Hotel Alba Roma4.0 out of 5.0

We stayed here in november 2016 for 4 nights hoping to enjoy our time in Rome. The location is pretty good, 10 mins walk to a subway station also with convenience stores and restaurants very close for those who'd rather dine close to their hotel. However it took us almost 1 hour until city center attraction so from this point of view not really worthy. The hotel room was dull and not what we expected but at least were clean. Receptionists all nice and eager to help with information clients might need.
I and my friend stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. We were in Rome for tourism just for this short period. The longest period of our vacation we spent in Rimini. The hotel was chosen because it was cheaper than the hotels in the center and it looked convenient to get to the center by metro. Well, I couldn’t know that it’s so difficult to change line in Rome’s metro (you have to come out from metro and go on foot for 10 minutes or take a bus). Anyway it’s possible to get to the center by metro and the metro station is pretty close to the hotel. We booked a standard double-room. The room was pretty clean, spacious and comfortable, but the furniture was partly time-worn. We could see a lovely courtyard from the window. The design of the room was simple and pleasant. There wasn’t air-conditioner (!), but it wasn’t hot in Rome during our staying. It had a mini-bar but it worked really badly. The safe wasn’t free but Wi-fi was free and worked excellent. The beds were comfortable, but the hotel was big, there were a lot of people and it wasn’t comfortable to sleep there after 7 A.M. Breakfasts were pretty basic, every day we had the same menu, the quality of food was average, but we definitely weren’t hungry after breakfasts. Sometimes we had to come to the restaurant and come back to the room because there were too much people in the restaurant and all the food had been eaten before we came, but in 30 minutes the staff brought the food again. The staff on the reception and in the restaurant were friendly but very busy, so they couldn’t pay lots of attention to every person. The cleaning-service was totally satisfactory. In conclusion, we spent the biggest part of our time in Rome watching breathtaking touristic attractions and our staying in the hotel seemed quite pleasant, but I think that place can’t be the 4* hotel, and I was glad that I didn’t need to stay there for longer time. On the other hand, it helped to save some money and wasn’t disgusting. So, I can say that the hotel is OK.
Comfortable stay. Breakfast pleasant 15 mins by bus to nearest A line metro - then a further 40 mins to Termini. You need to buy a day pass before you can get on a bus, nowhere within 15 mins walk to buy this. Rooms of basic standards but clean. I would pay the extra and stay in centre of Rome. Positive it's only 15 min taxi from Ciampino airport. €40 to the hotel and €25 from hotel to Airport??? Be aware they charge 4* city tax of €6? per person per night 2-3* charge €3-4 per night.
We stayed here at the start of Feb as we had come to watch Italy V Wales in the 6 Nations. It is miles from the centre of Rome, had to get a bus and the metro. Beds so uncomfortable... very squeaky everytime you moved. Sheets on the bed hadnt been ironed You could hear people in the rooms above and next door. Shower door was broken and didnt roll properly to close/ open Flannels provided looked like they had been used thousands of times over The double wardrobe only had one door No tea and coffee making facilities Breakfast was pretty poor, just scrambled egg beans and mini hot dogs for hot food and a few crossaints and cake for continental I guess on the plus side, there was a fridge in the room.
The hotel was a very reasonable price, it's very modern and in a secure location. It's on the outskirts of Rome. Rooms were very spacious and the housekeeping staff were great- very clean. However, there wasn't a kettle in the room which was disappointing. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Rome, the metro station to torre spacatta is about a 20 minute walk. There aren't many restaurants near the hotel as a tourist you would have to go into central Rome for the best food. Breakfast was ok in the hotel. The staff are also very friendly, overall good budget place to stay if you are sightseeing in rome and don't mind a walk however, next time I would probably book a hotel situated in the centre. Also when out and about in Rome and on public transport watch your belongings- lots of pickpockets!
Rooms are big enough but not that clean. For example walls were a bit dirty. Bathroom is a bit dodgy and is equipped with different things for old persons or for persons with difficulties in motion. It is not a 4 star hotel but it is not that bad. Breakfast is enough, coffee is good. It is just next to the bus station in a quiet area but it takes you at least 40 minutes to arrive in Rome. I recommend it for those who want to visit Rome and stay at decent hotel with low prices.
I was in this hotel for business purpose and it is definitely a great place to stay! The location is not appealing from a touristic perspective, being too far from the center. However it could suit business trips. The hotel is very modern, with beautiful, clean, and spacious rooms, including all facilities. The breakfast is good and various, although not a lot of salty options. The staff is extremely kind and helpful, always ready to assist you with their biggest smile.
Giving this a two is over rating , me and my husband went for my 30th , thought it was a 4 star which it is not and not even anywhere near it! On arrival Rooms where musty , sheets dirty, air con was loud ! We woke up to find our room covered in ants (when reported to reception man played dumb like he didn't know what I was saying so showed him a picture on my phone he said he would have it cleaned , returned few hours later and wasn't dealt with so had to look for the housekeeping staff myself!!) and our electricity had blew so room was like a sauna!! The fact that we where charged £45 when checking out is ridiculous! The breakfast was the same stale breads, hotdogs, burnt scrambled egg, and what I think was ament to be bacon but god only knows! Safe to say I won't be bk , we stayed here as we thought it was a short travel to the city but u have to wait forever for a bus then get a train all in about 30min travel, it's 5 mins from airport yet the only transport is a taxi which is a fixed rate of €25! Next time I would definitely stay in the city ! No travel and much nicer hotels with no checking out fees!!
The service was good and the staff was very kind. But the rooms doesn't looks like a 4 star hotel definitely. The location of the hotel is far from the center and it takes an hour with the metro. The breakfast which is included in the price was very poor.
Very basic hotel more like a two star. Only breakfast facility no restaurant or laundry services. Staff polite and helpful. Lidl near by and pizza kebab near have to go into centre for decent food. Can be a bit pricey in Rome. Tip book online skip the queues tickets for things.
