicated to us that this isn't a 3 star hotel. If it was advertised as a 2 star we wouldnt have been this disappointed.
Value for money hotel. Not something special but for the cost it was worth its money. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was OK. Very close to Champino Airport but far for city center, so not so ideal for sightseeing.
