Good services available at facility... Friendly staff and quick service. Parking space available and wifi also offers. Clean rooms and corridors and having good sitting area. Not sure about food quality and service availability.
Visited in December 2015. Chose this hotel as it was close to my destination, was supposed to be chain hotel and was advertised as having parking. What a surprise when arrived. There is absolutely no parking!!! The area is bad. The hotel has single glazing, so prepare to be woken up at 5AM with traffic noise. All in all, terrible.
Just average hotel in good location , it is 5 minutes away from the kingdom center and al-faisaliya tower . the rooms are spacious with old furnitures . Very bad wifi .The breakfast was nice but the place is small, not enough tables . The hotel staff are friendly and helpful .
Have stayed here a few times owing to business imperatives - and must say that this is the most avoidable place one can have. Though the location is great in the heart of Olaya, the hotel itself is really Old, and maintenance is really really bad. I was first put into a room on a floor where the carpets would be better off being removed... threadbare, stained, smelly. The room itself had rust in the bathroom, and in the cupboards. On protesting, they finally put me into the same type room on what looked like a renovated floor, where the rooms were marginally better - at least no rust. But the lighting was poor and I had to strain to see things. The breakfast layout too was poor, and the elevator looks like it could collapse. All in all, unless you have a great "el-cheapo" deal from them, do not take this up.
I got old style room with very old TV and the wireless internet was disaster. THE BREAKFAST WAS VERY NICE
Located in Olaya, in the heart of the business district. Rooms are basic, clean. Room service is available. WIFI in the rooms.
Rooms are not clean and you have to ask for them to be cleaned. Then arrive to find them as is and then ask again. Internet is useless (again, useless) you need to go to a Cafe and work there. Even if you pay for it, this is what they have. Showers swing between cold water and very hot water every few seconds, you need to be quick and keep your hand on the tap. Reception and room service don't understand English. They agree on anything you say though and then wait for you to call again later. Breakfast is barely acceptable and if you ask for Omelette you get a look. It's not cheap either.
Since the hotels were full at the time we decided to take this trip to Riyadh, we ended up staying at this hotel since it was our only available option. I am still going with the Pro's and Con's scheme. The Pros: 1. Obviously the availability of the hotel. 2. The close proximity of the hotel Failsaliyah where you can go shopping and get something to eat. 3. The low price. The Cons: 1. The hotel is really outdated and I really think it did not go thru any renovation since it opened. 2. The elevators are outdated and shake and rattle when used. 3. The no drinking water in the room. You have to pay for the ones in the mini bar. 4. The AC in the room was too loud and very noisy. 5. Hot water in the bathroom took ages to kick in. 6. Breakfast was a joke and you just had to share a table with anyone sitting there since they did not have enough tables to accommodate everybody. 7. The receptionist charged me for an additional night when I checked in and told me that they would refund any excess amount when I check out although I was staying for two nights. When I checked our they verbally did that by refunding the difference to me in cash and nit ti my credit card. I really do not have anything more to say. Hope you get my drift.
I stayed at this hotel in March 2011. the best part part about this hotel is its location on olaya street and its proximity to the Kingdom Tower, Computer Market and few good restaurants. taxis are the main source of transport and were easily available at the hotel. The hotel is good value for money, if you are on a business trip to riyadh. the staff was friendly and the breakfast although limited in choice was good..
I have stayed at Tulip Inn Olaya House multiple times during my trips to Riyadh. The hotel, as I mentioned in the title, has the distinct advantage of being on Olaya street. Olaya street is the address of some of the major malls in Riyadh. Al Faisaliya mall, Kingdom Tower, Jarir Bookstore, the Computer Market are all on Olaya street and a few minutes away from Tulip Inn. I have actually been able to walk to all these places in the evening when the heat is toned down a bit. The hotel itself is a decent place. The check-in and check-out process is a bit longer than what I would consider good, but is acceptable. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast spread is good. But the room service/restaurant menu is limited in its choices. I ended up dining outside (there is a range of eateries in the nearby area - Indian, Chinese, Continental, Arabic) on most days, but enjoyed my breakfast at the hotel everyday. The only 2 cribs I have are that - The hotel smells very strongly of spicy milk :) - The internet connectivity (expensive at 50 Riyals a day!) was down most of the time. A trickle of data. And the hotel technical staff were not really able to help me much. Taxis are easily available outside the hotel (though the frequency is very low between noon and evening). I think the room rates were a bit on the higher side, but not too expensive. I would recommend the hotel for its location and the breakfast buffet.
