We have stayed here 3 times and can't wait to come back again. We like the location, pool, beach, jungle with all of the wildlife to watch, drinks, food, activities available, and service.
The best value for money resort. Not as fancy as some other all-inclusive but overall is very nice. The food is better than most high end resorts. Activities are so-so. The only problem, if you have teens, there is no teen club.
Spring Break with teenagers was our mission. The hotel was very clean with a very friendly and helpful staff. The grounds were well taken care of with a virtual zoo of friendly wildlife. Clean pool, attentive staff. Entertainment good. Food choices ok. As usual in all inclusive they tend to keep you out of the speciality restaurants with lame excuses. I don't understand this. Overall a good experience.
Excellent location on gorgeous beach! Fun, friendly activities staff. Dinner restaurants requiring reservations were awesome, especially the hibachi. Natural setting with path and variety of animals added to the fun. Only downside was a musty odor in our room.
The staff was so friendly and entire resort was impeccably well kept; the entertainment was fantastic! We went with an 18 month old and never felt like she shouldn't be with us. There was plenty for her to do as well as things for the adults, just within reach of her. The daily activities were plentiful and fun for everyone! We never felt pressured to do anything.
Friendly, helpful, efficient staff. Great food and meal times, almost always serving. We never seemed to have to wait for anything, even though it was a busy Christmas week. And the dining halls were never crowded. Beautiful grounds, pretty jungle walk to the super clean beach. So much to do on and off resort. Always a beach volleyball game going on, everyone welcome to join.
Great service, great food, fun kids activities!!!! Very friendly and helpful staff!!! I will come back!!!
First bite into seafood salad without ice underneath was spoiled food . Not a good start.however steakhouse and Italian restaurants were good. Check in took almost 40 minutes. Asking for a room upgrade took another 20 minutes to figure out. Most beach chairs had black mildew on them. Some you did not want to sit on at all.restaurants that were supposedly reserved in full had a lot of empty tables. High pressure club membership pitch. Prices were from 23 k to 50 k to join. Great pool area.no problem with those chairs.
Todo impecable, muy buena atención y calidad, excelente ubicación
We stayed five days, enjoyed the food, pools, ocean, service and the amenities. We came in a group of fourteen , all had a wonderful time....only one hickcup.....made reservations for transportation to the airport the night before leaving at service desk in building 6443 they did not show up...had to have lobby desk request another ride for us.....Over all this was a five star vacation.....
Recently stayed at the Iberostar Tucan for a wedding. The resort is lovely. The room was clean. The location on the beach was incredible. The food was not great, but not bad, just kind of plain. I also would have liked to have seen a 24-hour food options because we missed meals a few times during the in between hours (usually only had to wait 30 minutes until something else opened up though). They did a nice job with the wedding. The resort has lots of cool animals running around. All in all a great visit!
Only one buffet was up and running ,that was disappointing. The snorkeling combo trip with snacks, not with the money. Staff were nice and helpful. Don't think we will stay here again though.
This resort was very nice. First trip to Cancun and we were not disappointed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location. Beautiful pool and beach area. Lots of activities everyday. Best part was the wild animals roaming freely. Would go back again.
