We were in town Thursday-Monday for a conference. The outside looked nice and was easy to get in and out of. Directly across the street from amusement part. Some updates in our room. No tub ( fine with us)- nice roomy circular shower stall. Not crazy about the pocket door (shower and toilet)- seemed not private, but our king room was smaller so I get why that was best choice. Room size ok for this trip since we were only there to sleep but was smaller. Bed was not very comfortable. Room was clean. Typical breakfast. It was an economical choice. I wouldn’t say I loved it but I didn’t hate it. Easy I-77 access. Easy to get to Charlotte airport.
Needed somewhere to stay after arriving on a late flight at Charlotte Airport. This is only about a 15-20 minute drive, but far enough that there’s no airport noise. Reception staff were really pleasant. Room was clean and comfortable. And breakfast was fairly basic but plenty to start your day. Would use again.
We always stay at Choice Hotels and this one has been updated and is super nice. We managed to snag the one room that was ready early and although we had a toddler in tow our home doesn’t have a tub anyway so we are used to a shower but certainly ask if you do need one. We always eat the waffles, fruit, and cereal for breakfast but they did have egg and sausage on the hot bar portion. Housekeeping had cleaned our room to perfection & we dealt with a few people at the front desk and they were always very helpful. Bed was comfy and the AC was super cold. There is a gas station basically in the parking lot and a Cracker Barrel beside you that I think you could walk over to but we didn’t try. When you leave the hotel you have a stoplight that leads you directly across to Carowinds so there is no need to get back in traffic or on highways which is so nice!!! The weekdays at Carowinds and their water park were not busy at all and we even went to Carowinds on Saturday and it wasn’t that bad either - we loved it way more than Disney and so many more rides for adults and kids!!! Do not skip the water park - it’s so much fun!!! Great way to beat the heat!!!
This is the worst Choice hotel I have ever stayed in. Three problems: I brought a group and booked 8 rooms. People in 4 of them said the AC did not work. The lady doing the breakfast was rude and aloof. There was never anyone at the front desk. They were always in the back room and you had to call for them. Overall, it was not as clean as most Sleep Inns.
I booked Sleep inn because we were driving back from the beach and decided to make a pit stop at Carowinds for the day. Sleep inn was a great choice and a reasonable price. The room was clean and staff was friendly. It’s across the street from Carowinds so very convenient. Breakfast was ok, they had eggs, sausage, variety of juices, oatmeal, waffles, etc. Will book again when we come back to the park in September for Scarowinds.
We stayed 4 nights. I had mixed feelings about this review. Check in was good. The evening clerk is one of the best. She was efficient, friendly and professional. She gave us a great recommendation for dinner (Capt Steve's). The rooms however need some maintenance and show alot of wear. for our first night, the bathroom pocket door did not close. Maintenance came and said he would have to rip the wall out to fix it. We decided it would be ok for a few nights. The next morning a bug crawled across my ipad and we asked for a different room. The new room on the second floor seemed to be in better condition. We found the dead bolt lock to be faulty and was hard to lock. Then we had to really struggle to open it. Decided for safety to not use the deadbolt the rest of the stay and just barricade the door at night. The linens were clean and the room was as clean as it could be and tidy. During the entire stay, we had the same maid. She was a doll. She was friendly and did a good job at maintaining our room. We did use the washer and dryer and they did a good job with our clothes. The breakfast was good and had a good variety. The food area was clean and well maintained. It is an old hotel that needs maintenance though and maybe some updates. Rating is a 4 because of the personnel. They were fast to react and address issues. They could not have been more efficient and caring. Good location near Carowinds and many places to have lunch or dinner. Convenient to I- 77
We have stayed here when it was named Country Inn. This year it changed to Sleep Inn. Right next to Cracker Barrel, makes it handy to go for a meal or a little shopping. Breakfast is at 7 am only on Sat and Sun, which is a pain when you have 11 hrs of driving to do that day.
Before we left for this trip, I read many reviews on the computer, prayed about where to stay and booked Country Inn and Suites by Radisson at Carowinds for 4 days. I am so happy that I did. We were very blessed by everything at this hotel. Valerie at the front desk was always smiling, cheerful and ready to answer questions. The room was great - there was a Microwave and Refrigerator too. The room was very welcoming and clean. The free breakfast was very nice - you can make your own waffles, they also had scrambled eggs, sausage, blueberry muffins, bagels, assorted danish, hot oatmeal with toppings and a variety of cereal too. Bananas, apples,Apple and Orange juices, hot tea. It was very cold outside while we were there - and a Halleuiah was that they always had Gourmet coffee in the lobby with French Vanilla cream :) They are right across the street from Carowinds and Cabela's. Walking distance to Culver's Restaurant too (burgers, chicken and frozen custard) Next time we travel that way we will be back to see Valerie for sure.
It Really cleaned, breakfast was delicious and Desk clerk was very friendly Lobby was clean and very close to fast food restaurant and not from shopping at target or A hospital or malls or outlet mall.
The location and helpful staff made this Country Inn & Suites our home away from home for the ongoing project in Charlotte. We will continue to stay with you as the project develops. We generally need between 3 to 5 rooms at a time.
