All I need is a clean quiet safe and convenient place. Check, check, check and check. Very close to the Zocalo. We walked or took city transportation everywhere. I'm not interested in being a professional critic. Met my expectations at a reasonable price. I would stay again.
We stumbled upon this property and couldn't have been more happy. We arrived at CAPU and randomly headed towards Zocolo and looked for a place to stay the night. We loved the place so much we stayed a second night and would have stayed a third if our flights out of Mexico City wasn't so early. Rooms were big and beautiful, courtyard with side rooms were appealing and comfortable and the location was ideal to the center. Highly recommend this hotel.
The room on the first floor was large, but really dark. The common areas are furnished with antiques and the area is bright. Our mayor problem with this hotel was the indifference of the staff at the front of the house. They were either on their phones, computer or talking with other staff. We had to ask for an area map and they couldn't provide any basic information about the area. We had to pull our own luggage through the common area in spite of my travelling companions mobility issues, a service we would have happily paid for. This was a return visit for us on our way to and from Oaxaca. We returned because we had excellent service from the man at the front desk on our way to Oaxaca. On our return we decided to stay for three days. Sadly, the service was the opposite in spite of a number of staff turnovers. Would now not return.
This colorful, colonial charmer was very pleasant, and the room was huge with a convenient mini fridge. However, we had no hot water during our two-night stay. Wifi was spotty, but that's to be expected in an old place. The location is great, and the staff was very nice. Bottom line: if charm and location are more important than hot water and dependable wifi, then you'll be very happy.
Charming small historic style hotel with a very lovely courtyard in the middle. Great value with a very helpful staff and only a few block from the center plaza. Nothing fancy so no high maintance types
visit this charming hotel in October, was something impressive walls your floors bright, the staff we encountered made us feel at home also is close to the center just 3 minutes in the heart of the hotel there are two main rooms that are charming you move to a viceregal era
Are day trip started with Adventure Vallarta. Both Gabriel and Felix were awsome hosts, Gabriel was so great at telling us the history of the town on the way there and Felix made sure the ride was smooth and comfortable. We stopped at the bridge built in 2005 for a snack by a canteen and bakery, everything hand made and was delicious. Then onto a home run business in a rown just outside San Sabastian were the owner made his own brand of tequila and it was awsome and well worth the stop. Next we travelled on to a hacienda were they once made silver and was so beauitiful . Then onto The Town were we stopped and had a most delicious full 4 course authentic mexican lunch. After we could eat no more it was over to the organic coffee plantation right across from the resturan. It was unbelivable. 100% organic coffee. We bought 4 Ibs to bring home. Then we crossed the old bridge into town what an experience. Its was so beautiful nestled in between mountains. It was a gorgeous day . The museum of the family and town and the old Spannish Church were my highlights of the day. Thanks Gabriel and Felix for showing us this beautiful gem and great adventure . I highly recomend it.
My husband and I went to Puebla for the first time. We loved the hotel it was very well located near restaurants, night life and the Catedral!!!! the hotel was super original and very clean. The service were great. We could eat at this place because Puebla has amazing places to eat so we went out every day for all our meals. I will recommend this place if you go to Puebla, very colonial and confortable. Each room has their name :)
Walking into Meson San Sabastian the first time was like walking back into time. This hotel dates back 500 years and is an oasis in the heart of the city. Plants adorn the two large patios, water runs in the fountains and antiques are everywhere, making for a quiet retreat in this busy city. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Hot water available at all times, once you run it a while as pipes run through thick walls. Wi Fi always available but most importantly, the staff couldn't be nicer. We lived in this hotel for two months and felt like part of a Mexican family. Apartments are available for long time stays.
This is a 500 year old building that has been decorated with lovely antiques - if you are interested in antiques, this is the place for you. It is very close to the main square and so (in that way) very convenient. HOWEVER the walls are very thick and they do not have routers (or boosters) that will bring WiFi much farther than close to the check-in desk (and even that takes a long time to load). We lost a future reservation because we did not get the e-mail telling us there was a problem. The water in the showers is tepid to cold no mater what time of day you try to take a shower. We were told it was "impossible" to set the water temperature any higher. Great place if you are on 'radio silence' and like bracing cold showers in winter.
