Xeliter Golden Bear Lodge Cap Cana4.0 out of 5.0

I recently stayed at Xeliter Golden Bear Lodge 1 week ago in Cap Cana & loved it. If you are looking to relax and totally decompress this is the place for you. Talk about quiet - you could hear a pin drop. Sliding patio doors wide open and all you hear are the birds & see the golf course and ocean. Very close to Punta Cana and easy to find. I really enjoyed the pool which was also very very quiet. If you are looking to relax this is the place to go. I was on the 3rd floor, the bedrooms were cool for sleeping and the accommodation was more than comfortable. I highly recommend it!
I actually cannot believe the restaurant and bar are closed. But are advertised on their website and I was given a brochure about it upon arrival. This has been the case for some time. There is no phone in my deluxe room so you have to use your cellphone. ... by the way this is a Saturday night and there are people staying here. I hope this will help you avoid a horrible experience.
I'll start with the good thing I appreciated the most about this hotel: for the price we payed, the apartment I stayed in (two bedrooms with a living room and a kitchen) is huge. Things I didn't like: - When you arrive, the young man at the check in is very kind and welcoming, but once you are in your room, if you have any issues you won't receive any help and your issue won't be fixed. We had to call twice because there was no hot water (For me, hot water is very important), after they finally sent a guy to fix it... Whatever he did, didn't work so we ended up just accepting the fact. - The rooms are dusty and we found many insects (cockroaches and spiders)
I was in Alsol Luxury for a weekend and the apt I was given was very spacious, very clean and had a wonderful view from the balcony. The pools were very nice kept and the staff were very welcoming. It was a great experience and I will defenitly do it again.
I was in this unit from Nov 30th 2015 until Jan 6th 2016. Since day number one we had many issues..: 1- Water coming from the sealing continuously and when we call Ross Voermans from classical realty she never came in the total of days to resolve the situation (she just came the day we were leaving the unit). She was just giving excuses and never came in. 2-master Bathroom shower was clotted and we send multiple emails and never resolve the situation. 3- the first 2-3 weeks we did not had hot water and even that people went to fix it, it took 2-3 weeks to resolve situation,. 4- Jacuzzi pump was not working. 5- Cleaning lady did a terrible job every week and we had to finish her lousy cleaning every week. 6- The best when I started asking about Ross to all the employees from the Golden Bear Lodge, all of them coincide that she is a terrible person to be dealing with and that she never listen to the customer complaints. Even the people who work for her (cleaning and maintenance personnel) were on the same page on how terrible and liar she is with costumer as she did not give you all the actual pictures of the property and apt is on lousy conditions. If you make the mistake to rent with her I am sorry for you as she is very unprofessional, liar and nonpersonable.
If you are looking for a place to rent an apartment in Punta Cana this is a good option. This complex is located inside of the Cap Cana Group with ease access to the Punta Espada Golf camp. At the Marina you have some eating options and stores. Api Beach and Juanillo are your closest venues for bars and beaches to relax and have a chill time.
Amazing scenery here, maybe because it's the only beautiful place I've been to nature-wise. I came with a group of students for one week and we enjoyed our stay overall. We were out most of the daytime on weekdays (10am-5pm) for studies but we were there during the nights and early mornings, which were beautiful standalone. There wasn't much to do in regards to actual activities nearby, or even human life. The nearest village was a walk in the pitch dark through some forests. PROS -Beautiful scenery -Quiet, great for couples I'd imagine -Great for golf (huge course on site) -Suites are amazing, spacious, clean CONS -Not much to do in the area -Empty -No WiFi, only wired slow internet with very short cords (bring your own cord if you choose this place) -Staff didn't speak or understand English well -Someone there wasn't trustworthy. I put a "Do not enter/disturb" sign on my door because I don't want room service. A few hours later I return and my room was entered, my clothes were moved around (but not folded, strangely), my bag had been opened (I put a small piece of tape on the far end that barely showed, in case someone opened my bag after I left). There was nothing valuable in the room but someone in "room service" or management had been to my room and through my possessions (especially the pants pockets). The other students reported the same issue. This alone is a sufficient reason for me to never return to this resort. Trust is #1. Other than that...great experience, but there are definitely better options around.
We have rented 2 apartments and the living space for 4 adults and 3 kids was amazing. The resort is clean and quiet, the terraces with sea view are impressive. There is a shopping center 15min driving in Cap Cana which makes the life easy. The downside of Golden Bear is the beach - you are not close to it and the best to go is Juanillo which is 10min driving. We did not use any of the facilities we hve just rented accomodation.
I have to say, the Golden Bear its not for everybody. It is situated in Capcana but its far from everything so its very quite and peaceful. Its NOT INCLUSIVE so you have to bring your food (but the kitchen is very well equipped), it can be VERY hot but thats because of the weather not them (the infrastructure is with a lot of areas without roofs) The service was great, the room was BEAUTIFUL, Capcana is still under construction in some areas so you might see old houses, constructions or something like that all around capcana. I highly recommend renting a car since everything its NOT a walking distance (the hotel is far but you would have to take a car to go anywhere in any other hotel) If you are looking for something quiet, comfortable and a little distant, Golden Bear is the right choice for you.
Limited service all over, Restaurant was awful. I had to leave because the heat inside it was so intense. Almost all of our rooms had problems. (7 guys on golf trip) Resort empty and not near the beach, Punta Espada golf is gorgeous though.
