Our stay at the Comfort Inn in Roanoke was exceptional as always. Samantha checked us in and made sure our room was what we ordered. My mother is elderly with several handicaps and our room amenities made her stay very comfortable. The breakfast was yummy as well!
We stayed at the Comfort Inn Airport (Roanoke) for two nights in December 2015 when visiting and enjoying another University of Mount Union (UMU) Purple Raider victory in the NCAA Division III Football National Championship Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl. Since the stay was most pleasant and the accommodations most agreeable, we returned for the same in December 2017 … and “the same” meaning another UMU Purple Raider national championship win – their 13th (in 25 years)! In 2015, we were on the 3rd floor, backside of the building … quiet, clean, and comfortable. A very pleasant front desk staff, particularly Brenda Payton, who always greeted us by name. Upon return this year, Brenda was again at the front desk and remembered us from our stay in December 2015, remembered/knew why we were visiting again, and continued to greet us by name upon every meeting during our stay. She and the other staff were helpful with any other inquiry as well. With 2017 being the last year that the Stagg Bowl championship game will be played in nearby Salem, Brenda asked if we would be returning for other purposes or events in the future. We told her it was doubtful, but we cannot predict what the future may hold, and we would certainly make the Comfort Inn Airport our first choice … particularly, only if to meet up again with our friend Brenda! With regard to our room this year… We were in the first guest room off the lobby on the 1st floor, right across from the room where the breakfast was served each morning … a decent and tasty daily spread, we might add! 1st Floor rooms, frequently, tend to show a little more wear-and-tear, and generally a bit more noisy. The first night, seemingly every hour on the hour, we could hear loud talking in the lobby. We wondered if it was the Security Guard coming back from his hourly rounds and jawing with the overnight desk clerk(???). And there was the muffled noise of breakfast being set up each morning, and then the other guests coming down to partake. The noise on the 1st floor was not that bad, but enough to take note not to have that particular 1st floor room in the future (at the Comfort Inn Airport or elsewhere). We would say that the 2015 stay was 5-star, and the 2017 stay was 4-star. Brenda, of course, is 10 stars … every time!!!
I never stayed at a Choice Hotel before and we were traveling back from Nashville and this place was available. Good choice afterall. The price was reasonable and it was easy to find off the highway. Everything was good, great service and quick check-in, very clean, spacious esp the bathroom, satisfactory free breakfast in the morning and I would not hesitate to stay here again.
We were traveling to Augusta Ga for a family wedding and planned a stop in Roanoke VA. I booked a room at the Comfort inn. I was very pleased with our experience. The hotel staff was very friendly. The area was very quiet. Thank there were several restaurants nearby and the hotel offered a free shuttle to several area businesses along with a 10-15 percent discount at some of the restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable. We will be traveling to Florida early next year and will definitely be staying there again. I highly recommend this hotel.
Our rowing team had booked rooms at this hotel for a quick stay while traveling to Pennsylvania. We arrived around midnight and we left around 7:30 the next morning so we didn't do much other than sleep and eat breakfast. The hotel was exactly what we needed. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast had a good variety and was able to accommodate seating for our large group. The location of the hotel was good and from what I remember near shopping and restaurants. I would stay here again.
We picked this motel for high ratings, and we were very disappointed! We stayed for eight nights and asked twice for a room on upper level (to assure it would be quiet), was told all rooms were quiet. When family came in the next day (they stayed 2 nights) they were automatically given the fourth floor!?? Housekeeping was super poor, even though we always leave a small tip in room! We had to replenish something daily, not to mention they missed our room at least three times; one of which the staff placed a do not disturb card she found in the hallway on our door! (our card was in the room). Then she said it was after noon and she didn't clean then! The only pros I can think of is the breakfast bar was adequate and they give you a little rubber ducky.
Otherwise pleasant stay overshadowed by rude staff and silly policy of no late check outs past 11:00. It was a Sunday morning, and I made a request for 10 lousy minutes to gather our belongings and properly pack (I had been working in the room, lost track of time, and requested a few minutes). There were 5 cars in the lot, and this is Roanoke, not Virginia Beach in the summer. For what decent reason would management put forth a policy that prohibits any late checkout (they threatened to charge me another night when I requested the extra 10 minutes) for an empty hotel on a Sunday morning. Ridiculous, and will never stay at nor recommend this property after this rude treatment. Yes, it was THAT bad. Oh, and three calls the following week to the general manager (who was always unavailable and never returned my calls) indicated to me how little this hotel cares about its customers. Good riddance.
I stayed here for a convention in the area and was completely satisfied. The room was very spacious as was the bath and clean. The staff I interacted with were quite friendly and helpful. The breakfast was typical for the chain but tasty and well stocked. The hotel has a nice location with numerous restaurants etc. in the area.
Excellent staff, clean rooms. Close to 581 by-pass. Plenty of shopping near hotel. Parking can be a challenge. breakfast is good. Swimming pool is there. I was here during a football game and the guests were not loud.
We stopped in here on our way to Tennessee, and it is definitely a place we want to return to. Very friendly and helpful staff at front desk, clean, comfortable room, and not the airport noise we expected. A bit challenging access the first time from the highway, but certainly do-able. Good local places to eat or imbibe, and staff will give good advice.
