I lived here with my girlfriend in the first part of August 2017. I did not hope that it would be perfect Paradise. I chose this hotel looking al price and placement. The price was the best in the downtown district and Hotel was near to the main sights. My waitings were crashed. Because I faced with helpful personnel and comfortable room. The cleaning was every day after we absent. Every day we come back to the clean room. The shower was also clean and light. The towels were changed every day also. I know that it is a normal practice in 3-5 star hotels, but this hotel has 2 stars, as I remember. And service more than 2 stars. Of course, it had a minus, the walls were covered not new wallpapers but this is one thing what I remember was bad. All other details which may influence on relaxing were great. Every morning we had nice lunch, and we were not hungry up to 5 pm. Good meal. From here you can walk to Coliseum for 30 min, and 45-60 to Vatican. And the close placement of Termini station allows you quick reach to every destination. So I recommend this Hotel to you if you plan a lot of walking around the city, and want to have nice cozy place every evening. And if you count your money.
Only one receptionist knows English and the other rude staff. The rooms are large but the air conditioner is not working, the faucet is broken in the shower (and there is no crew to check in the afternoon). Terrible location !!!! Close to the train station but the whole area is full of migrants and refugees sleeping in the street! We did not dare leave the hotel after 7 PM. There are double windows, but all night we heard the noise from the street.
I was a 19 years old girl travelling solo with a heavy suitcase at like 25 kg. I checked in at night and there were two flights of stairs I had to climb. The staff said he 'was not able to help' so I had to stand there until some nice guests saw me and helped me carried the luggage up. Room was cramped, and it is with a door lock which was impossible to open. Took me 15 mins. In the morning I had breakfast there and as I was alone I took my bag to take food in the breakfast (buffet style). As I stood up to go for the food the lady there stopped me. From her gestures she showed me it is one-time only. Breakfast buffet, but you can only TAKE ONCE? But i was on a schedule anyway so I didn't bother anyway. She was seriously mean though.
Competent staff who is always ready to help, almost fixed rate with city tax written at the reception, nice location close to the public transportation, clean rooms with TV, AC and sweet breakfast every morning, you feel home. I will stay with my friends on our next trip to Rome. Thank you Hotel Capitol team!
Ideal location, 2 min walk to the train station/metro. Room was big, clean and very comfortable with much needed air conditioning. Staff polite and friendly. Breakfast was good, usual continental breakfasts of cheese, ham, cakes, yoghurts, fruit, toast etc
Booked the hotel on booking.com and advised that we would arrive between 10-11pm. When we landed we had various voicemails from a very rude man asking whereabouts we were at 7pm stating that the hotel was very full that night. Room is very basic and needs to be decorated. There was mildew on the shower curtain. On our first night there we went for dinner and a few drinks. Upon arriving back to the hotel, the night porter gave out to us and told us we should not be drinking, which is very strange as we are both in our late 20's!!! The following day my friend accidently left his wallet in the room. Upon returning that evening the wallet was gone. We approached reception asking had it perhaps been taken in the sheets by mistake? We were met with rudeness and aggression. The man was extremely unhelpful and quite aggressive towards us both. We returned to our room and 20 minutes later he rang up asking us to come to reception, when we did so he requested that we pay our bill having previously stated that the bill should be paid on checkout. He then proceded to lecture us yet again. We left the hotel fpr dinner returning at 12.30 am and once again we where asked to pay the bill. The only positive about this hotel is the location, the breakfast is terrible and the staff are incredibily rude. AVOID!!!
My partner and i stayed here for 3 nights. We were very impressed. The room was clean and we had fresh towels everyday. The staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was good, finished at 10am but we came down one morning at 10 but they still let us get breakfast. The only downside was we didnt have a kettle in our room and the wifi was hit and miss apart from that we would stay here again.
I recently stayed at this hotel as part of a school trip. The room are pretty big with very efficient and modern air conditioning. Some beds need replacing and the wallpaper is stained and peeling. The bathrooms are big however our toilet seat was loose and cracked. You can get wifi in your room for €1 per day per device that does work but is weak on the top floors. Also, travelling in the lift is a terrifying experience. The staff were fairly friendly but bickered at times. They do understand basic English. There are two vending machines in the main reception area selling snacks and beverages but there are no prices. The breakfast was good with a buffet offering pastries, cereal etc. There is also a hot drinks machine which is free. There is a tram track right in front of the hotel which is handy. The hotel looks very dirty from the outside but isn't too bad. There are market stalls outside the hotel. It was okay for a school trip, especially compared to another hotel we stayed at in Sorrento, but I won't be staying there again.
Next to termini. Until 23:00 there are local mini markets and fleet sellers open to keep you safe. After then I felt unsafe. Towels (low quality) changed every day. Pretty clean functional room (no refrigerator). Kind, English_speaking stuff...
Good hotel for groups wanting the basic for a good price. The hotel itself is clean and the service is average. Only real problem I had was the flights of stairs! Being on the top floor, it was a real pain having to climb them to get to our room, especially when the lift was not available. Overall, an ideal hotel to stay at when visiting Rome for a few days.
