Basic points: I had been driving for hours and hours and had to stop and sleep. This was the only room I could find that was available that was under $190. I didn't expect much. There were homeless people standing outside the hotel room door waiting to ask for money or a ride somewhere. The flooring was filthy, covered in blackened, sticky gum, lint and hair. I ended up using the towels and bedspreads to make a path to the bathroom to keep my socks clean. When I pulled back the sheets on my bed, there was old blood stains all over the fitted sheet so I slept in my clothes. All night long, the upstairs neighbor was clearly "working" as the shower ran 3 times in the night after vigorous headboard noises. I finally just got up about 3am to take a shower and check out, but the tub was filthy so I showered in my socks and then threw them away. Upon checkout at about 4:30am, I was packing the car when an Uber pulled up with another hooker and her drunk john from the casino. All in all an interesting conversation with my teenagers about the dangers of poverty, drug use and gambling.
We booked this hotel online due to its proximity to the interstate while we traveled. We should have spent more money and stayed elsewhere. Upon arrival, I sat in the small lobby and listened to the evening front desk come on duty, complain to the day clerk about the road closure and having to “flip a b****” to get into the parking lot. Awesome first impression. Then our room wasn’t ready and we were told it would be ready at 3. I think we got our keys at 3:40 after we were told the room was finally cleaned. This was probably the filthiest room we’ve ever come across. There was hair everywhere. The toilet had fecal matter on the seat. When I walked outside to go to the front desk, a housekeeper (I’m assuming the head housekeeper as she was holding a clipboard and inspecting the room next to us) was going into the room next door with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth. I asked if we could have more linens because ours were dirty and more sheets since there were hairs all over them as well. She brought me 1 set and said there were no more clean sets. She did bring me more towels and a couple wash cloths. I did let the front desk know how dirty the room was and she said sorry but no offering to help fix the matter. I bought Lysol wipes and cleaned the toilet myself. I could go on further about the discussions that went on between “management” (I use quotations because that’s what he called himself and complained about) and staff, but I’m just over it.
Registering was impersonal. The little millennia clerk was not friendly. Needs better people skills which iPhones don't provide. Wish I got her name. "Welcome to Motel 6. Register on the screen." Don't remember a please. This motel is due for an outside paint job. Looks rather ratty, paint flaking, etc. Reminds me of touring in Panama. Doesn't measure up to a Super 8 or even Econo Lodge.
The physical plant was in good order, freshly painted, plenty of parking. Rooms were a little on the small side, but OK. TV was older model. Few amenities (bring shampoo and bar soap, hair dryer, etc.). Hard floor (wood composition), which was clean. Staff very friendly and accommodating. No breakfast, but office has coffee. If traffic noise bothers you, bring ear plugs. Choose 2nd floor room if possible. Avoid the pool. Great overnighter for the price-conscious traveler.
I stayed here five nights in December of 2017. Physically, the room was OK, as was the price, $45.39 with tax, but there were numerous problems. Some I noticed right away. Some I only discovered after being there a few days: - There is a lot of road construction in the area, making hit hard to get in and out. - You have to pay extra for wifi and it is SLOW. Don't waste your money on that. - The cable TV connection was terrible. Only about have the channels came in consistently. - The housekeeping staff was possibly the worst I have ever seen. They didn't start work until 11:00 a.m., which I can understand, but they usually didn't get to my room until after sunset, or not at all. They took a lot of smoke breaks right outside my door and complained loudly about guests using obscenities that I didn't want to hear. EXTREMELY unprofessional. - Three different times, I got woken up by prostitutes knocking on my door. I don't know if they were staying in other rooms or just came off the street. Yes, I know, everyone needs to make a living, but I need my sleep.
Asked for and got a ground floor room close to nice lawn area to walk dogs. Room modern and clean. Flat screen tv with good cable stations. House keeping checked the room every day. Wifi very iffy. In line with airport landing path...tho I think they stopped planes after 11pm or so...at least I didn't hear any late at night. My room was on the non sun side so probably cooler than the west side. Huge road work in front of the motel...made only one exit/entry to parking area...parking was a squeeze. My room was also on the other side from I-80...freeway noise was minimal. May have been noisier on the other side.
Road construction made it a little difficult to get in to the parking area..which was very sparse. Check in was easy..but I asked for a non-smoking room. But was given a smoking room. No trash can liners, flat pillows, hand towels for bath ..hookers in the parking lot...everything you expect in a Motel 6. Including painfully slow wi-fi. I would never pay to stay here....
Heads up, this is a very basic motel room. The location is noisy because it's beside the hwy, and it's in a struggling neighborhood. The bathroom toilet seat was very loose. The linoleum floor turned the bottom of my white socks black! A dirty towel was left behind bathroom door. I don't require fancy but I do need CLEAN.There was a large food spill (?) on outside stairs that hadn't been cleaned up. BOTTOM LINE: Avoid this one and find a different place to lay your head!
This is a very well run motel. It's relatively clean and quiet. I like it because it a great location and convenient to everything. I also like the fact that it doesn't have a casino connected to it. Quiet.
For $45 I got s completely refurbished room including a 42" flat screen, new floor etc. The management has really cracked down on noise and I had a very restful stay! Located one block from I 80 this is a great inexpensive place to stay!
