I was uncomfortable from the start as the pictures from the websites are a complete lie. I purchased a suite and felt like a complete idiot when i arrived. First, the room was less than basic, the chairs were stained from a possible previous flood, the furniture looked donated or just plain old. The garden mentioned is just a dirt patch! Nothing is given to you in English; so you have to figure out whats going on OMGODDNESS the food; lets just say i starved until my friends were able to take me out for food and items to bring back to me room. Ants were all in my bed and bit me from head to toe, the tv works when it wants to and the spider webs alone informed met hat the dust on the lamp was just merely ignored. I couldnt wait to leave this resort! The shuttle wont take you anywhere but the beach and its only ONE SHUTTLE. I asked for a ride to the front entrance and was told :no, the shuttle is only for the beach", dont book here is you can help yourself!

The staff is great. The hotel needs updates but the food was good, is clean and the playa Dorada is 5 minutes walk or they will take you there. Is very basic but the staff make things great.

Theres nothing good to said about the hotel. Staff is really rude. Food is not good at all. Rooms are gross specially the matress. Worst service ever. I will never stay in this hotel again.

Nice place, everything close. nice beach, nice pools and good food.

Not by beach as advertised. There is a golf course between hotel and beach, room was disgusting. I know this is a poor country but picking up trash and painting is not too expensive. Toilet would not flush, pillows were gross, tons of deferred maintenance. At best this a two star hotel, possibly 1 1/2. No way this is a three star hotel. I had to leave and go to a different hotel.

Room air conditioner vents were covered with black mold, ceilings throughout the rooms, and dining area were falling down. Breakfast pancakes French toast were cold, oatmeal was made too watery you could drink it. Many times had to take cold shower because water did not get hot. Beach is so far away that they drove you there in shuttle bus that made you sick from the exhaust fumes. Surprised Orbitz could list this hotel!

Staying at puerto plata village was awesome, because I had a lot of fun there.

Good things first.....there was availability ...cute form a distance and the a/c worked. We checked in and were not told where or what time meals were served. Traveling for 15 hrs and decided we need a nap so forgot to ask about food. The room was not clean. Very old and in disrepair. May have been in in the 1950s and no upgrades or maintenance since then. Only 2 med size bath towels -- no floor mat, no hand towel or washcloth. The shampoo/soap dispenser in shower was empty Ok, we can live with that.... next morning we discovered NO HOT WATER.......... not happy. Phone did not work. Food was marginal, overcooked, dried out and no flavor. Lots of flies around food. Would not return or recommend.

I won't leave a bad review, so I will tell you what we experienced that was good. The room was clean. Was really the only thing we saw that was perfect.

If you are looking to be spoiled, this is not your resort. It provides the budget traveler everything they need. Rooms are showing their age, but everything worked. Tub had a little rust. Food is plentiful, but nothing special, kind of blue collar. No stomach problems at all. Booking a meal at one of the restaurants isn't worth the trouble. 5 entrees on the menu, but only 1 is available that night, and it's something you've had at the buffet. Internet is really slow. The location neighbors many other resorts. Golf cart takes u to the beach, as nice as others. Lucy (dances competitively), and Angie (sings), are sweet bosses.

needs to be updated. Food was okay. Needs to be covered. Alot of flies around the food. Staff great.

For the price you pay, it was a great bargin. I was very impressed. It has around 350 rooms so it is not so large that you get lost. The area has many other amenities also.

The room conditions were outdate it like it old motel. The food was horrible, I got sick.

First Hotel to the right when entering Playa Dorado. Walking Distance to discos, bars, etc. in Playa Dorado. Decent food in hotel, also a bargain. Quiet spot during weekdays. Some residents of DR come on Sat and Sun.

this was my 2nd time in under 6 months and some improvements are being made, I will start here. The animation staff are getting a little better in their job and keeping the gestures to family oriented. The rooms are clean although I was lending my shower to a few people in another building who had on going issues. Food quality dropped and because of the lack of guests they are trying different things to save on waste, I do honor the efforts. For the most part the place is quiet and a big effort is made into its cleanliness. It is what it is and for the "price" a good vacation. I give appluase to the dining staff as except for 1 sour faced young lady, they are all pleasant. I send a c- out to the bar tender that thinks yelling zuuup is cool, it gets annoying. The thing though that would keep me from recomending this hotel or any other in the area is that on Saturday and Sunday until 3p.m. the locals come and they are "loud" and take over and make it so that you give up your place, be it pool side or at the bar, they do not follow the rules (which to the rest of us who are reminded of them all week long)and if you tell a guard about it, they all of a sudden don't speak your language and leave the area, but by the way, they are also the life guard.

Great for the money. Staff was courteous and helpful! Options for activities, but I chose to take a more relaxed route with most of my time being spent by the pool and at the beach. Neither were overcrowded. Decent food. Ample drinks.
