Distance from Queesntown CBD was a little far, but it was in a beautiful location for views of the lake and the Remarkables. Room facilities were very good, kitchen for own cooking was great, view of the lake from the lounge area, beds were comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful - they knew the local area well and happy to provide advice on things to do from this location, best way to get there etc.. Would probably stay here again if/when I return to Queenstown,
Horrific! Rooms were fine enough but charging us twice for the room when specified not to use the card used to book is a joke! We phoned an hour before we got there as thought reception closed earlier than it did. Was asked on the phone if we would like payment taken from held card details to which the response was no. We arrived, the reception was open so we went in to pay having not known payment had already been taken and they happily took our money...AGAIN! So now 5 days after noticing money still hasn't been returned, due to them "reaching their refund limit" not speaking volumes for the company at all!!! Will be back in Queenstown in 4 days if still no money then police will be involved. Writing this review annoys me as I don't like to bash companies unless it's due but I feel this is more fair!
Stayed here for a night - Room was clean and had a comfortable bed. But it was not sound proofed - We can hear the cars whizzing around all night. Our rooms had a connected door to the other room (Though it was locked, I didn't feel comfortable - Some complained about the noise in the previous reviews) Overall I don't see this as a 5 star hotel. It was more like your average serviced apartment
We stayed at the Mantra Marina for 5 nights which was more than enough! The hotel rooms appear to be closest to the busy Frankton Rd rather than the apartments which face the water. Hotel rooms have the bare minimum of amenities - it would have been nice to have an iron but alas none in the room and none to be found in the guest laundry area. When we first arrived the bathroom appeared to have the remnants of the previous occupant’s false eyelashes stuck on the window frame and either blood or some other unpleasant bodily fluid smeared near the top of the door. Despite the room being serviced daily, neither of these things were picked up and I would imagine they are still there now. I did go to reception to let them know, but after ringing bell as requested no one appeared despite waiting. The cleaning of cups was also hit and miss - we would have done this ourselves, but there are no kitchen facilities bar a microwave in the hotel rooms. The bed was both hard and uncomfortable so I would not recommend if you are susceptible to back issues. Queenstown itself was great-just not our accommodation. By the way they advertise that they book tours, but they don’t yet - apparently that’s happening sometime in the future.
I like this hotel's location and price of course! But still can hear our neighbour (Chinese people) keep talking and laughing loudly around 1:00am. :( Next time we will send a notice that don't give us a room which is next to the loudness people.
These Motel apartments present value for money. Rooms are not large but are well fitted out and very comfortable. Well worth a visit. The bonus is that the lake is a 20 metre stroll from your room. Not all that close to Queenstown shops but close to the newly developed Frankton shopping development. Give it a try if you are on a budget or looking for something away from all the buzz.
Located right on the shores of lake Wakatipu. We had booked a double room....the reviews mentioned the noise of busy Frankston Rd. We contacted the Mantra and asked for a quiet room which we got. Beautiful views of the lake from the room. Nice modern room, spacious and a comfy bed. Nice walking track in front of the Mantra along the lake. Approx 100m from the "Boatshed", where you get a great breakfast with more lake views. Would stay at the Mantra anytime !
Stayed 6 nights in a 2bed deluxe apartment. Entered to fresh hot bread cooking in kitchen-smelt divine! Very spacious living dining area with partial lake views. Bedrooms set apart from living for kids was good at bedtime as quiet down the hall from tv. Bathrooms clean and tidy and loved the underfloor heated tiles. Handy hidden laundry. Dishwasher was partially broken? Very convenient to airport. Plenty of parking and easy drive in to town. Definately recommend staying here.
We have stayed in Mantra hotels before and have learned to expect a certain quality for the money we pay. We stayed two nights in Mantra Marina - 15th and 16th September 2017. Mantra Marina is in a great location Wigan excellent view of the lake. It is spacious and comfortable. It was clean. It had an iron, a washing machine and a drier. I would have left a 4-5 star review - but then this happened. We arrived late. Reception was closed and the key and instr were left for me to collect. I run an online business and need to check emails and sales daily. When I tried the wifi username name and password it didn't work. As it was late, I decided not to call the duty manager. Next day we left early and returned around 8 pm. Tried wifi. No luck. This time I called the duty manager. Her name was either Kath or Cat. When I told what the issue was , she didn't apologise and justify gave me a new username and a password. When I tried to ask her why the first one didn't work, she angrily cut me off and said " just listen to me " in an angry tone. I was shocked and hurt. I've never had such treatment from any hotel staff ever before. I asked her again why the first one didn't work. Then she lied and said that I had already used the data allowance- when in fact I couldn't even log in. The next morning when I went to check out, the name tag on the receptionist said 'Cat'. She was friendly. I don't know whether it's the same woman or a different one. Whatever it is, I was shocked and hurt. Facilities is not everything. You need to treat your customers with respect.
The Mantra Marina was wonderful. Located right on the lake, it overlooks a beautiful landscape, with walking/riding track right at your door. The 2-bedroom apartment accommodation was excellent - really spacious, very clean, well serviced, good heating/cooling and ensuite bathrooms. Will definitely stay here again. Bus stop into Queenstown town centre is at the front of the property, and you can get the outbound bus to the airport from across the road. Plenty of free parking on-site. Supermarket is a short car ride away, as is the airport. All-round excellent accomodation.
