I remember a time when breakfast at any Marriott was the best. Gone are those days. The scrambled eggs are the slimy mass produced version that you get in most hotels today. Fruit is the same, not fresh and very unappetizing. The sausage looks like it was boiled rather than fried. The rooms are very nice, but you would be better bring your breakfast than eating theirs
I've stayed at Residence Inns with my family for over 20 years. This was by far a flea bag motel. When my husband and I entered the room the urine smell over powered us. We were told it was the only two bedroom suite left. Our children slept in their clothes. It was just a quick test stop for us. I also forgot to mention the bugs in all the Rooms and the cold water showers. This hotel is a disgrace!
We are day six in an eleven-day stay here and I have to say that this place has exceeded my expectations in every way! I called ahead and requested to be near the pool because I would be taking care of our daughter after an operation and while I did not want to sit in the room 24/7 I didn’t want to venture too far away from her. Parking is convenient no matter where your room is. When we arrived we were upgraded to a larger room than we had expected and the room is so convenient to the pool. The pool in in the center with rooms on all four sides. The room and grounds are immaculate. The furnishings are very modern and comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped. The beds are comfortable. Outside -he pool is a good size with nice loungers/tables and an outdoor area with soft couches, a table, and a grill for our use. Yesterday when we sat at the pool there were about a dozen fresh towels for guests use. As the day went on I watched the supply dwindle to two towels and then someone immediately came to replenish the supply. The tennis court is very nice too. Convenient and with a nice bench for observers. My daughter was able to bring her pet for comfort. We see well-behaved pets around here but there is no evidence of them in our room or on the grounds. The laundry room is nice and convenient. Every area is well-lit and safe feeling. There is a very pleasant security guard walking around every day. The breakfast is good but the person who maintains it, Jennie, is especially great! Very personable and she is committed to making sure you have everything that you want or need. The housekeepers have also been amazing – going out of their way to ask us on the sidewalks, “Is there anything that you need in your room?”. The folks at the desk have been very pleasant and helpful every time we have contacted them. The internet is very good. When we have needed special help a couple of times we have received excellent customer service. We had an AirBNB reserved for this stay because we are typically AirBNB fans but my husband pushed for us to stay here because he travels a lot for work and he is a Marriott Rewards member. He assured me that this property would better meet our needs – and he was certainly correct! I have not had a single frustration. Everything about our stay here has been perfect! I highly recommend staying here!
After a very disappointing stay at a non-Marriott property we came here for a relaxing night. From check-in to check-out, this stay was excellent. The staff was great and the room was very comfortable - even got upgraded. The free breakfast was hot and delicious plus the breakfast staff were very attentive. Thanks for a outstanding stay!
I stayed at this hotel for over a month and was provided by the best customer service from the following Employees, Ken Mccullen, Marty Stuhmer, Wilbert Hatchett and the Jenny the cook. They all went far and beyond to make me feel comfortable and the hotel is in a great location, near Malls, Museum and delicious restaurant. The rooms are spacious and the house keeping staff are always ready to serve you. I highly recommend this hotel and want to thank the whole staff, this is why I choose the Marriott, for their commitment to excellent service.
Old hotel, but maintained. Housekeeping does a good job. The staff is nice. The food is terrible. Can't blame the cook, because it's bad whoever prepares it. Part of the problem is low quality food provided by Marriott, other part is hotel indifference to the food. Guests complain among themselves about the food. How do you ruin a salad? Make half the salad with croutons. Same breakfast everyday. Yucky food. Close proximity to Research Park attracts business travelers.
This review is really only for the room itself as we did not use any amenities or go to breakfast. It's in a quiet location with good access to main roads. We loved having two separate bedrooms and a living area. It also had a small kitchen which we did not use. Rooms were definitely dated but clean. Bathrooms small but sufficient. Flat screen TVs and comfortable beds. Have to give a shout out to front desk who relocated us quickly when we entered room with smoky smell. Extra bonus: chick-fil-a is across the street.
Great weekend stay. The staff are courteous and interested in guests' welfare. Grounds, cleaning, pool, security, front desk and breakfast room staff were all au point! The rooms (suite) were comfortable, and food was fresh. The grounds and facilities are needing some attention, as most do, but overall it was very nice. It might be helpful if one of the bedroom/bathrooms in two room suites would have handicap accessibility - walk-in bath, safety bars, etc. The doorways are adequately 3' wide. P.S. Serta Perfect Sleeper mattresses - perfect for dreaming on!!!
I haven't stayed in this hotel in at least 10yrs, but they appear to have refreshed it in the last few years (front desk said within 3-4 yrs). The hotel met all my expectations. I had a 2BR suite and it worked very well. As expected, there is a kitchen with full size refrigerator, pots, pans cutting board, etc. Whereas most suite-hotels I've stayed in recently had only a dual burner hot plate, this kitchen had a full stove/oven. The granite countertop was very nice also. There are TVs in each room (3 total) and the bed slept well. Compared to more recently built hotels, the bathrooms are a little small (only 1 sink), but with only 1 person in my bedroom, this isn't a problem. I wish I could give them 4.5 stars, because they do a nice job for a hotel that has been there for a while. All staff were very kind and helpful. i will stay here again when I return to RTP.
I stayed here for a week. If you rented a car, park it in the visitor parking in front and DO NOT unload your luggage. Leave it in your car. Enter the main building and get your key card from the receptionist. Then look for your apartment building, this is why you shouldn't unload your luggage because you might be assigned to an apartment far away. The apartment buildings only has 2 floors. Just hope that you'll get a room in the ground floor because if not, you have to drag your luggage up to stairs because there's no elevator. Either you'll get a room with a view of the pool or a fireplace. There's a full kitchen complete with everything you'll need. The bed is nice. I love the pillows! The TV can rotate facing the living room or facing the bed. It also has a lot of channels to choose from. There's a bath tub and a shower. Aside from the hotel is around 5 minutes drive to the office, I like it! I'll choose this one again on my future business trips.
