The room was clean and tidy with fresh bed linen and towels daily. The hotel met our needs because we preferred to be up and off early and stay out all day till early evening. The breakfast was very basic continental style. We had to ask for tea and coffee facilities which we received promptly. However the tea and coffee was not replenished daily and the cups were not changed. The hotel appears to be more suitable for Italians on business. The staff do not appear very helpful, however this is probably due to th language barrier. The hotel is near to the transport links, however we did not choose to use the transport system because we like to walk. It is around a 2.5 mile walk to the centre
On evening arrival reception were less than helpful when asked if restaurant or bar was available only to be told it was full and there is no bar then ignored. staff at breakfast ignore everyone unless you are Italian who then get special treatment. food choice poor. Tea and coffee making facilities have to be requested no fridge available. The restaurant staff and food were good but you are not encouraged to linger when finished hotel and Rooms are clean.
Hotel is very modern and clean. It has air conditioning, which is very useful as Rome was very hot even in March. WiFi is free and is very good. We were there on a B&B basis. The breakfast was the usual continental but had options for everyone's tastes. The journey into the centre of Rome could be done on either the bus, train or taxi but we chose to walk the 30 minutes daily just because we love walking 😊. The restaurant caters for diners in the evening and is good quality but the choice is limited. We ate there for two out of our four nights. The other two we chose to eat at the local pizza restaurant two minutes up the road from our hotel. Choices of where to eat were our only gripe as to where the hotel was situated. Overall a good stay.
I spent one night in this hotel. The room is comfortable and clean. The only weakness is the breakfast, the overall quality is very average and they have the same bad use to offer concentrate based juices that are impossible to drink
We had a five night stay at this hotel and enjoyed it so much we will definitely use it again. If you want a hotel in the middle of Rome this probably isn’t the hotel for you. But the cheap price for us far out-ways the 15 min journey into Rome. The hotel is modern, very clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was superb and vegetarian friendly. The staff could not have been more helpful, giving us good advice and local knowledge, spoke good English and went out of their way to help. The metro into Rome is a ten minute walk away, only cost €1.50 and never waited longer than 2 min for a train, due to the traffic this is by far the best way to get around.
Be prepared if it’s warm outside, they don’t turn the air conditioning and it’s way to loud outside to open a window. The have spider webs hanging from the ceiling in the corners. The breakfast food is yuck! If you get up late they may not have any fresh fruit left, that leaves their home made pastries, which are not palatable to the taste or your stomach. I tried their restaurant and the food was fair at best. The clerks were rude when I asked for change on a 50 euros. He rubbed it on the counter, got out a light from under the counter and submitted the 50 to the light for two minutes and then used the standard high lighter method and gave me change. This was in front of 6-7 people. I will never go back again..........
This hotel was about half an hours walk from the city attractions. The staff were polite and were mostly willing to give advice and guidance if you were unsure about anything. The room was clean and tidy and after a day's exploring the attractions of Rome, the bed was comfortable. The food was ok.
Myself and my partner have just returned from Rome last weekend after a 3 day stay! We thoroughly enjoyed it! Would recommend this Hotel, Very clean, modern and a very pleasant place to stay. Although it being situated on a very busy main road, No noise was heard once the patio doors were shut. Our room did have tea / coffee and mini fridge already in the room, and the bed was amazingly comfy! Although this is out of the main city, it was quite nice to be away from all the hustle and bustle of the main city centre in Rome! Buses are easy to get, 714 takes you straight to Termini, and the underground metro Garbatella isn't too far walking distance either! Food was amazing, Colosseum was immense, So all in all a big thumbs up from me! :)
It was ok the room are big and it is clean.. Breakfast is okayyish but not really keen on it.. the reception staff was not that helpful.. its about 30 minutes from the city centre.. the hotel is located on the outskirts of rome..
The Caravel is situated on a busy road but no problem as double glazing solves this. Nice bathroom, room clean and comfortable, functional. Felt hotel was more suited to conferences than average tourist. (There was group there when we stayed - they took over dining area on two days of our stay, spoiling the holiday atmosphere). On other days we enjoyed a more relaxed breakfast which was very good. There is a hairdryer I the bathroom, no fridge and no tea making facilities but if you ask at recettion they will provide tea making for your room (no extra charge). Air conditioning free, safe in room free. There is a bus stop over the road from the hotel. 714 goes to Termini, 60 goes to Villa Borgaise and the 30 goes towards the Vatican. Buy your tickets from tabaconist shops €1.50 each and validate the on bus. Buses plentiful and reliable but be prepared to stand at peak times. 714 into Termini takes 15 minutes depending on amount of traffic. We walked to Termini on one occasion 55 minutes. We got bus from Fiumicino to Termini €12 return, buy ticket from kiosk outside airport.
