Super 8 by Wyndham Rapid City/lacrosse St

The property was closed for several weeks. Orbitz notified me at 10 PM MT on night of hotel. We had to get another hotel at America's Best Value at twice the cost. Very disappointed that we were not notified earlier.

Booked an overnight stay at this Super 8 on Lacrosse Street in Rapid City SD a couple months ago. After a long drive from Minneapolis MN, we pull into the lot the evening of June 30, 2019 and see on their big sign....."Closed for the winter." Not a soul in sight. Yet Orbitz booked and confirmed our stay there just a couple months prior !!! Took about 90 minutes on several phone calls with Orbitz to get things worked out after we found another nearby location to spend the night. If you are thinking about booking this property...….DON'T !!!

This property is closed you are so bad. Will never use Orbitz again

The place has been closed since February and Orbitz booked me there. Do you know how inconvenient, actually how dangerously inconvenient, it is to show up on a busy weekend for a three night stay and have NO accommodation! I certainly didn't look to Orbitz to find another place for me to stay....

The crib is not enough as they said. The carpet is dirty.

Location was close to restaurants and shopping. Also worked well for base point to tour the Black Hills.

Overall good value. Room/bathroom was clean. The only exception was blood on one of our pillows under the pillow case. I called down to the front desk and was initially told they had no extra pillows, but then said they would try to track one down and I should come to the front desk. I thought it was a little odd that they had no extra pillows in the entire hotel...and the fact that I needed to actually go to the front desk. I had just showered and gotten ready for bed, so was a bit annoyed. We got a clean pillow and the front desk staff was apologetic. The breakfast had a good selection of items. The lobby and breakfast areas were also clean.

Explicitly gave instructions while reserving the room stating need a room with Microwave. Same was advertised as a feature of the room (With Microwave and Fridge). While checking in, staff says they don't see any such comments and they gave a room without Microwave or Fridge. I have 2 kids a 3 yr old and a 3 month old, but Hotel staff refused any upgrades stating the hotel is full. 2nd night, saw a Spider on the Bathroom floor. Clicked a photo and showed to the front desk and they never even apologized.

multiple levels accessed via stairs off a central lobby with no exterior doors. Wasn't sure where front entry was.... very cobbled together facility.

Not as nice as pictures. Nice enough staff but room was not the cleanest.

Hotel was great. When I needed extra towels , no problems. FYI no microwave or fridge. Store right in front of hotel and dennys across he street. All within walking distance if needed. continental breakfast with boiled eggs, orange juice, coffee, two types of cereal. Staff is always restocking it right away. The money was worth it and not a bad price at all.

hotel was ok, bed was very uncomfortable. i asked for extra pillows to assist with getting more comfortable, was told there was none.

Room was just ok. No fridge. No elevator so lug you bags up three flights. While the shower head was at a greater height, it sprayed water at odd angles.

Clean rooms and nice rooms. Staff is easy to deal with, but hard to get to the hotel. They don't take cash so if there computer is down you have to get a pre pay card from Wal-Mart or somewhere. Makes it a pain to have to leave the hotel to get a prepay card and then come back to check in.

Good place, close to main road but quiet. Very nice staff.
