Rome was the last stop on our Italy trip. After stays in Venice and Florence, Hotel Dei Borgognoni continued the excellent experiences we had with hotels in those cities. Tucked away on a quiet street in very busy Rome, within short walking distance of the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, the hotel served our needs well. The staff was friendly and very helpful with directions to the key sites. Our room on the top floor (4th) was spacious with two separate but very small terraces. Each afforded us privacy, however, since the view was of the sky and the slightly higher rooftops across the street. The kingsize bed was comfortable and the closets were in the entranceway, separating the bedroom from the door. Breakfast was served each morning. The scrambled eggs were generally runny but the pastries and fresh fruits were quite good. My highlights were the apricot and berry tartes. The waitstaff was very friendly and ready with coffee as soon as we arrived. The location is in walking distances of many of the historic neighborhoods in Rome. All in all, we had a great stay at Hotel Dei Borgognoni and would recommend it to others.
Wonderful hotel with perfect location. Everyone was very friendly and pleasant. The room was very clean and updated. The breakfast was amazing! Especially the fresh bread basket. I highly recommend to anyone sight seeing in Rome
Just a couple of minutes walking from Piazza di Spagna and Fontana di Trevi, nested in a quiet road Hotel dei Borgognoni offers you an exquisite old style hospitality in a warm, elegant and cozy ambient. Beautiful old paintings, discrete lights and a feeling of being pampered by the higly professional and gentle staff. Quality of service is outstanding,EVERYONE tries to fulfill your desires in the most graceful and gentle way. And this makes a difference! This 50 rooms hotel doesn't offer you a gym or a spa but brings you back to the roaring DOLCE VITA years, in a lusciious athmosphere , elegant fornitures and a small charming bar at the lobby. Once you enter here you are very far from the hectic life of Rome. Perfectly managed by the Director Mr. Nicola Graf von Rex, an extraordinary kind and attentive young gentleman with a rare old school education, the Hotel offers you a delicious breakfast and a small but super selected choice of light foods and very good wines. We had a really great time here and concierges were generous of information and explanation when required. We were surprised of how many Italians were there, as if the place has its own " aficionados" customer. A romantic and discrete place, a hidden gem in the hart of Rome
We loved the location, very close to the Trevi fountain and many tours on foot walked right down our small cobble stone street. The room was good not great , it was small like most European hotels and in need of refurbishing. The mini fridge was good to have and the service improved after they got to know us. They were very helpful on our transportation recommendations, airport shuttle was reasonable and when we were getting a 2.5X quote from Uber they got got us a cab in 5 minutes that cost us €15 instead of €45 from Uber. Joseph the bellhop was an all around good guy, helping us multiple times with a great attitude and strong communication skills.
This property offers so much, the location to the Trevi fountain and Spanish steps could not be better. Street cafe's and restaurants within steps of the front door. Decor is stylish boutique, beautifully decorated and very comfortable lobby/bar furniture (under staffed in bar and their food cafe) but bartender handled the amount of customers well and offered good service. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Hotel is difficult to find if your driving and under property parking is not easy to spot or enter, we thought it was someones private garage entrance. First night we came back to room turndown service had placed a floor pad on each side of bed so your bare feet stepped on a clean service until finding slippers,,,those are the touches you will find at this hotel, I look forward to staying there again! I also have a small shihtzu dog they were extra nice too so dog lovers, this hotel is a must. Rooms with terrace are the best, nice to enjoy coffee in the morning and a nightcap under the stars.
We stayed here with our two college aged children for 3 nights. The front desk fellow Luca was so kind and accommodating and the bellhop Jerry was a nice as can be. They offered info, called Taxi's took our bags in for storage to help us out they're just two awesome guys. Our room was nice each room had two balconies to just enjoy the sunlight from overhead they were private balconies. The hot water was flowing nicely no worries there. Breakfast was friendly with a full selection of hot and cold and what I liked is that it ran until 11:00am giving plenty of time to sleep in and enjoy the meal. We found a nice terrace with a couple lounge chairs to take in the sun. As mentioned in previous posts the location is perfect for any place your looking to spend your time at in the city. There is free wifi and upon logging in it mentioned a 1MB limit but we didn't notice any issues and with college kids that limit can go by fast so I'm not sure what that was about but it didn't effect us.
Our fourth stay and our first choice when in Rome.Works like a well oiled machine. It is quite faultless.Nicely decorated and spotlessly clean The location cannot be over emphasisedCchoice of rooms; those with terraces the best.
We enjoyed our stay in Rome and the location of this hotel was excellent. Walking distance to many attractions and excellent restaurants. Front desk staff was very helpful with transportation questions to Vatican and airport. Provided a box breakfast to take on our tours that left before breakfast started at 7:00.
We stayed for 4 nights, well actually only three as there was as we did not have a room for the first night and was allocated one in their sister hotel. This was not a problem the room was fine and the staff sorted everything for us. Back in Dei Borgognoni we had a lovely stay. Room nice, clean and spacious. Complimentary bottle of bubbly to apologise for room issue o. First night. Breakfast good choice and friendly service. The area was perfect for walking to lots of tourist sights. Minutes to both trevi fountain and Spanish steps and 30 mins to Vatican and colosseum. Lovely eating places on walking distance. Fab stay. Will return to Rome one day and will def stay here.
We loved staying here.. very friendly staff, centrally located on a great street, clean updated rooms and a cute breakfast/ bar area. Our room was very dark and quiet at night so we were able to get good sleep after long days of siteseeing. Definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a nice hotel with a great location.
