This was my 3rd trip to SJR, but my first staying in the Hampton. I was relieved when we checked in. The staff was friendly and spoke English. Our rooms were very clean. Breakfast was not for my taste.
I am in San Juan del Rio a lot on business and have stayed at several hotels in town. The Hampton inn in San Juan del Rio is the best choice for business stay in the area. Consistent with all Hampton Inn hotels, a sure thing
This hotel is nice, kind employees, reasonable price, good location. But their taxi service is sometimes hell. We scheduled pick up service from company to hotel everyday during my stay. Most days worked well but ‘sometimes’ we had had to wait for 1 hour without any explanation. I called hotel to ask the transportation at that every time, but employees couldn’t speak english. That situation ruined every good impression remain in my mind. Generally this is nice hotel, needs to improve their service for transportation in order to be ‘Hilton hornors’ class.
As a Diamond Member at this chain, I can attest that these are absolutely the tiniest rooms I've ever experienced at a Hampton Inn. You get claustrophobia if you stay inside one for too long. Worse, you are surrounded by noise, from a major roadway to incredibly loud industries all around. While this is a newer property, some older ones in this chain are far nicer. Oh, and when I came to check in, it took nearly 10 minutes for the front desk person to appear and attend to me. Not good, not good. Stay away. There is a much nicer Holiday Inn just up the road.
This hotel is in a great location if you have business in San Juan del Rio. Walking distance to restaurants or you can take a cab. Saves about an hour drive in the morning and 2 hours in the evening to Queretaro. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean.
Great room layout & clean room and bathroom. Coffee maker - hair dryer provided. Convenient location for me. Only minor problems were lack of whole vegan foods for breakfast and I couldn't adjust the heat w/ the remote.
I stayed for about 10 days, the personal its magnificent really enjoyed it. Theres restaurant for dinner from tuesday to friday and its really good food. The laundry service its not good, i hope it change because uts necesary
Stayed here for a couple nights for work. Check inn was quick, room had what was needed and the internet worked. Can't complain. The staff were all friendly and when I go back to this area again, I am sure I will stay here.
First impression - Front desk. No one is there. Waited about 10 minutes. The guy showed up. No apologies. No nothing - You want check in?... YES... I asked: Is my room far from elevator? Answer - YES... I go to my room. It is THIRD ROOM FROM Elevator. I guess he meant my room doesn't kiss the elevator... Second impression - room... I just had 4+ hour flight and drive. Tired. Come to bed, fix pillows - there is A HAIR ON ONE PILLOW! Wait a minute! Aren't they supposed to put clean sheets? Third impression - GYM... What gym? There's a small room, with old, not a good quality equipment. 1 treadmill, 1 eliptical, 1 stationary bike... One bench for bench presses (maximum weight was about 30lbs or something), and 1 decline bench for crunches. Even with only these they are stacked, so that there's no room for anything else. This is good enough to put a check-mark to say they have a exercise room, but from efficiency and usability standpoint - USELESS. Fourth impression - Showers - What I liked is it is standup shower, rather than bath tub. Drainage could be better though. Fifth impression - Breakfast - Just decent - nothing to brag about. Artificial eggs, cold warmm food, but good choice of breads, cereals, and you can make your own waffle. Robusta coffee is lukewarm from the thermos, and not robust :) Sixth impression - Dinner and bar - good choices of drinks, beer, limited but decent food. Only kind of positive that I saw... Anyway, if you're in town on business for a few days and will be in the room only to sleep and can get good coffee outside, this hotel could be a stopover.
Has a great small bar and a restaurant in the hotel. The food choices were limited but the food was good. I stayed for 2 weeks and the staff was very helpful and kind even though I didn't know any Spanish. It is within walking distance to a few other good restaurants. I would stay here again.
