Hotel Jonico3.0 out of 5.0

We had a first floor room (123), the room was spacious and had a view towards the front of the hotel (towards the street), we did not have A/C the first day and I asked the person on the reception why they didn't have air conditioning and the answer was that it would start on the 5th of next month (June), but they turned it on the next day (probably because the rooms to the front are hot due to the sun exposure all day). Overall the people working on the reception desk were polite and spoke good english. If you are coming to the hotel from Ciampino airport the taxi would cost you about 40 euros. The hotel is located a short walk from metro station C, but it is good to know that this line of the metro network (there are three lines - A.B and C) is closed after 8 pm, because line C does not connect with the other lines and now they are working to connect lines C and A at station San Giovanni, the final station and closest you can get to the city centre is station Lodi, it is located a short (about 6 minute) walk from metro line A (San Giovanni station) and from there you can go to Termini station (the central station of Rome). It would take you around 40 minutes to make it to station Termini at the city centre. Overall I would say that the location of the hotel is its biggest weakness. You have some restaurants nearby that close around 11 pm, so if you are hungry in the evening after a long day of exploring you could grab a pizza. You might consider getting the Roma pass tourist card, because you'll have to travel a lot by public transport.
Great choise of staying at hotel in Rome near the city center (around 30mins). Really nice and helpful staff, every day cleaning service, nice breakfasts, aircondition which was really welcomed in that hot days. We have to only thank to the hotel staff for that great care :)
Me and my partner stayed here for 3 nights and the hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful. Towels and bedding etc was changed daily. The hotel is around 10 miles to the centre of Rome but it is very easy to get to the centre taking around 30 mins from the metro line c then a little walk to line B which takes you straight into the centre. My only two gripes are that the metro line C closed at 20:30 during our stay due to extending the metro but there were alternative busses running which were easy enough to get you straight back to the hotel but the metro is so much easier. My second gripe is the city tax which is €4 per person per night but the hotel is not in the centre so therefore should not be charging this. Also just to add for people going to stay here and so not fancy the commute back to the centre at night there is a lovely cafe/bar what is very cheap for food and drink and a pizza takeaway shop too what right next to the hotel. We had food in a local pizza restaurant around the corner and the food was appalling and over priced it's called paglia e fieno stay away from here. The metro's extension is meant to be competed by the 27th oct 2017. Overall a good place to stay and if you would prefer to stay out of the centre and do not mind the little commute into the centre.
We booked this hotel just on the outskirts of Rome for our three day visit into the city. When we arrived hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. When we entered our room we were shocked to find it was nothing like the photos on hotel.com. We booked a standard room which didn't have a safe like stated on the site. The room was clean on the surface as daily housekeeping changed towels, bedding and soap. However the room felt grotty and dirty. The shower was damp and mouldy. My first thoughts were that we would only be in here to sleep. It was a walk down a rough dirty road to the tube but not far, it was however another walk (1km) to another tube station to get into the city and see the sights. Making our journey into Rome from the hotel 45 mins- 1hr. The only two things making this hotel a two rating is the friendly staff and the amazing pizza place down the road. If you are planning a trip to Rome look at the tube stops first. The tube near this hotel is currently being extended and will help with the journey.
This hotel was really good for my purposes. I would recommend it for solo travelers but if you are traveling with family or a significant other try another option. It is a very dirty street takes a lot of time to get to the airport about an hour and half.
Stay about 9 days, (01.01.17-09.01.17) . Some staff are very kind and pleasant. I want to thank a woman at the reception desk and a man in a grey costume (very sorry that unfortunately, I don't know their names). They always helped us when we had any problem and were very understanding and responsive. But when I asked for help another day, there was two men who said something "I don't know, I can't do anything". When I say about the proplem, I mean COLD ROOMS AND NO HOT WATER! Even if it's winter and it's cold outside, the hotel has the heating! But radiators are cold. When we returned back after walking and painting beautiful Rome, we were chilled trough the bone and the only wish was to take hot (warm) shower. I was very very disappointed about this hotel because of these two mans who didn't try and even want to help us. At first day of our cold journey, the staff provided us with a reflector. When I was asking about water, a man and a woman always helped. Thanks a lot for them. But in the rooms there are always blowing air from the outside. The bathroom is very cold. But actually everything was OK for 3* hotel. Of course, the destination from the center isn't little, but the metro station is close to the hotel. The breakfasts are gorgeous, as for me:) I have never written the reviews for hotels before and I wouldn't do it if that two reception men haven't disappointed me about the hotel and made me even angry.
The position of the hotel is close to Torre Maura metro station, from where you take Bus 51 which takes you to the center ( about 1h metro + bus ). We stayed for 4 days and the room was always clean, towels and the bed changed everyday. Everything was nice, except for the breakfast , which was poor. Overall, we had a nice vacation.
Stayed 2 nights (29.11. And 30.11.). Everything was perfect ( big, clean room, kind staff, very good wi-fi) but location. We come with our car, and it is far from city center. It's not 15 min, its almost 1h, depends of traffic. ( First day half hour, and second one hour from Villa Borgese Parking Garage to hotel Jonico.)
Not so bad but that doesn't mean it was good! Decent, at best. Far from the heart of the city, it takes almost 1 hour to reach it. And the Underground of Rome is some kind of hell on earth! About the Hotel: old room but quite comfortable, nice breakfast and some cool guys working there.
It is a nice 3 star hotel. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The hotel is located about 20km from the center of Rome, but there is a metro station that takes you to the city center about 300m away. The breakfast consists of tipical continental breakfast options, like cheese, ham, coffee and a large variety of pastry. The furniture in the rooms is pretty old. but still in good shape. Overall my staying at the hotel was a good experience.
