Travis and Alex were great and helped to ensure a fun surf vacation. What a beautiful and laid back place! Surf lessons and personal attention given exceeded expectations. Thank you and we will be back!
We had the good fortune of staying in unit 10 which is on the top floor of Rincon Surf Resort at Las Palmas. It is a wonderful suite which has a full kitchen, a king size bed, and a stunning view. We would awaken each morning and throw open the doors to look out at the Caribbean. One morning we even had the good fortune of seeing two hump back whales swimming by. If you are ever lucky enough to have the opportunity to go there, do it. The staff is attentive, the rooms are clean, and the pool is refreshing. It is quiet and relaxing and even has a hammock in which to recline.
Travis, Alex, and their hotel staff went "above and beyond" in making me feel welcome, starting with an up-close and personalised tour with Travis of the local Rincón surf spots and layout of the beach community and environs. I had 2 excellent surf sessions with John, "one-on-one," who not only gave me excellent instruction, but was super friendly, giving me valuable tips in reading the water, positioning in the line-up, and other awesome tips. I met a lot of other surfers on this trip, connecting with other like-minded water/sports enthusiasts, as the super "positive stoke and vibe" with this school made it extremely easy to do. For example, I spent many post-surf breakfast/sessions @ "Casa Isleña," with Joel and Ryan, who both hail from Toronto, Canada!! I also met an awesome group of people at 2 local eateries, "Kahuna Burger" and "Pool Sushi." This was my 2nd trip to Rincón, with the Rincón Surf School and Resort @ "Sandy Beach," but I will definitely be back as as soon as possible.
Perfect location, especially with family. Clean rooms, nice pool and great views. Travis, Alex and all the staff go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. We had overheard some guests complaining about spotty wifi and electricity. The island is on a long path to recovery and that's an island-wide challenge. Keep in mind, you're in a US territory so use your mobile data if you can't detach from your phone. Las Palmas also has a generator which keeps things going while many of the other rentals are in the dark. A major upside for those with any concerns. Thanks again Travis and Alex!
The location has amazing mountain and ocean views. Cool breaze at night. It's a perfect for rest. If your looking for a party, you are steps away from the action but the home is quiet itself which gives you best of both worlds. Perfect for families and couples.
The staff was over accommodating and helpful. Trevor and Ross went out of their way to make our trip the best trip possible. Definitely going back! Ross showed us around the area to point out great places to eat, beaches to go to and bars at night. The surf was also out of this world and Ross really is a great teacher! Trevor really hooked us up with a great room.
If you looking for a nice quiet spot this is the place ! clean ,nice pool ,beautiful views of the ocean in the back .Travis and Alex were great very accommodating ,bbq grill right there , highly recommend this spot
We booked this place as we were traveling. When we arrived, the woman who checked us in was very welcoming and extremely helpful. When we got to our room we were so surprised--it was a great size and had a TV, mini-fridge, and a microwave. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was also a budget price compared to the other places we stayed. It is not right on the beach, but had a lovely view. The pool is not huge but the families swimming there were very friendly and the children were having a lot of fun swimming. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay if you aren't looking to be pampered.
I want to give a big THANK YOU to Alex, Nego, and Anthony. You three were a huge part of what made our trip so enjoyable! We're already trying to plan another trip back! This hotel was exactly what we needed. Clean, simple, and comfortable. We had a room in the back of the building facing the ocean. I loved stepping outside in the morning to hear the sounds of the waves crashing. Our room had a queen bed, kitchenette, table, chairs, and tv. There is a great little pool that was always clean, but we were exploring the area or at the beach during the day. There are grills all around and a hammock in front of every room (definitely had a good nap on it). Rooms are opened and locked with an electronic key pad. The hotel is really close to some great restaurants and bars. It's about a 10 minute drive to the center of the city and the beach. I HIGHLY recommend renting a car. I had no idea it was going to be all hills! Like I said, what really made our trip great was the help from the staff. Alex was wonderful!! She knows the entire region and all the possible activities to do. She didn't hesitate to make any calls to inquire about anything we needed. She gave us a list of great places to eat, events in the city, and excursions in the region. If you want to surf just tell Alex or whoever is at the front desk and they'll set you up with an instructor. Nego and Anthony were superb surf instructors! I didn't surf, my boyfriend did, but I watched all the lessons and went with to the beach. They were on top of their game, making sure everyone was safe, learning, and most importantly having fun. My boyfriend loved it so much he's trying to plan another trip in a few months. TIP: If you're going to stay here, definitely make sure you have a car. But be careful driving. The region is a lot of narrow roads with constant twists and turns. The first stay was a bit scary.
This was probably the best surf trip I ever took! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was HUGE and very clean! The pool looked nice but we are more beach dwellers. The location is great but you will need a car to get around. Amazing Fish Restaurants near including a Yoga/Spa and Vegan Cafe! Would definitely recommend for an amazing stay.
