I stayed one night in a king room on the inside courtyard. The furnishings are very basic but comfortable. There was a microwave but no coffee maker and no carpet on the floor. However the room was clean except for some dust on the bedside light fixtures. There are many dining options locally with Aunt Sarah's Pancake House at the foot of the entrance. The next time I am passing through, I would stay here again.
Including tax, I paid $54 for one night. Room was clean, and came with a microwave, fridge and working heater. After a day of hiking Richmond area battlefields, I was looking forward to sitting in a hot tub, but the room only had a shower. Staff was nice. Would probably stay here again.
Absolutely disgusting! The room smelt like stinky animals there were animal pee stains in the carpet. The carpets weren’t vacuumed, there was hair clumps, leaves, and sticks all over the floor. There was hair in the bed sheets. The pillow cases were stained. Large creepy black bugs all over the walls, and a swarm of about ten behind the tv. The walls were so thin that we were woken up at 6 am to a guy chanting clapping and singing to middle eastern music, what I can only assume was a prayer ritual, on one side of our room. The other side brought sounds of awful loud puking and coughing. Save yourself a good nights rest and rent another hotel for the night. I’d rather sleep in my car than go back.
We were passing through and saw signs off the highway for hotels. However, this particular place was not on the sign. We followed the signs to find the other hotels in the area - that wanted double to price. We saw the sign for Knights Inn and pulled in. We got a room right away for $55 and asked for no smoking, but noticed upon check in someone had smoked in the room. The room was dated, but beds and towels were clean. Definitely okay to stay at if passing through, but I wouldn't stay more than one night. It's a cleaner version of a "motel". Grounds were clean and nice. 3.5 stars is a suitable rating.
We stayed here for 4 nights only, because we where required to pay for our room up front prior to check in. When we tried to leave and get a much better Motel we where told that our refund would take up to 14 business days. So, we stayed. We tried to get clean towels and floor mat for the restroom and was informed they had none. Every time we went to the front desk we found a sign stating "helping other customers, please check back later". We had to get light bulbs for our room due to them being blown out. The room was in very poor shape, Nothing like the pictures on the site. You do get what you pay for, beware.
Just needed a place to stay in the area for a night. Booked in advance, price was under $50 with taxes. Convenient off the interstate, park in front of your room. It's in a quiet area with a pancake place next door, but we drove about a mile down the road to a Buffalo Wild Wings (there were other options too). Room was basic, but worth the price. Everything was clean (which honestly was all I was looking for and it exceeded my expectations for the price), the bathroom looked recently updated, and there was a mini fridge and microwave. No extra towels, or even a hand towel, just bare minimum but that was fine. Direct TV with quite a few channels. Bed was comfortable. WiFi decent. The major downfall and why I gave 4 stars was when we entered the room the A/C was completely off. May not sound like much, but when it's 95 and humid out the room was HOT!! We turned on the air and went to dinner. Came back, and still hot. Left an hour or so later and were out for under two hours and got back and it was a little better. Had it on high cool, but it took a good 4 hours to make the room bearable, at 6 hours after arrival we tried relaxing in bed but we were still quite warm, and it never really got cool until about 2 in the morning (about 10 hours after we got there). They need to leave the air on even if a temp in the upper 70s when its summer time in Virginia. It also didn't help that the A/C unit was around the wall from the beds. The entryway wasn't too bad, but it took forever for the air to travel to the bed area. Guess I should've went to the office to see if a cooler room would've been available, but kept thinking it would get better soon. Other than that there was nothing major considering the price. The carpet was tearing in a couple places, pillows were FLAT, and there was a burn hole (no smoke smell in the room though) in one of the comforters but we don't use those anyway, They said continental breakfast on their website but when we left at 730 all I saw was coffee in the lobby. We were going to stop on our trip for breakfast so it didn't matter to us. I would stay here again for a place to sleep and relax for a couple hours or a budget accommodation. Once again, I was more than pleased with the cleanliness! However, if I was planning on spending more time in the room or spending multiple days I'd look for something different.
This was booked for us via a web site then we stayed 2 nights when we turned up and booked in person. he rooms had a stale smell (first one offered was worse than the second when we just arrived in). A new coat of paint and change in carpet. That said the bed was comfortable and shower worked. Air con was a bit noisy so we left it off till wilt level was too high. Not possible to open any windows and one night adjoining neighbours were loud and left tv on all night as they chatted. Staff friendly, wifi weak, (better in restaurant across to the left on exit) free coffee and tea in the morning and laundry facilities available. Close to Lewis Ginter was a definite plus. Only 20 mins from airport also.
We were just passing through and this place had better reviews than some of the others. Close to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. lots of food options around & very quiet. Check in was quick, staff friendly, room smelt strongly of bleach (could smell of worse things I know!) and the room had everything you'd need for a short stay.
The lobby had a foul stench; really nauseating. However, the room did not have a smell. It met our needs as a stopover place, and the price was right. I had trouble using the Direct TV, and gave up after a while. The beds were comfortable, and there was even a microwave oven and a fridge. If I were in the area again, I would look to stay here.
Check in was smooth I booked through Priceline just an hour or so before. At first glance the room appeared clean then I looked beside the chair and there was a large ball of hair on the floor. The telephone in the room didn't work and there was no information as to where the ice was located. I called the office from my cell phone to find out and informed them of the nonworking phone in the room. I guess since I was only there one night it wasn't an issue for them. The room did have a microwave and mini fridge.
