I recently had my wedding at Mision san Gil. I could not have asked for a better experience. Claudia, the events manager at the establishment, met my every need as quickly as professionally as possible. Miguel, the head waiter at my event, literally memorized everyone’s drink orders and treated us with a bright smile and service expected at a Michelin Star restaurant. The entire front desk staff (including angel, Odulia, and a number of other young men) catered to my large party’s every need. And the grounds?! Truly a spectacular place to spend the most important day of my life with my entire family. We were close enough to be able to explore the city of Queretaro by taxi, as well as grab breakfast in downtown San Juan del Río Truly wonderful in every way Thank you so much to the staff for making this a truly unforgettable experience
Great place. The waiter Jose Dolores was a perfect combination of excellent service, and being quite the eye candy. The rooms were comfortable af, and the pool is very well kept. Extremely spacious environment, and excellent for a relaxing weekend.
Beautiful gardens, with majestic peacocks, excellent everything, the treatment of Fernanda and Ana during the tour very attentive to our doubts and changes in our event since we loved the garden! The area of the Alberca very father only that it was full of leaves and it took away sight
Terrible customer service and administration. When I arrived at hotel they did not respect my Expedia reservation and fraudulently asked to pay a different price of the night's stay. Once I received my statement and realized I was charged twice, once by Expedia and the hotel. After speaking several times with supervisors they agreed to provide a refund as they admitted it was their fault! After several weeks they have failed to do. They have not return my calls or emails, after they stated they would... on several occasions. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
I am giving this hotel 3 stars because of the great upgrade deal I got, given the original room it would barely be 2. If you get it very cheap it might be OK but be aware there are many shortcomings. I choose this hotel because of the Hoteles Mision brand which until I visited this place have been great, this is the only exception and if they wish to call themselves a "Mision" premium hotel, they really need to improve (or lower their rating to a more honest 3 star category). Positive: - Large and Nice common areas and pool - Very nice cleaning staff (Cecy was great) - Helpful Front desk and bell boy - There are no minibars, but the presidential suite has a complimentary refrigerator full of all kinds of soft drinks, which was nice - 2 Tesla charging stations (an uncommon feature in Mexico) Now to the not so positive... - The rooms desperately need renovation, big time.. - The towels are old and torn - We paid for an upgrade to the presidential suite and figured all would be great and the room was large but still in far from an acceptable condition. - insects, everywhere, the place urgently needs fumigation - water leaked on the floor in the second bathroom (reported to front desk, hopefully, fixed by now) - The pool had tons of insects floating around (we never used it) - Cushions in the pool and garden area were old, dirty, broken and worn out (huge spider web in the sunshade, that was also broken, I guess it hadn't been used nor cleaned for some time) - Pillows were old (one of the pillow covers was also dirty and was not changed during our stay) - Room service menu in the room was very dirty and stained - Room Service was very deficient, the food in itself was good but each time we wanted to order we had to struggle to actually get an answer (twice we had to go through front desk since no one would answer), twice we had to call a second time because they had forgotten something, once it was salt and pepper and the other time they had forgotten the sweet bread baskets. - Although a non issue for most, the hotel has implemented a non smoking policy, which is fine, but if you do so at least try to have a well-appointed smoking areas close to each main area, currently its a few chairs under the sun thrown in a distant corner where the convention center is and it looked more like an afterthought than actual planning, keep in mind the gardens are huge and there is more than sufficient space. - The front desk staff, although helpful and friendly could use a sexual discrimination course, they greeted me but not my wife on two occasions (the second time annoying her enough to leave with a bitter taste given all the other multiple failures).
Had an amazing time this past weekend in Queretaro. Is the 2nd time I raced in Challenge San Gil. And stayed in the Mision San Gil hotel. The hotel is beautiful and has an amazing service. I highly recommend this hotel and I’m looking forward for next year!
I went to compete this weekend to the triathlon Challenge San Gil and I had a really great time in the thiatlhon and in the hotel. It is a really nice hotel with large green areas and a nice pool. Great location.
We live in Queretaro city, and my wife made this a mini-honeymoon surprise for me. We had a wonderful time that included a (surprise for me) romantic dinner in the kiosk at the back of the hotel. This event was arranged to perfection by Claudia L., the social events manager, who accommodated the very particular specifications of my wife demanded. Our room included a hot tub/jacuzzi and the 'romantic' package also included several other touches in the room - champgane, rose petals, etc. - that made it a wonderful weekend for us (also, we were able to extend our stay in the afternoon for a reasonable extra fee. Bed very comfrotable, everythingin room clean, no complaints. The service was generally excellent and attentive - judging by the other comments, it looks like it has been improving a lot recently. The pool was clean, without heavy chlorine and comfortably warm (we could have done without the blaring music...) Pool and ping-pong tables in fine shape. We did notice that the climbing wall and a couple other installations were out of service; they probably aren't necessary. We enjoyed the Sunday brunch and the rest of the food as well, and particularly the fine-quality mezcal in the bar. Overall, a very pleasing experience, and we hope that as time goes on, San Gil will rid itself of the ills of elegant Mexican hacienda hotels (we have stayed in several) - playing the wrong type of popular music (US Top 40, etc.) over the speakers in the restaurant, and go with a more elegant and classy playlist or, ideally, an in-house musician or two.
I went with my family to relax during the weekend, we wanted to stay a colonial hotel type and this was just a good option. We where impressed by the green areas, beautiful gardens and water features. We had a big expectaction for the swimming pool but we got very disappointed, since the water was very dirty and green. I really enjoyed the restaurant, the food, specially Sunday brunch, the tennis courts and, ping pong. The billiard had broken sticks, impossible to play. My only concern besides the dirty swimming pool was the bad instalation of the steel cables for the zip lines directly to the tree with no protection, this is basically killing the tree.
Watch carefully as you exit the highway it comes up quickly!! Hotel was good. Rooms clean, however the junior suite upgrade was not worth it. Be a little careful, Hotel had real issues with billing, and tried to charge me twice for a prepaid room booked online. Great coffee in the morning at the lobby and friendly staff.
