Condado Lagoon Villas at Caribe Hilton

The hotel, grounds, pools and views were absolutely lovely. There are many restaurants right within the hotel so it's very convenient to get food. There is even a little animal area with ducks, iguanas, peacocks, koi in a pond, etc. Very enchanting. My kids loved this area and so did I. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Transportation is always readily available with taxis ready and waiting. The tourism desk staff are very knowledgeable and can help plan any outings your group could want to do. There were only a few things that would make me rethink booking this hotel again. #1. The hotel is broken up into many segments (similar to a hospital) and the walk from the main lobby (pool area, restaurants, shops, etc) to our room was seriously so far. It was a real hike! When the elevator broke for 1 1/2 days, it was even worse. The other issue for our family was the price of the food available. Our group included one adult and two children. We literally could not eat for less than $50/meal. We didn't order any fancy food at all! This was just regular everyday food. Not just at this hotel, most restaurants in the 'tourist trap' areas charge 2-3x the normal cost of food. Most adult meals are priced around $25 and up; and most children's meals are $10-$15. The only other problem I had with this hotel is that I asked twice for a chair for our room balcony because we had a beautiful view. I wanted to sit outside and enjoy it. No chair ever arrived.

Our stay was very enjoyable would have liked to stay longer.

Other than the toilet kept getting clogged it was a wonderful stay

I really enjoyed Puerto Rico especially this hotel. I read a lot of reviews that stated negative reviews, however, the staff was friendly and the room overlooked the water which was perfect. The pool bar was probably our favorite spot.

We were here 8 yrs ago and excited to go back. Big mistake! We reserved an oceanfront room and another room for the kids. We got a lagoon view overlooking a bridge in the furthest building on the premise, villa 2. Be sure to avoid Villa building 2 there is construction next to the property and you can hear and feel all the racket. Atleast the staff is nice. Extremely disappointing, we wont be going back to this resort.

Confortable and safe, an experience that from within the hotel to the surrounding grounds gave me a sense of luxury.

Overall, a great place to stay in, polite and clean. I recommend this hotel. Now, what needs to be improved is its Wi-Fi. This trip was as enjoyable as other

We stayed in the villas & really liked it. The only problems we had was the shower leaked onto the bathroom floor. It really wasn't a big deal, we just went through a lot of towels. There was a balcony but it was only big enough to stand up, no room for chairs. Also every morning at 6 am there was a small plane that flew right over the hotel and was very loud! Everything else was great. The beach is awesome, the pool was fantastic although it closed too early at 9. The staff very friendly & the lady that cleaned our room all week was great & helped us retrieve clothes that the wind took to another balcony. We would stay there again anytime! We were disappointed that the Fort was blocked off and unavailable for viewing. Overall it was a good hotel and the location was great!

as a whole the hotel was great....however...there were a few things that could have been improved...our staff at the condado was really nice and friendly...the concierge at main hotel wasok....one member ..eric....was quite helpful...however others seemed bothered by requests...better when tipped...this should not have been the case at hotel of this level....also pool closes at 9pm...why?? after a long day of sight seeing...swimming would be nice...but security will pull you from area...I thought this was rather odd...on the plus side...beach was very nice....but once again service was average at best...except for starbucks staff...they were great...if price were good though i would probably go back due to great location

I've always been happy at The Caribe Hilton. If you're a beach lover this place is most convenient (even has decent snorkling). A short walk to the east across a small bridge brings you to the Condado area with eating, drinking and gambling choices. A quick cab or a nice walk to the west brings you to Old San Juan with hundreds of things to do. The villas are in a building a few steps further from the beach/pool area...an easy walk but something to keep in mind if you're back and forth to the room alot.

We had some bad issues no hot water and ac not working and it was not fixed promptly at all to say the least it was very disappointing

Great staff! Great location! Near a lot of restaurans and old san juan, if you are a meat lover go to Morton's restaurant its expensive but the food the staff is awesome!

Staff was excellent, location was beautiful and we found something new and unexpected everyday!

Condado Lagoon Villas were ok, enjoyed the ocean view from the balcony, however, if you think you are getting a balcony where you can sit and relax, you are sadly mistaken! There is room for you and another person to stand and take in the ocean, thats it! I was a little disappointed by that. Overall, the room was ok. I would be interested in seeing what the rooms in the main hotel, Caribe Hilton look like since all of the restaurants and shops are over there anyway. My trip was lovely because of who I went with, my final word of advice would be to take extra money for eating, its very expensive to eat and drink at the restaurants and hotel in general, my boyfriend and I decided to order room service for breakfast one day, the bill was $60! Never had such an expensive breakfast! Good Luck!

