Wonderful location overlooking the beach, easy access to the shore, city stores and restaurants, and an easy walk from the MetroMare station (Lido-Centro). RXcellent breakfast, and the shuttle to FCO was very convenient.

Overall, a good stay. It's a little awkward to get to, but Google Maps can help you figure it out. We were pretty hot in our room the whole time and couldn't figure that out. The shower also doesn't have a rim or anything to keep the water in so the whole bathroom got wet. But, that's a small price to pay for an overall good and cheap experience. There is a McDonald's next door if you need something fast and easy!

The check in was fairly fast as they are open 24/7 and the overall staff response was friendly and helpful. We arrived at La Scaletta Hotel by local bus from FCO Rome International airport Terminal 1 Cotral bus stop where we were able to buy a $1.10 Euro bus ticket per adult from the ticket machine located outside Terminal 1 building to Ostia Lido Central. There was a bus/ Metro train transit strike throughout Rome on Friday November 15 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with sporadic service throughout the system during the day with no guarantee of service. We were able to catch an early morning train before 8:00 am from Ostia Central main train station near the La Scaletta Hotel to get into the Central part of Rome before the transit strike began at 9:00 am. The free buffet breakfast from 7:00 - 10:00 am included a very large selection of nice bakery items, breads, cereals, fruits, yogurts, sliced meats, cheese, juices and a variety of specialty coffees and more. Great value!

I really enjoy staying here. It is my new go to place if I want to be right outside Rome. I’ve only ever been here in the off season but I imagine summer is really busy. The view from the room is amazing, comfy and clean rooms and the staff is always very welcoming and helpful. I’ll be back!

Wonderful stay at this hotel. Room was nice, clean and had an air-conditioner. Housekeeping cleaned the room daily. Breakfast was decent with fruits and yogurt available. The guys on reception always greet you with a smile. Besides, this hotel has a good connection to the center of Rome via the trail that departs from Lido station, however the last train from Rome to Lido departs at 9 pm, so if you want to catch it and avoid taking a bus or taxi, don't stay in the center of Rome too late.

Airport shuttle service is limited. It was only available 2 times during the day which did not work for us. The hotel was able to book a taxi for us which was great. Hotel location is in a great place. Very walkable with many restaurants around. The hotel is also accessible by metro and a short walk.
