Hotel Belmar Galeria is the go-to boutique hotel to stay in the Romantic Zone for my wife and me. We have stayed for a week at a time many times since 2014. Belmar is only four blocks from the beach, has a super friendly staff, has large bottles of purified water, coffee in the lobby in the mornings and hot showers. I recommend booking a high-floor room with an outside balcony, which comes in handy for watching the busy street scene and drying out beach towels and swim suits in the sun. We actually like the extra exercise of taking the stairs, and now that the buses are being converted from old diesels to new clean natural gas buses, the traffic noise and pollution is much improved. And with the new condominium tower being build just to the north of Belmar, the area is becoming even more desirable.

The hotel is in a very good location. Treat yourself in a room with a balcony because you can sit outside and watch all the street activity.

The photo is an artist rendering and not what the exterior looks like. Other than that deception, the room and balcony meet my needs well. The WiFi and warm water worked well. Fridge was a nice surprise.

The hotel was in a great location for walking to everywhere, which we did every day. Very old hotel, which wouldnt have bothered us as we are not in the hotel but to sleep and shower, but when i had to shower in luke warm water i was not pleased. Two weeks with no hot water was disappointing. Do-able but very disappointing. We have stayed at many different hotels (same price range) in puerto vallarta and never had a problem with hot water anywhere else, so i cant really say you get what you pay for because that is not necessarily true.

Liked the style of the hotel. It was fun, good quiet A/C. Comfortable. liked having cooking facilities. Restaurants all around! Many city noises.

It's a cute hotel with a friendly & professional staff but we had no idea about the demolition/construction going on with the building that is literally attached to the hotel; super noisy early in the morning between that and the street noise. Fine location but Insurgentes is a busy street, which I knew but had never experienced with lodging. The room had everything we needed, we're pretty non fussy travelers. I would definitely recommend and stay again after the construction is done but wouldn't before it is.

Centrally located, clean, perfect Centrally located, clean, perfect

We had a wonderful time :) the Hotel was so close to everything we wanted to see and eat! We truly loved it and would go back again!

The worst, this is not a hotel. Never stay again in my life

EVERY TIME I WENT INTO MY ROOM I ADMIRED THE COLOR OF THE WALLS AND THE PAINTINGS HANGING THERE. I WANTED TO SIT OUT ON THE BALCONY BUT DIDN´T HAVE TIME AND THE CHAIR WOULDN´T GO THROUGH THE DOOR. ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT I´M ALLERGIC TO COLD SHOWERS EVEN IN A HEAT WAVE. THANKS FOR MAKING MY STAY PLEASANT. LOVED THE GREEN TEA IN THE LOBBY AND THE OLD SEWING MACHINE, JUST LIKE THE ONE THAT CLOTHED ME AND MY 4 KIDS FOR 20 ODD YEARS. I´M HOPING TO RETURN ONE DAY, GOOD LUCK,,,LIZ

Pleasantly surprised....very pleased with my two-night stay. Sure it's an older property but was very clean, had a great bed and shower. It's several blocks back from the beach, so you're in the locals part of Old Town...a big plus for some. I was given a room with a balcony, but many of the rooms face inside and don't have. The balcony definitely added to the experience. I'll consider staying again next time.

The hotel is a great choice for those wanting economy and the Mexican culture experience. Location is away from the beach near local taco stands and other traditional places to grab a bite. All surrounding food was excellent, costs were very good. The hotel is newly remodeled, staff is very nice and helpful. My room was the type with a kitchen-ette. A bit more pricey than the others, but worth it. A balcony over the street and plenty of room. The fridge was convenient. I would definitely stay here again! I have not rated it fives for everything because this is not a 5 star hotel. That does not mean it is any less than great.

I enjoyed my stay. Close to food, drinks, beach and local shopping. A walk up with comfy bed, a/c and helpful staff. Bring ear plugs as it's on busy street. Friendly staff.

Belmar Hotel was a last minute purchase and was a delightful surprise.Room was clean airy and quiet .Staff were helpful and location superb on busy street.I would stay here again and again

The staff at this hotel are superb - friendly, helpful, accommodating. Top notch staff. The rooms are clean, and pretty basic. This is not a luxury hotel - that said, the beds are comfy, the shower is hot if you want, cold if you want. The artwork in the hotel is great. And the location is close to much of what the Zona has to offer. Also, it feels very safe and secure. For a budget minded traveler this is a nice choice. This hotel is on a VERY busy street, and the hotel is quite loud from the street below 24 hours a day - not from guests in the hotel, but from the street below. Keep this in mind - hard to get a good night's rest.

The hotel has lovely art in all the rooms and hallways. Great morning coffee. Pleasant staff. Puerto Vallarta is amazing!!!!

Walking distance to the beach, nightlife, restaurants, and easy access for the bus. Clean cozy hotel for budgeting travelers, I will be staying here in the future
