This is a 2 star rated hotel. We were looking for a clean, inexpensive and conveniently located (Roma Termini Station) place to shower and sleep, not a place to spend a lot of time in. We needed the bare minimum. The rating system here is strictly for the services the hotel offers not the actual hotel so I give it 5 stars for the following reasons. 1. Conveniently located to Roma Termini. Cross the street from the station and walk down one block you have arrived at the hotel. We were house hunting in Rome so the station was home base, while traveling from one end of Rome to the other. Within one block there is every type of store/restaurant available from fast food to gourmet, mini markets, bars, souvenirs ect. There are many bed and breakfasts and hotels in this area. We did not book ahead of time and simply walked the area, checked a couple of other places for prices, amenities ect ... which brings me to 2. Price. We checked other accommodations on the same street, it was the least expensive (for 2 and 3 star rated) for the services it offers. There were 2 hotels on the block that were much nicer (4stars), but cost 3 to 4 times the amount of The Capitol, but again we basically needed a shower and a bed and weren't looking for luxury. 3. Services. We arrived after a 8hrs of travel. We needed to shower, dress and be back out the door to meet the realtor. They allowed us to check in at that time with no additional cost (most hotels make you wait until actual check-in time 11am onwards or pay a supplement). Offered baggage assistance to the room. * There is an elevator, however a half floor staircase is still necessary to be walked, not a problem for us however could be for a person who has physical limitations. The hotel provided us with an iron (may not seem like a big deal, but since living in Italy for 4yrs I can assure you having an iron available in a hotel is NOT a given even in higher rated hotels. So this was great). We were offered coffee at check in. The lobby has snack and beverage machines. Each morning free breakfast from 7 to 10. Was a bit bummed that there wasn't cappuccino available but really not a big deal. WiFi is available through out the building, we streamed movies with no lag and in HD w no problems. The WiFi was free. Check out is at 11am but they offered to hold our luggage so we didn't have to lug it around for the day. Staff was informed and very helpful. Siaif (sp) at the desk was especially helpful. 4. The room. Small dated but efficient and clean. Room had double bed ( 2 twins together, something that truly annoys me, but have learned this is the norm in Italy. Even in higher rated hotels), a closet w both shelves and hangers, a desk that held the small flatscreen tv, 2 endtables and a flat wall unit with hooks and a bench. The bathroom had a bidet, toilet, sink and shower. Again small but clean. Enough clean towels and a floor mat. Soap and plastic cups. We took showers both during morning and evening hours and always had hot water and good pressure. The shower head is one of the older hotel/motel models that has the prickly spray, but not so much it hurt. Again I gave this place 5 stars because nothing was missing and the service and price were good. This is by no means a high end hotel. If you are going to be spending a lot of time in the room, or want a romantic getaway it is not for you, but for travelers who are simply looking for a clean inexpensive place to lay your head while running around Rome it is perfect and offers all you need. I read that a few reviewers who rated less stars because of the market stalls out front or because of the outside noise. Yes the area itself is noisy but that is to be expected. I find these comment against the hotel itself silly as the hotel has no say in the where Rome town permits the stalls (they pay a peddlers fee for the space), and as far as the noise again the hotel can't do anything about the trolley/tram line at the end of the block or the garbage trucks that come during the night to clean up or the delivery trucks. This is a completely commercial tourist area that is non stop 24hrs a day. If you are looking for a quiet luxury hotel with all the fan fare this is not the area, and expect to pay at least 3 times the price to have that.
Hi All, I stayed in this hotel, the weekend of the Rome Marathon. the location is perfect, 1 minute away from Termini, easy to find. plenty of restaurants within seconds of this hotel. the reception staff were very helpful, I could have not asked for more from them. the room was big, plenty of storage. however my safe didn't work. apart from that, this would be my 1st choice everytime I visit rome from now on.
Booked last minute because of how close the hotel was to train station ans wasn't disappointed. Staff were friendly, rooms were clean. No complaints from me. Saw others moan about having to climb a few sets of stairs. Wasn't a problem in my eyes.
