This is a true 4 star resort with good and bad points. It is defiantly tired in areas and updates needed. The upgraded select area is not really renovated. The room is closer to the pool and beach but the bathroom is old still. The shower had luke warm water everyday. We just ate in the buffet everyday after hearing the restaurants weren't worth it. The food was good and had a variety to choose from. You won't get sick of the choices if you just pick something different each day. The drinks were your average resort drinks. No speciality blender type picks. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. The front check in staff would be the only ones I would say need to learn to be more helpful. I was worried it would smell because of the ponds and wild life but it didn't at all. Was really neat watching the animals who were not afraid of humans at all. If going to this resort knowing what to expect you will have a great time and not be disappointed. If you want a higher end Place then pick a 5* and pay the prices that come with it. It drives me crazy when people complain about things that obviously a lower star will have.
Just returned from Blau Natura and I wanted to submit a review. The hotel has a beautiful layout and gardens. I loved walking through the grounds. The food was good, lots of variety but I craved spice when I returned home. The staff are hard working and friendly. The check-in was fine but our room was very dated but clean. Definitely needs updating. I loved the ocean and pool with swim up bar. Towels were never a problem to get. My mom fell ill and the doctor was amazing! The care of the hotel doctor was beyond the medical care offered in Canada. He spent 3 hours one night just on my mom. The beach was busier than I expected with boats. I didn't know about the 15 minutes of free wifi until the second last day of our stay. Not sure I will return only because I prefer Cuba. This is a moderate resort - don't expect anything too fancy. Hotel staff are not overly proficient in English so brush up on your Spanish.
We enjoyed our night tour despite the constant light rain. Santiago our guide was knowledgeable about the roads, frogs, snakes, plants, wildlife and was informative. He spotted many frogs as small as my fingernail! He was also very patient, especially while my husband photographed the iconic red eyed frog! It was a small group and we all got to see everything. Highly recommend.
All the negative reviews had my sweetie concerned we would have a terrible vacation... The reality of this resort could not be more opposite! We are now three days into our vacation and can honestly say the service / food & accommodations are very good. This is a nature themed resort with birds, turtles and other natural wildlife all around you. The restaurants are very nice... Book them upon your arrival or just eat at the buffet. Bring $50.00 in “ones” and learn how to tip... It works wonders. The “only” negative we have found is luke warm water showers (common with Caribbean Resorts)...
This place is a beautiful resort. Beach is alright to the exception of the weeds. For some reason they rake them into piles but left the piles there all day. Might as well not take them if you ask me. Still, lots of chairs available when we were there. You can walk kilometers on the beach. I love that. The room is nothing to brag about. Its comfortable but older. I don't care much because we're here to enjoy the beach and the outdoors anyway. All the food I had was good as well as the drinks. The staff is particularly nice with the typical Dominican hospitality and sense of humor. I leave a small tip everywhere we go and they appreciate it I think. Its not like they expect it or more like I've seen before.
*Be Warned* This hotel does not begin to have any of the free amenities listed when booking the reservation. The owners of this hotel are fraudulent. They lure tourist here from different countries by lying and making this resort seem like it has everything offer. There are excursion booths setup throughout the hotel. The lowest excursion is $99 USD. The WiFi here is free for fifteen minutes daily. You will have to pay at least $20 if you would like WiFi for longer than that. The front desk will try to charge you for additional services upon check in so bring a copy of your reservation with you. It saved us $140 by having a copy with us. The staff here is amazing, so don’t hold them responsible for the hotel deterioration and terrible customer service at check in. If you pay attention you will see that most of them work 16 hours daily. The mini bar in the room has a Pepsi, a Mountain Dew, and two Budweiser’s in it. Not my idea of a stocked mini bar. The rooms are indeed old and nowhere near comfortable. The two double beds are on a bamboo bed with no box spring. It is a very miserable experience. The food service is below average. They offer several dishes that are either severely over cooked or under cooked(rice and spaghetti). The snack bar offers burgers and hot dogs. That’s it. Pay attention to the feeding times as well. You will get hungry when nothing is open. The bars are decent. The selections are not big so choose wisely. I stuck with the Anejo Rum and Mango juice the entire time. It was a winner for me. The pool is decent and the beach chairs were a plus. Get out to the pool area early or you won’t have a seat. It gets packed quickly. All in all, I will spend the additional money next time and stay somewhere that is 4 to 5 stars. This hotel needs new owners. The hotel staff is only executing the game plan that the owners put out. Cheap, cheap, cheap!!!!
you get what you pay for. I had a cheap room but it worked for us. Food was very good with a nice variety. People were very nice, not pushy for sales. Very relaxing. Nice beach area. Forgot my pic with snake but no complaints otherwise.
My experience at Natura Park was not good. I stayed with my husband this december. Once we arrived we were not impressed by the location. The room was outdated and not comfortable. Food was terrible and we got the same menu every day. We tried the italian restaurant which was good. The staff was not nice and particularly with dominicans. Be careful when going to the pool or beach as this hotel has not enough towels for guests. I also have a big complaint regarding the housekeeping service. This people knock at your door at 9 am soliciting to give them your towels in order to change them for new ones: 9 am is not a proper hour for this. If you dont do this you will have to keep your same towels. The staff is also too noisy while doing their job and walking in the hallways. Regarding nightlife, the only thing you can enjoy is the show and a bar until aroung 11:30-12 am. No disco on the hotel and the bars close earlier than what is stated.
Our 6th vacation at the Natura Park cut short after one week, do to a medical problem. The staff in the restaurant realized the situation, and called the doctor, and in a minute she was here and had everything under control. ( Ambulance, Hospital, paperwork, called the Insurance, etc. ) The day after we decided to go back to Canada, the Westjet agent Julio Cesar arranged the flight back and Melodie arranged a wheelchairs for transfer in the airports. The staff, from the bell boy Louis, to the manager Carlos Motta, where very helpful, thank you all. Hope we will be back in April, to enjoy the beautiful place, the good food, drinks and the hospitality.
Went solo on this trip. Overall I gave this resort a 3 because of a couple reasons. This trip was a last minute and the price was good so away I went. Was my first time going to the south and was a little nervous and did not know what to expect. once I arrived at the resort I was greeted by the receptionist and was an easy transaction to get my room. I walked into my room and was not impressed, but I was not expecting much. so the room...was fine overall, I paid 24 dollars for a key to the safe, my tub would not drain when showered. the bed not the most comfortable. the plus, my mini bar was always full everyday, room was clean. Buffet meals were good.. stay away from the hamburgs..had a bad experience my last day. I reserved dinner at the steakhouse and the seafood resturant, steakhouse 4 stars ( very good)...seafood 2 stars ( bad)..I ordered red snapper and found a couple scales and bones....the bar service was excellent!! special thanks to Iris and Gregory!! Animation staff were great as well. The beach was nice...its a little weedy but nice...one night there were locals set up throughout the resort and they were pushy to sell you something,,,very uncomfortable.