We stayed for a 4-day Labor Day weekend here at the Iberostar Tucan. The check-in process was very speedy, and the hotel front desk staff was very friendly. Likewise, we found the concierge staff who reserved the specialty restaurants for us, to be very polite and attentive. We tried the Japanese restaurant the first night, and it was a lot of fun. We sat with three other families at a huge Hibachi table, and tried just about all of the offerings. The chef was having to cook for two hibachi tables at once he certainly could have used a extra chef. But all-in all, it was a very entertaining dinner. The weather was very hot and humid for three of our four days. But on one day, the weather cooled slightly and provided a dryer, more pleasant afternoon and evening. The most unique and interesting aspect of this hotel is the huge jungle in the middle of the courtyard, that stretches almost all the way to the beach. We were greeted by Peacocks, Tucan Parrots, Lemurs, and some sort of half-bunny, half-rat looking animal called Teziques. These little animals were very friendly, and although the signs indicate not to feed them, we fed all of the animals. In return, we had a parade of animals following us through the jungle in the middle of the hotel. The loudest creatures were the monkeys that swing up high in the trees throughout the hotel grounds. While they are very small in size, they emit a loud sound that literally wakes you up in the morning. I woke up one morning, sat on our balcony, and talked back to them with the same loud, screeching voice. The response I got was amazing I had five monkeys crawl to lower branches, to see what kinds of monkey I was. I loved it. My Wife and I loved the hotel pool it is incredibly huge, and deep enough to actually swim. There is also a separate pool with a swim-up bar and a waterfall. This was really relaxing for those times when you want to be more private and enjoy a drink together. The beach behind the hotel has some seaweed along the shore, but the water was amazingly clear and beautiful. We saw quite a large number of fish in the water, while swimming. The hotel is split into two sides the Tucan side, and the Quetzal side. While they both look the same, we were on the Tucan side and really enjoyed it. If I had to add a few criticisms, it would be the following: add Jacuzzi bathtubs to the rooms, make the large pool cooler (it was too warm), upgrade the food slightly, by offering lobster at least one night a week, upgrade the beach towels to thicker towels, add more varieties of draft beer (they serve Dos Equis Light and Dark I would like to see Corona Light on draft), get rid of the noisy jet skis up and down the beach, and ensure all staff members greet guests in a friendly manner consistently. My Wife encountered the guy serving ice cream on the beach, and one cook in the breakfast line, to be less than friendly. Other than these two exceptions, everyone at the hotel was very helpful and friendly. I found that tipping the bartenders at the beach and pool resulted in very positive service, and upgraded drinks. It's amazing what a small tip will do, in providing excellent service and attention. I recommend taking about $20-$30 per day, for tipping the restaurant and bar staff. It makes a World of difference. Among the many other positives we really enjoyed the all-day freshly grilled burgers at the beach, the ice cream service at the beach, the endless mixed drinks, the sparkling clean rooms and friendly maid service, the variety of fresh fruit, seafood and vegetables at every meal, the wonderfully maintained beach, the water and river features all throughout the hotel, and the huge array of breakfast options at the buffet. While the food was not as superior as our previous stay at the Riu Palace, the animal life and other unique aspects of this Iberostar Hotel, make it an excellent value and choice for both couples and families.
Great hotel - two hotels together. We stayed in Tucan, they had comfy beds (pleasant surprise). Nice location, great beach, my favorite. Food was good as well, decent selection. Nicely kept surroundings, jungle like setting, with colorful buildings. We had really good time.
We had a good stay but it was nothing special. We went there for a wedding and it was nice. Beach was nice although a little dirty.
This whole hotel experience was exceptional. The staff was always attentive to our needs. Food was plentiful and very good. The amenities plentiful and accessible My favorite part was walking through the jungle viewing the animals in their habitat while walking to the pool and beach area. One complaint is the lack of wifi accessibility. This was trying for me as I have children and grandchildren here at home and felt cut off from them. This should be addressed by the hotel ASAP.
This hotel far exceeded our expectations. The grounds were beautiful, and the staff was overly helpful!! There are several restaurants to choose from including the buffet which is open until the wee hours of the morning. It was family friendly, but it still provided plenty of adult entertainment and excitement. All in all in would recommend this hotel in the future, and would even stay there again myself!! The only negative I could find would be that the beds and pillows are a little hard. I would just bring my own pillow form home next time to solve some of that, but other than that we loved the Iberostar!
Very family oriented resort. Not a party/dance place. Everything closes at 12am, except a very small sports bar. All the party is off the resort. There are plenty of activities for all children and a kids club where you can ditch your kid for a while to have a drink with the hubby. Located conveniently, easy to get a cab to town and back.( ~9$). We rented a car for a day and drove to see the pyramids and some cenotes !! GO SEE THE CENOTES!!!! One bad thing: we had ants in our room and got bit up. We didn't discover this till almost our last day so we didn't bother doing anything about it. But I think the staff would have been helpful.