This is great little 2 star with a good price right next to Roma Termini station and metro. Perfect location if you are using the trains to and from airport or anywhere in Italy. Very clean and comfortable. Good breakfast and the owner and staff are lovely. Saif at the front desk is so helpful. I have stayed here 3 times and am already booked for a 4th.
I took my son to watch the England - Italy rugby game and needed somewhere to stay that would provide a good base for a couple of nights to explore the city. The hotel is very easy to find only 3 minutes walk from the main station (Termini) where you can get the airport train, metro or buses. If you prefer to walk then the hotel is within 25 minutes of the Colosseum and the Spanish Steps with many other attractions not much further away. I take on board some comments people have made about the area given it's near to the station but it's not any different to any other big city to be honest. We went out for dinner both nights returning to the hotel around 10:30pm/11pm and didn't feel unsafe. The hotel was probably a little better than I expected for the price we paid. The hotel staff are very friendly and the people on reception did speak some English although does it really matter? You are in Italy and with the Internet these days what do you need from reception that isn't on google :-) The twin room was functional, bed was comfy and all the bedding was clean, bathroom was clean but a little tired looking and the shower was not the biggest. Breakfast was good a selection of pastries alongside cereals, meat etc with a choice of hot and cold drinks all via the buffet. If you are looking for a good value hotel to explore Rome from with excellent transport links then I would suggest you can't go far wrong with this.
A 2 stars hotel Capitol is situated in the center of Rome, close to Termini railway station and bus terminals. You will never have problems with pubic transports and walking in the very center of Rome. The room was very clean, there is everything you may need while away from home. The personnel is very cordial and helpful (would like to mention sig.Francesco and Sig. Sanif). The breakfast is good (chees, sausage, butter, muesli, various croissants, ecc.) There is elevator to floors (6). The only defect for me was some noise from the street.
VERY close to train station, within 5 minutes by walk, just one street behind the station. There was a signboard and easily recognized, even at night, the lobby was at the Ground floor. Just clarify this point, sometimes there may be several "hotels" in the same buildings, for example, D Hotel at 2nd floor, B Hotel at 3rd floor and C Hotel at 4th floor, the Ground floor is public area. Even there are some hawkers booths in the street and just outside the hotel main entrance of Hotel, initially, I am worried about the safety. On the contrary, I can say it was very safe in the street, even at night, the hawkers were hard working, they was operating their booths at night (over 9:00p.m.). We stayed 3 nights, we got a room with early check-in. The building is old, the lift is constructed in latter stage. If you go to room at 3rd floor, you must walk up-stair to "1/2 th" floor, and take lift to 3 1/2 th floor, then down-stair 1/2 floor. But the staff is very helpful, help to move one of big luggage to our room at 2nd floor. Room is big, our room with a double bed, and a folding sofa (for 2 persons), but we are only 2 persons. The room is little old but condition is good. As we are at 2nd floor, sometimes we can heard noise from street, after 10:00pm, it becomes quiet. The breakfast is OK. There are many restaurants in the way from station to Hotel. within 5-10 min, there are train station, metro station, tram station.......can find superstores, different shops whatever your want.
I stayed two nights at this hotel, located close to Rome Termini Station so easy access to the airport train. Room was clean and adequate, breakfast buffet quite good, staff very helpful. For sightseeing it is close to the Metro station and the tram terminus as well as sightseeing buses only a few hundred metres around the corner. You need to negotiate two flights of stairs to get to the lift and then another flight to you your floor as the stop is midway between alternate floors - not good with luggage. Price is quite good for centrally located in Rome
Good hotel, location is great near the termini, room is average, cleaning is average, neighborhood is so noisy, too many kiosks (hats and souvenirs) on sidewalks and in the streets. Staff is good, breakfast is awful (only sugary choices and in a very small space).
We chose this hotel based on location to Termini station due to travelling with heavy bags - it is literally round the corner. It's not that far to walk to Colloseum (20min) or Spanish Steps ( 20min). The hotel is 2 stars - the room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was clean too but it was a bit worn out - the ceiling had a lot of stains on which was unpleasant and the shower head could do with proper clean to get better water supply. The breakfast was standard with bread, meat, cheese, yogurt, cereal to choose from. The staff were friendly. Overall average but ok to stay for a couple of nights.
