The survice was bad no towels peoples was rude the food was bad

Great hotel great food and great staff. Would stay here again.

Big disapointment not at all like pictured have to take shuttle to beach food lousy shower dirty lost pwr 2x left early and went to different resort would not recomend

When I stood at Puerto Plata Village it has overall good time except for a few exceptions. 1. There were ants all over the TV stand. I had to buy bug spray to make them leave. 2. The bathroom sink and shower handle was semi-broken. They had to adjusted to a certain angle and position to have hot water and turn it off completely. 3. Out of the four restaurants there are two real restaurants and two food kiosks. Plus one of the restaurant required a reservation a day in advance which we weren't informed. The kiosk we're limited in food options. 4. There was only Wi-Fi in two locations and not all over the resort. 5. The gift store/shop and the Disco were closed the entire time and without any reason for not being open. 6. There wasn't that many activities included which I had to pay to do more. 7. The alcohol and beer tasted water down. 8. The sign stated if we wanted fresh towels to place the dirty ones in the shower floor. Everytime I did that, the dirty ones would get picked up but never replaced unless I went to the lobby to pick up a fresh pair. Positives: 1. All the food was good. 2. The AC system worked well. 3. The vintage look was 5 stars. 4. The scenery was amazing. 5. The staff were nice and helpful. I give the hotel 2.5 out 5 stars.

Why we choose Puerto Plata Village or the DR as a vacation spot is a decision we all wish we could take back since we arrived at the so called resort! Where do I start? The room they gave us was terrible! There was nothing luxurious about it. I’d rather have a camping trip in the woods knowing it’s basic than to have had high expectations & be so disappointed 😔. No hot water for the duration of the stay. No fridge. No microwave. No iron/ironing board. Old half eaten sandwiches in the cabinet. No phone. No WiFi in the rooms and choppy in so called assigned areas. Stained walls. Dirty and crusty lamp. Rusty shower pipes. Dirty/crusty shower head. Barely any soap in sink & shower soap dispensers. Broken electrical outlets and I was shocked plugging in my phone. Name calling (Negra) by staff. Lack of customer service which felt more like racism since we were ignored & the locals were attended to while we were standing there and waiting before anyone. Ignored several times at the desk. We were spoken to condescendingly and looked at with dirty looks. All around terrible experience. I’ve read and heard about all sorts of things happening over there but to experience it first hand was/is quite traumatic. The food was nothing to write home about. Pictures and Advertisements can be deceiving. DO NOT BE FOOLED. The only good part was going to the beach & then paying to tour a few places. We are NEVER returning there. It was my first vacation in years & this was a horrible choice!

We were in shock when we arrived at this hotel, it was dirty and they have cats all over, including restuarants. But the worst part was that we didn't feel safe with the crowds that were in and around the premises. Thank God we had made reservation through Orbitz and Orbitz relocated us at the Grand Paradise Hotel. Finally we were able to relax and enjoy our vacation.

Staff very friendly clean pleanty of food all day fun shows everynight and games for everyone day and night

The buffet for the all inclusive was more limited than others I've had, the beach is actually a shuttle ride away from the hotel but otherwise good, there was a water leak from the ceiling in the bathroom.

horrible atmosphere and cheap liquor the beer smelled like rotten water

I was uncomfortable from the start as the pictures from the websites are a complete lie. I purchased a suite and felt like a complete idiot when i arrived. First, the room was less than basic, the chairs were stained from a possible previous flood, the furniture looked donated or just plain old. The garden mentioned is just a dirt patch! Nothing is given to you in English; so you have to figure out whats going on OMGODDNESS the food; lets just say i starved until my friends were able to take me out for food and items to bring back to me room. Ants were all in my bed and bit me from head to toe, the tv works when it wants to and the spider webs alone informed met hat the dust on the lamp was just merely ignored. I couldnt wait to leave this resort! The shuttle wont take you anywhere but the beach and its only ONE SHUTTLE. I asked for a ride to the front entrance and was told :no, the shuttle is only for the beach", dont book here is you can help yourself!

The staff is great. The hotel needs updates but the food was good, is clean and the playa Dorada is 5 minutes walk or they will take you there. Is very basic but the staff make things great.

Theres nothing good to said about the hotel. Staff is really rude. Food is not good at all. Rooms are gross specially the matress. Worst service ever. I will never stay in this hotel again.

Nice place, everything close. nice beach, nice pools and good food.

Not by beach as advertised. There is a golf course between hotel and beach, room was disgusting. I know this is a poor country but picking up trash and painting is not too expensive. Toilet would not flush, pillows were gross, tons of deferred maintenance. At best this a two star hotel, possibly 1 1/2. No way this is a three star hotel. I had to leave and go to a different hotel.

Room air conditioner vents were covered with black mold, ceilings throughout the rooms, and dining area were falling down. Breakfast pancakes French toast were cold, oatmeal was made too watery you could drink it. Many times had to take cold shower because water did not get hot. Beach is so far away that they drove you there in shuttle bus that made you sick from the exhaust fumes. Surprised Orbitz could list this hotel!

Staying at puerto plata village was awesome, because I had a lot of fun there.

Good things first.....there was availability ...cute form a distance and the a/c worked. We checked in and were not told where or what time meals were served. Traveling for 15 hrs and decided we need a nap so forgot to ask about food. The room was not clean. Very old and in disrepair. May have been in in the 1950s and no upgrades or maintenance since then. Only 2 med size bath towels -- no floor mat, no hand towel or washcloth. The shampoo/soap dispenser in shower was empty Ok, we can live with that.... next morning we discovered NO HOT WATER.......... not happy. Phone did not work. Food was marginal, overcooked, dried out and no flavor. Lots of flies around food. Would not return or recommend.

I won't leave a bad review, so I will tell you what we experienced that was good. The room was clean. Was really the only thing we saw that was perfect.

If you are looking to be spoiled, this is not your resort. It provides the budget traveler everything they need. Rooms are showing their age, but everything worked. Tub had a little rust. Food is plentiful, but nothing special, kind of blue collar. No stomach problems at all. Booking a meal at one of the restaurants isn't worth the trouble. 5 entrees on the menu, but only 1 is available that night, and it's something you've had at the buffet. Internet is really slow. The location neighbors many other resorts. Golf cart takes u to the beach, as nice as others. Lucy (dances competitively), and Angie (sings), are sweet bosses.
