Staff was very nice but the room was not as displayed in photos. Older room which needed some Much needed TLC. A/C wasn’t working. But overall if your not spending much time in the room it had a great location and was only a walk from everything.

The hotel was disappointing and although the area was handy for Termini and hop on off buses ,the quality of the room was poor. The cleaning lady was very efficient and helpful and the breakfast was adequate. Anush the reception guy was very helpful kind and went above and beyond his duties to assist us during our stay. Although it wasn't a 5 star place it was within our price range and you get what you pay for.

Meh

No lifts with small staircase. Bed was horrible (you can feel the actual springs when you sit/lay on it). Only thing going for it was the accessibility to Roma Termini.

Roman Stay 2017

The only significant advantage of the Aquarium Hotel is its proximity to the main railroad station, about 500 meters from the main entrance to the station. At my arrival, the person at the reception desk was unfriendly and did not provide the appropriate information about the hotel. For example, he did not tell me that the stairs and entrance door he used to take me to my room were not to be used during my stay. Maybe he did not speak enough Italian to express himself. The other members of the staff I encountered were courteous and helpful. I view this hotel, as others in the vicinity of Stazione Termini, as a convenient stay when in transit in Rome and in need of getting to trains and buses easily. Nothing else. Contrary to the local custom, breakfast is not included. My Expedia notes indicated a fee of Euro 22 for "continental" breakfast.

Nice hotel in the Rome City Centre

It staff are good and interactive. hotel location is very convenient in the hear of the city centre and so most of the sites can be reached walking. Main train station is walking distance from where trains and tubes can be taken to the sites, airport and to travel further afield across Europe. in addition is good value for money

Terrible Hotel, 100% Disappointment

BEWARE!! A total disappointment! The pictures on the web are totally different than the actual place, The entrance is dirty, creepy, dangerous and confusing. There are homeless by the door. The lobby is on the second floor and the elevator wasn't working. The rooms are really ugly and smell bad. The bathroom is really terrible, small and dirty as well. The breakfast isn't a buffet, there's only a coffee machine, bread and yogurt. The room rate should be as a cheap hostel and not as a hotel. There's NOT a free Wifi. This hotel is a total rip off. I would never go back to that place and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Unsafe Hotel- THEFT!

Towards the end of our stay at the hotel, 390 euros were stolen from our room. The euros were in an envelope and not in plain view. We were never informed that there was a safe or anywhere to keep our possessions. We thought it would be safe to keep money stashed in the hotel due to the amount of pickpocketers on the streets of Rome. We were out for only a couple of hours, in that time the hotel cleaners cleaned our room. One cleaned the bathroom while the other cleaned the rest of the room. Once we returned and noticed the money was missing we informed the concierge who essentially said there was nothing that could be done. He told us the boss would be at the hotel the next morning around 8. The next morning at 8:00 we went to the lobby and waited for the boss. She did not show up. We were then told she should be there between 10:30-11:00. Again, she did not show up. We were then told to be back at the hotel by 5:00 pm because that is when the boss would be there. We made sure to return at 5:00 and yet again she did not show. The boss did not think it was important enough to come, gave us the run around of when she would be there, and did not show up to avoid having to compensate us in any way. The situation was handled unprofessionally and there was no justice or resolution.

Do not go there !

Room pictures on website are totally misleading. We had very small dingy room with one tiny window that had closed shutters on which we couldn't get to because of air con machine in way. Bathroom filthy, with cracked tiles on floor and mould around window. Had to put light on in room even during day. Heartbreak hotel. Couldn't even work out how to get into hotel as massive door locked and we thought it had closed down. Only shown how to get in by lady also staying there who happened to turn up shortly after we had got there. Another time we were left in scorching heat ringing bell for 10 mins before anyone opened door. Breakfast buffet dull uninspiring. Coffee machine like you would see in motor waiting room. Looked like dingy transport café. nobody around to clear tables or greet you. No lounge bar, at least bar in reception as in plank of wood on wall, but no drinks, or anyone serving ! Bet we would have had better stay in a prison cell. So much for anniversary treat.

The room itself was fine. The problems that plague it are: 1. The sporadic internet connection, it rarely worked at night from about 10pm - 6am. To me, any hotel that doesn't have a steady wifi for it's customers, is a no no, especially in this day and age. Many of us visiting from over seas need the internet to contact families back home and to make additional travel arrangements, this prevented us from doing so. 2. The downstairs entrance to the hotel smells like garbage because the trash bins are kept there on the ground floor for some odd reason instead of out of site and out of smell 3. Poor variety for breakfast - cake, bread, room temperature yogurt, cereal, juice. No meats, cheeses or fruits n which many others offer.

Really close to the central train station but the area isn't the greatest. Room was basic but clean, shower was extra tiny, wifi was spotty, breakfast was minimal, but staff was nice and everything else was fine.

The staff is very friendly, but the hotel is very noisy and old. The bathroom is awful and disgusting. There's no wifi signal into the bedrooms.

Nightmare

We stayed there for 5 nights and the room never been cleaned. The smell of sewage in the room was horrific. No hot water in the shower if many people were taking a bath. No enough food for breakfast and when we asked for any more food they said it finished despite the fact we were there at 9:30 and the breakfast was served till 10:30. Overall very disappointed.
