We love the Baglioni hotels. This is within walking distance of the Spanish Steps, across from American Embassy, easy walk to train station. EXCELLENT restaurant so we chose to eat at the hotel 3 of 4 nights!

Stayed with family for 4 nights. We are big fans of the Baglioni Hotels, having previously enjoyed their properties in Milan and London. The Regina is a beautiful and perfectly located property on the Via Veneto, just a quick walk to the Borghese Gallery and the Spanish Steps, and an easy drive to the Vatican Museum/St. Peter's and the Colloseum, All of the staff were gracious and personable. We always rely heavily on the knowledgable concierge team and they were most helpful arranging guides, drivers, and reservations. Both the breakfast buffet and dinner at the Brunello were excellent. We also very much enjoyed the engaging and well-traveled bartenders, who had excellent suggestions on things to do and see in Rome and beyond. Baglioni properties are an excellent value -- highly recommend.

We spent four days in the Baglioni hotel and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The building itself is superb. We had a superior room, which was spacey and very nicely decorated (loved the marble bathroom). Staff were very attentive, in particular the concierge who booked a private tour of the Colosseum for us with an excellent guide. We were very pleased with the breakfast (you have to try their coffee). The only disappointment was the dinner we had at their restaurant (Brunello), as the food was below our expectations.

While in Rome our family spent two nights at the Baglioni Hotel Regina. The hotel was beautiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were lovely and clean and we found the location of the hotel perfect for walking to most of the main attractions in Rome. We would highly recommend this hotel and would stay again in the future.

Indulgently glossy oasis of calm in the heart of the city - friendly courteous discreetly attentive staff, a spacious room with efficient (and quiet) aircon and a supremely comfortable bed (the balcony with a view was an unexpected bonus!), great coffee and easy walking to lots of top visitor hotspots, coffee bars, shops and restaurants. Fellow Brits pls note - there's no tea-making facilities in the rooms but who needs those with all of Rome on your doorstep!!

We stayed at the Baglioni Hotel Regina this past weekend for two nights and had a wonderful stay! We stayed on the 7th floor. The room was beautifully appointed, clean and elegant. The staff were helpful and kind. We enjoyed breakfast there each morning which was a buffet with a la carte options. The location is good - a close walk to the Piazza Barberini. Although, admittedly, being on the top of the via Veneto is a hard last stretch but we walked everywhwere! Would absolutely stay again!

We had Rome holiday and stay here. Staff are friendy and recognize my husband as repeater guest. Airconditioned was really cold, beautiful room and spacious bathroom. I just dont like the smell of the coridor. Kind like smoking area. Always cover my nose everytime i walk to lift. Really close to central area and easy to find place for dinner. Always ask the hotel for taxi for safety as there are lots of naughty taxi at Rome. We rape of by taxi who didnt drop us at frot hotel. Becareful to choose taxi.

This is a very nice hotel, it is a bit dark everywhere but really goes with theme of the hotel. Staff is great, however we asked the concierge to book us two tours, we find out the Vatican tour is cancelled at 5pm the day before as the tour was full. We asked him to book it 2 days prior. At this level of hotel your paying for service and we ended up winging it, finding a tour at a better price that was semi private. Location is great and you can walk to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain easily. 10 mins max. It was hot while we were there but way it is in August. They took care of the little things so all in all I have to say it definitely is worth staying there but there are a ton of options in that area that are Luxury so it is all in what you enjoy. We booked through Amex Platinum and were treated great and had two adjoining rooms with an outside door we could shut to the entire space.

