The hotel was recommended by friends. They are still our friends. Breakfast, included with room, has good variety. Room is cozy and comfortable. Rates are reasonable. Hotel is centrally located, 10 min from train station and a flat rate of €25 from airport.
We arrive very early, long before normal check in time and expected to just drop our bags and start our day. The staff worked very hard to get our rooms ready early for us even though we did not expect this. While we waited a kind gentleman brought us some tea, coffee, and pastries - wow! great hospitality by warm and caring people. The rooms were very nicely furnished and were very clean, the next morning the breakfast was very enjoyable and good quality. We only stayed two days but wished we could have stayed forever. Staff was helpful with taxi service and the location is within walking distance of many great restaurants. The small street that the hotel is located on has a number of buildings under renovation but this was really no problem.
We visited Rome for a long weekend and stayed here. As soon as we entered the hotel felt very welcoming and modern but with a traditional Roma theme to the reception and rooms. The staff were brilliant and friendly and took our bags to our rooms. I had accidentally overpaid the taxi driver who took us to the airport and the hotel staff really went out of their way to phone all the taxi companies on my stupid behalf. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and has a complementary mini bar, although this doesn't include alcoholic drinks. Breakfast was included in the stay and was nice with a variety of options to suit everyone. Overall, a great hotel that I would personally stay at again if I visited Rome and recommend to others. It's situated In a great location to visit all of the main tourist hotspots.
Lovely, helpful staff. Great location for making connections to Termini Station, Via Nazionale and pretty good walking distance to a lot of sights that people go to Rome for. Breakfast was plentiful and fantastic; so nice to have a selection of savoury foods vs. Italian's typical sweets and I'm a 'sweets' person, but I prefer a savoury hot breakfast and then something sweet- like a small dessert afterwards. I always had eggs, bacon, rice mixture, toast. There's an assortment of fruits, cereals & sweets (my fav was a mini pot of creme brûlée (!). Coffee machine, water & juices. Had to leave early one morning and they through some edibles into a bag for me left at the front desk :) And by the way, there is a mini supermarket right up the street- very ideal! Room; bed was okay to good, heavy curtains to block out light, however... car horns and external noises woke me every morning- not hotel's fault. Bathroom was all you need, but you luck out here with the shower- you can actually move in it and it has a high seat/shelf to put things on- I was very impressed, because the shower also has lots of water pressure and no heat issues. Cleaning staff were very friendly and attentive... I think most highly of the staff here, a wonderful stay and if I go to Rome again (it's my 4th time), I would stay here again without doubt.
We had a wonderful experience at the Britannia. We typically stay in large chain hotels when abroad, so this one took us a bit out of our comfort zone. The room was spotless and well appointed. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of foods. The hotel was in walking distance to virtually everywhere we wanted to go. The best part though, was the staff. They were truly wonderful- so attentive, helpful and friendly. Will definitely return.
Hotel has a good location for all major tourist attractions either walking or using public transport. Some shops and small supermarkets nearby. Hotel room clean and tidy. Bathroom decorated in period style with stone washbasin but generally the bath, shower and decoration were a little tired. Breakfast tasty with good choice.
We stayed there 6 nights. Hotel is in a great location, walking distance to train and subway stations, also close to a laundromat. Our room was clean and beautifully decorated, and the bathroom was large, definitely enough room to unpack toiletries. Breakfast was delicious. Hotel staff was wonderful with restaurant recommendations, how to get places using public transportation and they had our cab back to the airport waiting for us. Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again. Excellent value for the money.
Room, breakfast areas and common areas were spotless. Staff very friendly, patient and always willing to go the extra mile for guests. Special thanks to Simona and Elmer, both of whom we saw regularly and were always cheerful, welcoming and very helpful. The lift in the hotel is small but is the maximum size permitted by the authorities in a building of this age. It is however perfectly adequate for 3-4 people and reliable. Wide selection of foods at breakfast service, from cereals to pastries to cheeses to cold meats to hot fresh eggs and vegetables. Would particularly recommend the carrot (and other ingredients) juice; very tasty and refreshing. The room was modern with a large bathroom and television. Slightly on the small side but this is very common among city-centre hotels. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely return if we found ourselves in Rome again. Thoroughly recommend. Thank you!
A nice small hotel that is old in decor (not dated). It is clean, with friendly staff. It's well positioned for the sites. Good breakfast and comfortable rooms. A more than adequate hotel to see the sights of Rome. Take their advice on local restaurants.
We originally booked the Britannia, which was situated closer to the main train station. However on our arrival it soon came to light that the Britannia did not have enough rooms so they sent us over to the tribune which is a nicer hotel and upgraded our room. It should be noted the issue was quickly resolved and staff at the Britannia were very helpful. This is a review of the tribune hotel: Positives: - Better room than we booked due to mix up - Clean - Very modern - Good location - Helpful and friendly staff - Big room Negatives: - No view from room, looked onto a wall - Limited choice of breakfast included
- Walking distance to Teatro dell'Opera di Roma and Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore
- Free buffet breakfast
- Free WiFi in rooms and public areas