I truly enjoyed my recent visit. The restaurants and gardens were amazing. I didn't feel as though the restaurants were over priced. I reserved an "ocean view" room and wish I had a better view of the ocean instead of the inlet by the bridge.

my overall experience was good, the pool and ocean were easily accessible and kid-friendly. I loved the yoga offered on the beach in the morning. Close to Old San Juan.

Room was nice, but ocean-view king ended up being on the first floor so view was obstructed. Only one outlet in the room worked to run the fridge, and the security keys kept failing (a little inconvenient). Hotel staff took care of it all. The Hotel allows use as a club for locals so TONS of kids by Saturday & Sunday and no chairs available by the pool. Noisy at night in the halls. We loved walking the property several times during the day to catch the critters wandering around. Food in restaurants is overpriced, so we found several places off-site to eat for less and bring in our own snacks, drinks and liquor.

Was the perfect ending to a busy work week. Wish I could have stayed longer. Resort fee was a bit expensive But the grounds were gorgeous. Too bad the weather didn't behave for much of the day.

Good hotel, nice grounds, more expensive than it should be.Problems: 1) the "villas" in the property name is incorrect. A villa is "a detached or semidetached dwelling house" ([@]). This just a hotel. 2) The "ocean view" is not guaranteed. We were given a "lagoon view" having rented an "ocean view." The hotel said, "the lagoon is also an "ocean view" because the lagoon is off the ocean."Our sheets were not changed. The carpet was not clean (hairballs) until asked to vacumn and the tile floor not mopped. Room service at the pool took 45 minutes to deliver.

We just got home from a wonderful vacation in Puerto Rico in which we stayed at the Caribe Hilton. This hotel was the low-point of the trip (which is saying something since we both got a stomach virus - not the hotel's fault). We have visited many resorts in the Caribbean so we do have a basis for comparison. This was a last minute vacation and so we needed an "affordable" hotel and thought we found it with the Hilton. We didn't expect luxury but what we did expect was an honest deal for an honest dollar. What we got was one of the worst displays of greedy and manipulative tourist-gouging imaginable. The over-pricing of everything that was being sold to a captive audience is the main reason for the low rating. As you are pricing and comparing hotels, you will need to add approximately $20 per night for "service charge", $15 per day if you want internet and $5 per room-service call. The restaurants were ridiculously priced. We knew they had a breakfast brunch for $26 but we didn't realize that all the restaurants were proportionately priced (examples, $18 for cheeseburger, $17 for a turkey sandwich). None of the food we ate was "special" and we ended up paying a taxi to take us to Old San Juan for most meals and most of those meals were special! Morton's Steakhouse(in the hotel) does offer a very extensive happy hour ( I think there are like two hours of every day NOT included). There is also a Starbucks in the hotel that offers an extended breakfast sandwich menu and a Subway across the street (but seriously?! Who wants to eat Subway in Puerto Rico?). The room was OK - nothing special. The thermostat didn't work so we had to call for service every time we wanted to change the temperature. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. The room was adequately clean. The overall service at the hotel was very good except in any place you eat and/or drink…. We often times had to go find someone to take our order or give us a check. We love to snorkel and the hotel not only had its own snorkeling bay but there is also a public snorkeling bay right next door (an easy walk….. I wouldn't advise going over the wall or trying to do a swim through). At first I was disappointed in the reefs because they were mostly dead but I quickly got over it when I saw the variety of life… lion fish, crabs, flounders, urchins, tube worms and two very cool squids! Puerto Rico is an insanely beautiful place. We didn't get to see as much as we wanted by a long shot and we can't wait to go back and correct that. We did go into Old San Juan a few days and it's really a great place. The Castillo de San Cristóbal, in Old San Juan, is amazing and cheap; be prepared to walk and take lots of pictures. We went to the Bacardi Factory but I don't remember much about that… from the pictures of the event, it looks like it was fun and it's very cheap. My favorite restaurant was the Puerto Rico Café… great Mofongo and $6 Mojitos. The Genesis had an $8 Mojito which had three full shots in it. We also enjoyed Cafe Mallorca for dessert and coffee. All of the bathrooms that I used in Old San Juan were adventurous. The tour-desk in the lobby was a great place to get all kinds of information and we booked a trip to go to the El Yunque rain forest but the afore mentioned illness kept me in my room that day. Fortuneatly, the afore mentioned tour-desk graciously refunded our money. In conclusion, this hotel offers cheaper rates but takes advantage of you once you get there (bait and bend over?). The people who work there are competent and friendly. Puerto Rico is gorgeous and there is MUCH to see, do, eat and drink. Paz!
