We arrived 12 hours late in the early hours of the morning but the hotel had, when telephoned, arranged a car to pick us up and there was someone sensible to greet us when we arrived. Indeed, we were impressed by the quality of the staff and the level of service and willingness to help at the Borgognoni. We asked for a room upgrade and were given one at no extra charge the next morning. The original room was fine but the superior room was undoubtedly more spacious with more facilities. The location is excellent. The only quibble we had was with the breakfast which was no more than "Okay". It just seemed a little uninspiring. The coffee was not as good as I had hoped given we were in Italy...and I'm a fan of Italian coffee. One morning it was served cold. If the breakfast had been better I would have awarded the hotel 5 stars. But for everything else we couldn't fault it.
The staff always had a smile on their faces and they were a exceedingly helpful. Love the hotel...especially the outdoor patio off our room it was clean, comfortable the breakfast was excellent. The location was superb and we will recommend.
Hotel booked through travel agent, and we were pleasantly surprised to find this gem of a hotel on a small narrow street in a great location to restaurants, shopping, gelato places...I could go on and on. The entire staff is polite, smiling, and eager to please. They are a very welcoming group of people. Our spotless room overlooked the street in front, and we loved hearing the outside activities when the windows were opened, but when we wanted to sleep, closing the windows seemed to shut out the noise. The complimentary breakfast provides a large choice of wonderful foods. We'd come back in a heartbeat!
I have just spent six nights at the Hotel Dei Borgognoni in Rome as part of a family holiday with my husband and two children, ages 11 and 13. We had interconnecting rooms 207 and 208 which worked really well for us, giving us plenty of space and privacy but meaning we could walk between the rooms whenever we wanted. The hotel itself is lovely - the bar area is very comfortable to sit in and the cocktails are great! It's the kind of place where you feel comfortable sitting and having a drink on your own if everyone else is too tired to come to the bar with you! The rooms are very well kept and were spotlessly clean each day. Breakfast was also really good with plenty of choice. The staff really make the hotel extra special. Absolutely everyone is so friendly, from the staff who take care of the rooms to the front desk staff, the bar staff, the breakfast staff - every single one of them was friendly, cheerful and very helpful. I should also mention the location - the hotel is tucked away on a quieter side street so there really isn't much noise at night but it's really a stone's throw from the Trevi Fountain and from the Spanish Steps - it's a fantastic location. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the Hotel Dei Borgognoni as a place where you can sit and relax if you want to but equally get out and explore the city.
Clean and centrally located to a lot of attractions. Staff were very helpful and polite. The breakfast which was included was awesome! They even offered gluten free items. We stayed 3 nights and were able to see the city and walk to most places. Bus stop down the street, grocery store 2 doors down, pharmacy next door and numerous restaurants all only minutes away.
Stayed here for 5 nights and loved everything about it. So close to many major attractions and non touristy restaurants. Everyone working there was very friendly, especially Luca and Marco at the front desk who always greeted us and asked about our day. By American standards our room was spacious and by European standards it was palatial. The bathroom was large with plenty of vanity space for toiletries for 2 people. We always felt safe walking back late from dinner every night. We loved Rome and loved this hotel.
Hotel amenities are average, but bathroom if spacious with good lighting for makeup/hair. The breakfast is wonderful, a real standout. Also, the location is perfect! Only a short block or 2 from the Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna, and Via Candotti world class shopping. Walk or catch a tour bus everywhere in Roma from this hotel.
The hotel location is great! The Trevi Fountain is a few blocks away as well as the Spanish steps. There are numerous restaurants close-by and a market two doors from the hotel. A bar with delicious pastries is located directly across the street. The hotel is very quiet and the rooms are relatively spacious. The rooms are very clean, contain a mini-bar/fridge, and safe. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included in our stay and included the buffet and basket of pastries and bread. Just a caveat - the shower door is a half door - water can escape!!
I have never done a trip advisor review but use them all the time to plan holidays. This hotel was so wonderful and the people who work in it so great that I had to add my comments. Hotel staff were so friendly and welcoming to us, made us comfortable right away. The free breakfast was a great way to start the day. Loved the free wifi. Rooms were awesome, all the amenities needed right there, comfortable bed, quiet and peaceful, no city noises, a beautiful courtyard. I can't say I've ever said this before but the hotel smelled wonderful! Check it out!
Charming hotel in Rome near the Trevi fountain and Spanish steps. Very friendly staff with helpful valet. Upgraded superior room has a window to the street with view of businesses outside. Nice shampoo/conditioner/soap provided in bathroom which has a toilet, bidet and shower/tub. A breakfast is provided as part of the nightly price. Wi-Fi is also free which is a huge plus. As it is so well located you can easily get to many of the major attractions by walking or a short ride by cab/subway. Would definitely stay here again.
