This beautiful hotel was hosted by the most friendly of people. Very clean property - the rooms were nice. The pool didn’t look like it was ready for visitors. Not dirty but also not clean. A little work on the pool area would help tremendously. The breakfast? Chef’s kiss - it was out of this world. Only issue I experienced was the mattress was really hard. I think mattress toppers should be considered by management. Highly recommend for a short stay. The staff was so friendly & so nice to talk with.

This hotel has potential but missed the Mark in so many ways. Unorganized staff, that you couldn't recognize as staff, no uniforms no name tags, less than hospitable service. Attention was needed during all 4 nights of our stay to cleaning common areas and the pool. The room was clean and beds comfortable. There was a family of raccoons living in the walls of the hotel which we saw come and go from the holes in our patio roof which made it smell and was very noisy at night. The town itself is fabulous, and this hotel has potential if they would make some improvements.

Employees at desk and restaurant were friendly & helpful. Room was spacious and had a small balcony with a view of the harbor. Bed was pretty new but hard. Pool was cool ... but not cold, and the poolside furniture was serviceable. Breakfast included with hotel stay was more than decent: fresh fruits, coffee, eggs. Beer & wine selection could be better. Rio Lagartos is not a sophisticated town, so don't plan on fancy fancy, but it's a good place to relax and to go on a nature tour (flamingos, pelicans, frigates, crocodiles, mangrove, etc). Just about every restaurant in town advertises tourist information; after a bit, you learn to tell them you want less, not more, information. Price for the room, esp as it included food, was very good, and the staff would make up your room every day if you wanted it done.
