My daughter (age 19) and I wanted a beachfront, boutique hotel close to restaurants and amenities. We absolutely loved Hip Hotel Tulum. The property is totally charming as was our comfortable, extremely clean room. We had a delicious breakfast in the open-air restaurant and often had a late lunch during happy hour on the beach. The staff members are so friendly, professional, kind and helpful. We struck the perfect balance of relaxation and activity at this quaint 22-room paradise. Renting bikes at Hip is ideal for riding down the road in either direction. We walked on the beach or along the road to endless, fabulous restaurants, took yoga classes at various spas and enjoyed browsing in the cute shops. Tulum is that rare, unique vacation spot without huge hotels and loud crowds. Hip Hotel Tulum personifies this feeling and we look forward to visiting this delightful resort again. Relaxing on the comfy, shady beach lounge beds and reading in our porch hammock are two of my favorite memories.
We had our wedding at the Hip Hotel. The staff was amazing and super friendly, the room was very comfortable and nice. The ambiance is just the best, we were a big family and we felt like home. The food is really god, I loved the Mexican menu and the beach was clean and beautiful! Jorge at the restaurant was very nice to us, as well as the manager and the whole staff at reception :)
I loved the Hip Hotel. It is what you imagine when you think of a beach vacation in Mexico. It is a bit rustic but that adds to its charm. Our room did have AC which I wasn't expecting. The breakfast is very good and the staff is great. I met Cynthia, Manuel and Aislin and all did such a great job of making us feel welcome and taken care of with all of our needs.
Had a wonderful stay at Hip. The room and beach were beautiful. Breakfast was included and tasty, looking out over the sea. Service at the restaurant was occasionally a little hit and miss but the staff were always friendly. Great margaritas, especially at happy hour on a four poster sunbed in the sunshine, on the powder white sands of tulum! Boom!
The best place we stayed on our travels in Mexico. I never thought we'd ever stay in a place so nice. Our room was right on the beach with hammock on the veranda behind palm trees. Its very blowy in Feb so no need for a/c anyway. The wifi could be better but this is quite frankly the kind of place where you can get away from all that. The beach is gorgeous and kept clean. Eating breakfast and dinner overlooking it was a real treat. The staff are very helpful, informative and friendly, both in reception and the restaurant. Expect to tip frequently - you just have to let that one go. If we lived nearer, I would love to go back.
Where to begin. I am hesitant to review Hip Hotel, because I want to keep it to ourselves:) I was a little worried booking what Ana & Jose's referred to as their "budget" hotel- no air-conditioning, no pool, etc... but was so pleasantly surprised. I think our room was the most beautiful we have had in Mexico, and we've been in various places many times. The gorgeous, spacious room was right on the beach, with a hammock on the deck, steps away from the sandy beach and ocean. No need for air conditioning- the ceiling fan and screened doors and windows provided a lovely cool night's sleep on a large comfy bed. Huge, stone walled double shower with plenty of hot water, toilet in a separate small room, a double sinked area for getting ready,a large closet with shelves as well as table and chairs. The restaurant/bar is right on the beach, and wasn't' far from our room, which was nice- and the lovely breakfasts were included in the price. Margueritas were delicious. The first night there (Sunday), they had a really good band playing on the beach, and people danced barefoot in the sand under the moonlight. For lunch, I would recommend the lettuce wrapped fish tacos. All the people at the hotel were so friendly and helpful- that always makes for a pleasant stay. For simple good food with ocean view, I recommend Zamas, and for a more expensive dinner, thai food at Mezzanine is fantastic. If you are looking for a quiet getaway and the ocean and weather are your major desires, this is THEE place. We highly recommend it. Will definitely be back! Thanks so much to the wonderful staff for a lovely time. John & Elaine, Room 16, March 4th- March 8th 2018
My wife and I visited Hip Hotel for lunch, We loved that much the place that we stayed until midnight, every Sunday day have this salsa lessons that I definitely recommend to do it. You can dance under the moonlight with the sand on your feet. Hip hotel is magical! #stayhip
Beautiful, friendly, and low-key I've stayed at the Hip Hotel twice, and loved it both times. The staff is warm and friendly—in the restaurant, Selene and Nicolás remembered me from last year and asked about my family, and at the front desk, Alonso helped us with directions and recommended some great restaurants and cenotes. The rooms are perfect for a low-key beach vacation: cool and airy, with hammocks on the front porch and amazing stone showers. Our shower this year had two shower heads, which was awesome, though I don't know if all rooms have that. The food at the restaurant is great—really fresh fish and vegetables—and having breakfast on the breezy deck, overlooking the ocean, was our favorite part of the trip. It's free with your stay, and includes fresh juice, coffee, and a whole menu of items like chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, pancakes, and plain ol' bacon and eggs. It's reasonably priced—not cheap, but cheaper than some of the higher-end restaurants and hotels. The location is great: they have a big section of the beach, so you have plenty of space to spread out. The neighboring hotels have much less beachfront, and you can see how cramped their visitors are in comparison. Herons fly overhead constantly throughout the day, which is cool. The hotel is far down on the beach road, so it's quieter and less revelrous than some of the other areas farther up, but still within walking distance to some good restaurants, shops, and a little bodega where you can buy bottled water, sunscreen, etc. What else? The wifi can be spotty, but works fine in the rooms. There's no refrigerators in the rooms, but if you buy beer or white wine or something, you can ask for a bucket of ice at the restaurant. Overall, an amazing place to stay, and I can't wait to go back!
The most beautiful place I have every been. Rooms are very comfortable and nice. Food is delicious. Staff frendly. Old TOWN ( ruins ) in Tulum is 10 minutes by taxi. Śniadania z karty do wyboru bardzo smaczne i świeże.
A simple room overlooking the sea with our own veranda and hammock. A Lovely beachfront location. The staff were super attentive and very keen to make our visit memorable. The restaurant had food and drink available all day and we were served on the beach too with a good variety of freshly prepared dishes. It was just too short a visit!
