After an 1800km rountrip with our rental car, we arrived at this hotel, which was pre-reserved for by Outsight-Travel from Holland. We loved this hotel from the moment of arrival. Very friendly management, very nice rooms in tropical atmosphere and, last but not least: everything is very well maintained and clean at all times. The restaurant supplies a very good menu, which is served by nice and friendly personnel. We really loved it !
Its on the further outskirts of the main hub but rather than being zen, its more family (aka little kids) friendly. The salsa night that they put on was woeful. Basically one camp guy dancing in the breakfast room (wish there were more of him thats all) does not make a fiesta. To be fair I was v drunk so had fun but the "salsa" that initially drew me in wasn't that fantastic. The food was ordinary at best. We were there for 4 nights and stayed in x3 different huts as there was a mix up with bookings. The cabins right on the beach are the same price and name as the ones at the back - we thought we had premium etc but were given a room back from the beach next to a family. After moving to the one on the beach front it felt a bit more like advertised. IF you do want to stay here (there are better places) then request cabin actually on the beach and be prepared for not a zen stay, nor a hip stay - the fun is a mile or so up the road - which we luckily found!
One year after we spend our first time at hip hotel, we did it again... and it was even more amazing than our first trip. And its all about the people there. The staff is absolutly kind, friendly and cool. Tulum is one of the most beautiful places in the world. And at hip Hotel, you can enjoy this beauty with moderate prices and excellent service. I don't want to drop names, but some guys of the staff are already are like friends. I hope to see my baseball mate from the Yucatan-Team next year when I'll come back. Thanks for having me.
Very kind attention at the reception. The cabins are really nice. Quiet place. No loud music - even they offer also a beach club. Only for the night time a reading lamp would be great. The staff at the restaurant could be more motivated. But the ceviche was delicious.
If I could spend the rest of my life in one place, it would be here in room 16. This room has a spectacular view of the beach and is only about 20 steps from the one of the worlds finest beaches. After your get your fill of that view, you can walk over and enjoy breakfast without losing sight of the aquamarine water. You will probably take a walk on the pristine powder white sand beach and return for lunch and a margarita by the bar. This is boutique hotel so it is never crowded or loud. There are plenty of lounging chairs, beds and umbrellas. The services is outstanding, always attentive. Someday, this will be home.
Very friendly staff, cabana style room which was right by the road so a little noisier than usual. Breakfast service was great and room had basic amenities. Many hotels similar to this one at similar prices.
We stayed in room 16 which was a superior sea view room, it was so close to the beach and had stunning views every morning. There is a porch outside with chairs, table and a hammock to chill in. Breakfast is included and there was a good variety. There was breads and pastries served with and butter first (both needed as the bread was the driest I have ever eaten!). Fresh juice and all the coffee and tea you could want to drink. I enjoyed working my way through the extensive menu, and sat was especially good ad they do a buffet service that day only so you can be adventurous with the dishes. We had lunch here a fair few times also and the tosatadas were to die for, absolutely delicious and refreshing, fish tacos also a must. It was 2for1 magarettas from 3-5 that were rather boozy! Also liked trying the different flavours such as mango and passionfruit as well as the classic on the rocks! They also done a yummy pina coloda Sunday was salsa evening with a live band, although we didn't eat there we did stop by afterwards for a drink to enjoy the music and dancing. The beach is beautiful and there are so many chairs and beds available to lounge on, certainly a lot more than for the hotel guests and it never seemed too busy which was great. There is a lot of seaweed everyday which the staff do an excellent job of keeping on top of, a tough job moving and burying it every day. The staff here are excellent, very polite and attentive without intruding at all, they like to engage with the customers and care about the hotel and restaurant greatly which really shows. Loved the ease of the bike hire, about 20 dollars cash each for 24hrs but gives you the freedom to cycle around and explore more. Location is great, you can walk up and down the beach and find plenty of reasonably priced places to eat or walk along the road (zero streetlights) and find plenty of choices. There was two small supermarkets within walking distance that sold cold beers and drinks also which was convenient. Overall a stunning location for our honeymoon
We spent our honeymoon at Hip Tulum Hotel. its was amazing!! the hotel is so nice, directly on the white sandy beach. our bungalow was so nice and big and it was directly by the sea The staff of the hotel are amazing, so helpful, so sweet, when they knew it was our honeymoon they offered us a bottle of sparkling wine in the room with a very nice note of congratulations. I would highly recommended this hotel
Much like a bad airline, they overbook their rooms. So the room you pay for and book is NOT what you are going to actually get. We learned this the hard way, when we paid for a nice room with a view, and instead were offered an under construction room that faced a giant garbage dump. After complaining, they moved us to the maid quarters (literally it was the maid quarters). It was a hobbit hut that they sprayed with bug poison while we were in it, so that was cool. Maybe better than facing the dump? We left the next morning, and they didn't offer ANY sort of refund for their false advertising. BEWARE!
We didnt stay at the Hip Hotel but we did go there every day on our holiday to rent a bed and and have lunch and drinks. The staff are amazing. By the end of our 2 weeks we got to know all of them (especially Nicolas) and couldnt have found a better spot on the beach to hang out. Honestly the most beautiful place i've ever been. We were looked after like we were guests and the manager comp'd us two full days for thanks for our custom at the end of our holiday. Truly a company who cares about their staff and their customers. I never give 10/10 for anything, as I always think there's room for improvement anywhere, but honestly, this place is spot on. I cant recommend it highly enough. They also have 2 other hotels in Tulum, which are equally fabulous, which we also went to for drinks, lunch and or dinner and they are The Coral and Anna & Jose.
