Holiday Inn Express Hotel San Juan del Rio

This hotel is a good price for those that only want to use their hotel room as a "home base" while doing a lot of activity outside of the hotel. The bedroom/bathroom was modern and spacious. The bed and pillows were extremely comfy. The TV would occasionally go out and I couldn't get it back on unless I removed my hotel card from the holder near the door for a while. The biggest complaint that I have about the bedroom (and in the end, did not affect me as much as it might others), is that the air conditioning is loud with both a humming noise and a soft "thudding" noise that happens all night. The breakfast buffet was an "extended" continental in that they had basic continental breakfast, with a few hot dishes offered such as eggs or french toast - they also had the fruit switched up each day. The location is a bit out of the way and on a weird road where you actually have to drive past the hotel then do a U-Turn a few blocks down, but this means that the hotel is also quiet overall. If you are an American sports fan, there is an american sports bar right in the parking lot of the hotel for all your NFL and MLB needs. Overall, this was a good, basic stay.

Good option to stay in San Juan del Rio, include a light breakfast, free parking lot and free wifi in all hotel areas. they leave me two bottle of water everyday. It is located in a good area near highway

Clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. Good pool and gym, staff is super friendly and the service it's great. I was not very happy with the breakfast but is included. Very good location. In general it's a great option.

We stayed here at this hotel couple weeks ago. I called ahead of time and arranged their complimentary airport pickup, they were waiting for us with our name on a sign, no hassle. The guy who picked us up and all the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Specially Michelle helped us a lot. The taxi service they were using was excellent and we felt safe, because they came back to pick us up. We had a problem with travel web site, hotel saw the reservation but not the payment. We made another payment but just before we left the hotel they solved the problem and refunded our money. If we ever go back there we would choose this hotel over any authentic hotel because it's modern just like our taste. Thanks for the hospitality 😊

Good, little hotel. Newer. Very nice staff and service. Clean rooms with the standard amenities. Little shop with basics. Basic breakfast buffet. Karaoke bar within walking distance. Also very close to town with tons of shops and local restaurants and nice walking areas.

If you are looking for a nice, Clean, well located hotel that caterers to Norte American expectations then this hotel would be a good choice. The rooms are very nice quite and clean. The bathrooms have tubs with showers and a separate sink area. Sometimes they will neglect to resupply you with wash cloths but there are always enough towels. Breakfast is served at 6am eggs toast coffee fruit cereal and some Mexican favorites. There is a pool that is enclosed which was very warm and muggy and the pool itself had a water temperature of at least 90 deg. F. Not refreshing at all. The service is great and the people there genuinely want your stay to be a pleasant one. You are in walking distance of 2 very good and very inexpensive restaurants. Take a 20 minute drive to Querétaro and you well see one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico and take in the true Mexican culture, food and wine.

I wasn't sure about the brand, because a couple of years ago I had a terrible experience at the Holiday Inn Express - Baton Rouge. But we were tired of the road and it was getting late so we decided to give the brand a second chance. I'm glad we did. Great staff, very safe, clean, awesome pool (my kids loved it), room service by a nearby restaurant. The hotel manager is going up and down all the time, keeping an eye on every detail. Safe parking with security cameras all over the place and guards going around the property. I highly recommend it.

The rooms are spacious & clean. The staff are very pleasant. The beds are extremely comfortable. It is very easy to connect to the WiFi & the connections are plenty strong. The only complaint that I have (& it's a big one that is NOT the fault of IHG/Holiday Inn) is that there is a metal stamping operation at the factory next door & the constant thumping of the press is heard & felt in every part of the hotel. If they are not working at night, you can get a good night's sleep; if they are working late shifts...good luck. If not for the noise/vibrations, I would rate this property 4/5.

I stay in hotels about 100 nights a year, and this is the very first time I've ever checked into a hotel, been given the keys, only then to be told, 'Oh, wait, the room we have reserved for you is already occupied by someone else.' Bizarre, and the explanation they gave for this snafu made no sense at all. Still, it's a good value. The breakfast bar sucks. The powdered orange juice (powered orange juice in Mexico!, the land of oranges) is the color orange, but it has no taste whatsoever. There is no cream for coffee (except the nasty powdered stuff). The employees are behind a one-way mirror, and give no service at all. Even on the morning of Christmas day, they end breakfast service at 9 a.m., though they know that most of their guests haven't even woken up yet, because in Mexico, the Christmas celebration starts on Christmas Eve and lasts until early morning. So this is one of the most idiotic policies you can imagine. If you are not planning to use their wonderful heated swimming pool, then I would personally would recommend that you stay at the Hampton Inn, which is close by and offers much more professional service and a much better breakfast bar (with much more reasonable hours). Still, this HI Express IS a good value for the money.

Show up like a 3am and the reception was great they asked about are trip got us the perfect room and the hotel is beautiful it's a great price has breakfast great pool The only thing that I would made it better could have been if they had more equipment in there gym but I definitely enjoyed my stay 😊😊
