I never leave a poor review however my partner and I stayed there over the Christmas holiday. I was expecting the place to be pretty quiet and short staffed which was totally fine. However, on Christmas night she and I decided to go down to the pool area. We were in the pool and hot tub for about an hour or so when we noticed dried blood spots all over different parts of the pool area. I then went to the front desk after I showered to let the receptionist know and inquire as to when the last time the pool was cleaned and if it was open.

Let’s start off by. I was awoken by the fan in the room. It’s probably off of its track. It’s very loud and obnoxious and the only reason why I didn’t complain was that it would quiet for a day or the evening and then 330 4 o’clock in the morning it would get very, very loud and abrupt. That happened at least a couple of times it wasn’t consistent, but it still did not allow me to sleep very well. There was a wedding going on and they completely did not control the noise. There was yelling there was running through the hallway. There was very loud thump and buds and that happened until like around 10:30 at night prevent preventing restful sleep. The Internet connection kept going down so periodically that a lot of the work that I was doing wasn’t saving and just overall wasn’t a good experience. The staff in the restaurant in the bar area as well as front desks are really nice. I have to give it to their staff, but to say this is the Hilton it was not a Hilton stay. I usually don’t have experiences like this, but this one was not a good one.

I got charged for smoking and I don't smoke. The room was mediocre they charge $3 for a bottle of water on the room. I was scared to make a cup of coffee didn't know if I would be charged for that. I will never stay there again or recommend this hotel

The trip all together was good. There were missing amenities that were online that you no longer have. The bartender was great! He was very attentive & friendly. The one front desk lady was not friendly, almost rude. Did not like that continental breakfast was not included like it is at most other places.

I had booked through an outside party and did it for 10/10 instead of 10/3. “Chantel”(sp?) at the South Portland Maine Double Tree was amazing. She saw how mad I was at myself and better than matched the price I had booked. That kind of human customer service is sadly lacking these days. Big kudos to her!
