Stardust Motel Redding

Nice staff, but very run down and in rough part of town

Room was decent, nothing fancy. Not a bad experience,

Downtown location, and poor appearance due to a sagging, sealed off archway entrance that looks like it was condemned and waiting to be demolished. Room was as advertised, and you get what you pay for. OK for an overnite.

My room was awefully dirty!!! In the middle of the night my mom and I were waken up many times because we were bitten by bedbugs. We killed more than 10 bugs, full of blood!!! The night was a disaster!!! We could not rest at all! Now we are worried about bringing bed bugs home when my trip is over. Btw, there were dead flies in the coffee maker! Obviously it was never cleaned!!!

This motel was in a great location and easy to find. We found a great place to eat about 8 blocks away and were very close to the Sundial Bridge and Turtle Bay area. The Stardust is a bit dated and needs some updates to the rooms but we were comfortable and slept like babies. The owner was very helpful with directions and was quite pleasant to deal with. Wireless was a bit spotty in the room but we muddled through just fine.

For the price and convenient location, I couldn't have asked for more. Generally quiet, smaller complex, but I'd stay again.

This is the best overnight I have spent in nearly four months of traveling. Despite the very reasonable rate, the room is much larger than any other motel, particularly those in large chains, immaculately clean and fully equipped with fridge, microwave, air conditioner, FULL cable service, etc. The savings on rate were well worth the lack of breakfast, and more. The manager was friendly and helpful, and offered us a swim in the pool after a late arrival, even thought it was technically closed. Well done!

Stardust was basically what I was expecting: a cheap, clean, older motel. Nothing stood out in particular as being wrong or extrodinary about my stay. I just needed a cheap place. My room was clean, with no obvious complaints. The walls were kind of beat up, but the bathroom tile was pretty new looking. Definitely not 5-star, but I would stay here again if I go through Redding.

We were there for a conference so we only used the hotel to sleep, the price was reasonable. As for the bathroom it could use some upgrading but other than that not bad.

You get what your pay for with the Stardust; an inexpensive place to stay without much else.

Stardust hotel is a worst hotel to stay and service is really bad. Room was really untidy and service was worst ever. I would never recommend any one to hotel again. [...] WORST SERVICE.

i slept great and quick check in

The room and hotel were what i expected. Nothing fancy but had all the essentials for a great price. 2 beds (we brought our own blankets, i suggest you do the same), fridge, microwave & coffee maker, tub. the only thing that really upset me is that the pool was broken and hadn't worked for quite some time. It was advertised as working so i was upset since this was an important feature for the kids. and they charged us an extra $10 for our little dog that they didn't advertise. Otherwise everything was as expected. Good value no frills.

We did not like the hotel at all. We couldn't stay because of concerns with our safety and because of the bad condition the room was. Terrible condition. When we arrived at the motel there were people picking up garbage, a group of guys hanging out in the parking lot smoking and listening to loud music, and the motel staff was careless. He asked us to look for our name in a pile of paper while he was one the phone and he gave us a smoking room, even though we asked for a non-smoking room. The room had a window broken and it looked like someone broke in the room, so we were worried about our safety. The room was VERY smelly, dirty and the bathroom was not in living conditions at all. It looked more like a homeless place to me. Not worthy for [...] to advertise it a recommended motel in Redding. I am surprise it happened. This is the first time I have such a bad experience choosing a hotel through [...]. We ended up paying $100 to stay in a nice hotel, much nicer. I am surprised that for $43 we got such a bad motel. It is not even worth the price. It should be $5 a night or $10 at the most!!

This hotel was booked for a business trip. [...]

The place is simple but adequate. Nothing fancy to the place. They have a swimming pool but was too cold for me to jump into it. It's located right at the 44 junction which was really convenient for me since I was driving to the auditorium during my trip. The good thing about it is most people visiting town lived on the east side of the auditorium, but this is located on the west side. So when traffic built up when people are going home, I slipped by all the congestion. Only thing is that they did not clean my room on a daily basis. I don't know if it's because my stay was only two days or they only do it daily for people who had longer stay. So yah, location was perfect. Good for sleeping and resting then getting up to do other things away from the hotel.

The hotel suprised me with an additional $10 pet fee, the bathroom looked like a restroom at a gas station where they don't lock the door, the heat had no thermostat only a wall switch on or off, the TV had little or no volume to try and hear it over the traffic noise. My recomendation if you want a economical room that allows pets, try Motel 6 by the time you add the pet fee at the SD motel you are about equal in price.

Very bad location. Left after the first night without a refund for the second night. Unsafe area I was afraid to go out after dark

We arrived very late due to unexpected family emergency, but we were still able to get a downstairs room and they were very helpful.
