This hotel is very well placed for the centre of Pau, but it is looking tired and needs a bit of refurbishment. The room was of a decent size, but cold when we arrived and we were pleased to be given an electric fire. One serious fault is that the WiFi connection only allows one appliance to be connected in the room if the same email address is used - we only have one email, so only one of us could use the WiFi at a time - very poor organisation. Also the coffee machine is fine, but I wanted hot water for my own tea bag. Not possible. A disappointing stay.

The hotel is surprisingly old and need some maintenance work pretty badly. The room assigned to me when I arrived smells so bad, moldy and disgusting. after blowing the air for 5 minuets, i decided to ask for a change: no way i can sleep in this kind of room. Luckily there is a spare one which doesn’t smell anymore, even though the bed is made of two twin sized put together. stay away if you can.

Very quirky old building in the centre of town - easy walking distance to the promenade to view the Pyrenees and the chateaux (very worth a few hours to visit ). Room was very large with a great shower - water pressure fantastic ! Parking close by and managed to get our estate car in and out without the usual difficulty posed by underground carparks !

Very central location. Very old hotel, even though it is a best western. Very quiet and well renovated interior. Good walking opportunities around like the castle of Pau or the promenade with great views of the Pyrenees, if it doesn’t rain... and it rains a lot here. Still, very nice area to visit due to special food - foie gras (I know!) - Madiran - absolute excellence although very heavy red wine.

The staff here were very helpful to us especially since we spoke so little French. The were right there to help me get in my room when I had a difficult time with the key. They brought an extra towel promptly when I requested it. The room was not air conditioned as many are not.. With the temperatures in the 90's thankfully they had a fan in the room. This hotel is very convenient to the older part of Pau and lovely to walk from the hotel to sites and restaurants. The hotel was doing some construction on the front so they put us in a room that seemed to be located next to the back fire escape?? We had to go thru 2 doors to get into our room. But it was quiet and modern.

We stayed in a room for 3 which was large and roomy. The room was in good condition though a little tired. The bathroom was excellent with very clean and modern furnishings. Pau was really hot when we stayed and it would have been good to have air conditioning. This hotel also allowed our pet dog to stay with us The hotel is really well located in the centre of Pau and very close to the shopping and main square. A real bonus is that it has its own parking very close to the hotel with secure access. You need to go into the hotel and ask for the code and they will tell you where to go. The staff were very friendly.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Couldn't fault the cleanliness but the room needs a makeover. No drawers to store belongings & the wardrobe not suitable for a family if staying more than a couple of nights. Beds a bit hard too.

Very friendly staff. Great location. If you have a rental car and not used to drinking in Europe it will be a challenge with the narrow roads and one-ways. Suggest to park in a nearby public garage and walk to the hotel. It is about €20/day. Old hotel but good for the price.

If you want to experience a sort of shabby chic classic European hotel at a reasonable price..this is the place. We spent two nights here on our way to points north in France. Loved the old fashioned feel...even though there was opportunity for some paint freshening up...the hotel is clean, the staff very friendly and nice. The breakfast was good; and the yummy afternoon pastry snacks were from local pastry shops and yummy. Very very centrally located in the town. Within walking distance of shops and sites. What awesome views of the Pyrenees Mountains...A charming Boulevard. Near to a great restaurant and creperie that we will be talking about for a very long time.

We were met by a lovely lady receptionist who could not have been more friendly. We were also given what must have been an upgrade to a huge round corner room. Bearing in mind that prices include an excellent location, free parking, free pets and continental breakfast....this is a fantastic value for money hotel!