I booked two deluxe rooms for 5 nights each through American Express' Fine Hotels and Resorts program. One star was deducted for the room (more later) and the other star was deducted for what was a very troubling room rate dispute upon check-out. Thankfully American Express is handling this dispute for us. When we checked in, the lady at the front desk acknowledged our Fine Hotels and Resorts reservation and confirmed the free breakfast and the one night free accomodations that was part of the reservation. She mentioned that we did not get the complimentary room upgrade since there was no availability (not a problem); but she did give us two rooms next to each other on the first floor. I checked out at 6:20am as we had a van scheduled to arrive at 6:45am to send us to the airport. The gentleman at the front desk printed me a copy of my bill for each room. The bill did not reflect the free night nor did it reflect the correct room rate. I showed the gentleman my reservation confirmation, which he read and then started typing into his computer screen. His response was that he could not find that room rate in his system and that the room rate shown on my bill was already discounted to reflect the free night. I mentioned that the total room rate I was being billed was significantly more than what my reservation confirmation stated. He took my confirmation and went to a back room. When he reappeared, he told me that the hotel has no such record of the room rate shown on my confirmation. I told the gentleman that I have a reservation confirmation with a room rate in Euros that they need to honor. He disappeared again and when he came back it was almost 6:45 and my ride to the airport had arrived. This gentleman at the front desk said he will adjust my bill to the correct amount but when he reprinted the bill, all he did was take one night's accomodations off one bill. Now I was being charged 4 nights for one room and 5 nights for the other room. I pointed this out to the gentleman but he insisted this bill was correct. By now it was almost 7am and I needed to go. The gentleman took a copy of my reservation confirmation and said he will forward it to corporate and if they deem that it was not correct, corporate will issue me a refund. I did get a refund from the hotel a week later in the amount of 410 euros but I was still overcharged based on the room rate in my confirmation. American Express is now handling this dispute and I am so happy that I booked through them as their customer service has been excellent. In my 19 years of booking hotels through their Fine Hotels and Resorts program, this is the first time I've experienced a hotel that would not acknowledge the written room rate on my reservation confirmation. During my 30 plus minutes of arguing with this gentleman, he did comment that I must be mistaken because their room rates are not that cheap. I am happy that I must have secured a really good room rate; but what I will share is that if their room rates are regularly north of 500 euros, then I feel the rooms should be better. I have stayed at a lot of 5 star hotels in Europe, Asia and the U.S., and would like to think that I have a good basis for comparison. My main complaint is with the bathroom fixtures and shower. This is a hotel where you must turn on the hot and cold water independently and get both faucets to a point where the water temperature is to your liking. Problem is no matter how hard I tried, you could always feel like there were parts of the water stream that was very hot and parts that were cold. It seems like the plumbing is old. The hotel also retrofitted rain-shower heads on the shower. Nice touch but they used the existing pipe outlet on the wall (for the old showerhead) instead properly retrofitting it through the ceiling. I'm six feet tall and I think the showerhead was about that height as I had to bend over to use the shower. Not what I would have expected in a 5 star hotel. The shower tub was odd in that the plastic was very thin and as I moved in the shower, the tub would flex. Considering the nice marble on the wall, it is odd that the shower tub is a thin and cheap feeling plastic. Then there are the oddities with housekeeping. For example, we got turn-down service 4 of the 5 nights we were there. One night there was a chocolate on each pillow, one night there was only a chocolate on one pillow, and two nights there were no chocolates on the pillows. Not a big deal but service levels at 5 star hotels don't miss on things like this. The breakfast buffet was very nice and many of the staff we encountered provided a high level of service. We really enjoyed our dinner at Brunello and would recommend the restaurant for both its food and its service. The Regina has many good things going for it but seems to miss the mark on things I would say distinguish a 5 star property from a 4 star property.

One of the reasons we choose this hotel (two junior suites for family of 4) was it's location near Villa Borghese and the Spanish steps. Ultimately it was far too hot to do anything other than take cabs everywhere so I can't really address the convenience of the location. Overall our stay was quite pleasant but a bit of a mixed bag. Pros: -- junior suite layout made for a very comfortable stay, with separate sitting area and very large closet space -- nice linens on bed and in bathroom -- surprisingly good restaurant, both in terms of food and in their ability to accommodate special food requests and quick turnaround. -- the idea of the personal room butler is a good one, but after the first day we were unable to reach them so could not take advantage of this service -- included breakfast made for a pretty good deal Cons: --weak air conditioning, our room never seemed to get cooler than maybe 21C despite setting the thermostat consistently at 18C. -- our supposedly dedicated room butler disappeared after check-in despite numerous calls to the number that was a direct connection -- bedding and pillows a bit on the hard side for us, thought others may like that
