Harrah's Casino Hotel Reno

3.5 out of 5.0

Harrah's is an adequate hotel in a good location, walkable to most spots in town. I enjoyed the good view from the 20th floor, and the room was clean and comfortable. However, the coffee machine in the room was broken and they never cleaned our room. They also nickel and dime you with fees and communication about fees was bad. e.g, we didn't know the resort fee included WiFi. I guess you have to ask. Also, the casino is pretty depressing and low energy compared to its neighbors like El Dorado and Silver Legacy. Would recommend heading down the street for gaming.

Room was clean and well kept. Prices was great. Would stay again

Staff here is excellence and has a lot of nice restaurants.

Room was small. Had what we needed though. Check in was horrible. Long line and one person at the desk? Check out was easy did it from the room but everyone was leaving at that time so there was a long line at the elevators to the parking garage!

I don't know what to say. I was just in town for one night but everything was fine.

The room was dirty , there was only one outlet i could get to in the room. There was a coffee maker except it was in the bathroom aprox. 4 feet from the toilet! Im sorry but i dont want poop particles in my coffee . I checked out 1 day early and harrahs refused to reimburse me for the 1 day i didnt stay there. I will never stay at harrahs again! But atleast orbit was kind enough to give me a 50 credit.

Harrah’s Reno is your typical hotel casino. The check-in staff was nice and quick. Our room was in the east tower. It had all the usual amenities and they all worked just fine. We did have to ask for a remote for the tv and the pillows were way too firm, making them hard to sleep with. The only major problem I had with our stay is that it is all in great need of an update. The east tower elevators had issue with their buttons, some of them just didn’t work. Most of the decor looked old and was just hanging in there. Even the carpet pieces that ran along the wall as baseboard was falling off in places. Our room was clean and the staff was friendly, but this Harrah’s needs a facelift.

Reno is the retro experience. It’s charming and nostalgic to stay at Harrah’s. Right by Amtrak and walkable to Silver Legacy, El Dorado and other entertainment venues.

Awoke at 1:30 AM by Hotel plumber working in the next room.

Good place to stay and leave a car before heading to the airport. Transportation to airport leaves at 4:30 a.m which is convenient for early flights. Staff helpful. Sometimes long lines to check in depending on when you arrive.

Check in was quick and easy. Room was older but quiet and comfortable. Pillows were way to soft for us. Toilet lid would not stay up so our bathroom needed a little maintenance but, overall very good experience for only one night stay. Ate at Ichiban inside the casino and it was awesome.

Very friendly and courteous. The staff was accommodating. Loved the restaurants and the machines

Had a good time at this Hotel , also won a little money too

I used this hotel because it was downtown.I like to walk, and there was a lot to see. Also the river walk. I used the free shuttle to and from the airport.

Only a few things were negative to me. One of the chairs in the room was so wore out it was very uncomfortable to sit in. Room 2252 The chairs didn't even match? The second issue I had was an ad on at checkout of a resort fee? When I booked through Orbitz I thought my room was paid in full, surprise!!

Maid service could improve. Upon arrival, room carpet needed vacuuming...potato chip crumbs on carpet. No maid service on Thursday (9/14/17), which was our 26th wedding anniversary. Toilet refilled about every 5 minutes because of internal leak in tank (either flapper or ballcock)...very aggravating!

Two major problems with my stay: The pool is currently under renovation (since May 2017). I booked in March 2017, and was never informed of this situation. On top of that, the hotel charges a daily “resort fee.” The staff says that the resort fee has nothing to do with the pool. The fee covers wireless, the spa, and local phone calls. I didn't need any of those services, but had to pay anyway. The second major issue was the stated included amenity: “buy 1 breakfast, get 1 free.” When I checked in, I was told that the hotel doesn’t even serve breakfast. (There's an affiliate restaurant on-site, but it leases space from the hotel.) Instead, I would be given a 2-for-1 voucher for a buffet brunch that starts serving at 10am. Never used the voucher. Additional issues included no amenities in the room: no tea/coffee pot, no fridge, and no safe. Moreover, you have to pay an RSCVA (tourism) surcharge for staying in an area of Reno that needs some serious remediation.

Everything was fine. I asked the clerk about internet service, whe told me that it was included in the price. However, the next morning, on my folio they had charged me $18? I asked another clerk about it, Nothing she could do...

The carpet was badly stained. It clearly hadn't even been vacuumed. My phone stuck to the nightstand. Also, they charged $14 a night for wifi. The two bottles of water waiting in our room cost $3 apiece. It was awful!

It was fine. Just a quick overnight. Didn't spend much time at the hotel.
