My wife and I stayed here in mid February 2018 and found it quite satisfying. The location was absolutely great, just a half a block from the heart of the city, the Zocalo. The room was quite good: clean, everything worked, hot shower (but bad shower head, however), clean towels everyday, etc. Room keys were real keys, old fashioned that way. Plenty of drawers for stashing our clothes. Our back-area room on the 2d floor (#1 for them) came with breakfast served Mexican style in an adjoining restaurant furnished in late-Victorian style. Food was quite good. My only pique with this charming hotel is that the back-area rooms do not have windows except for the veiled glass on the front door. Also, we could have used a table for our laptop or for writing something or another. There was none. I suggest they replace a chest of drawers that we didn't use for a table and a lamp. The room featured a wonderful wine cooler in case you came in with a load of wine bottles (Mexicans don't favor wine, so I found this modern appliance odd; I'd recommend a small refrigerator for storing food or beverages). Don Luis in the restaurant was a worthy server (he may not speak English) and everyone else was attentive and courteous.
Very damp and moldy on ground floor. Rooms have no windows nor ventilation, seriously deficient bathroom plumbing, hot water gets turned off, had to change room due to nasty toilet leak in first room, breakfast leaves much to be desired. Otherwise the hotel is centrally located walking distance from all central downtown areas. Has a fun roof bar overlooking the city with good music!
Outside and inside hotel is beautiful, rooms are very weak and with no windows... they first gave us a room with little bugs in the bed and floor. They change us room and it was not very clean, mattress too little for a couple and it moved every time you breath. Shower was very poor. Food at restaurant was very greasy and not very good so even though breakfast was included we preferred to go somewhere else outside. I regret we stayed here. Service was good, people is amazing though...
We panicked when our usual choice (Hotel Colonial) was full. Lucky us--Antaño is closer to the Zocalo and smaller. Very friendly staff and a wonderful clean modern room. The price was reasonable, based on the high quality. We would stay here again.
The room is very spacious, and clean. The fact that the breakfast is included makes a whole difference when you are traveling with kids, besides I think the variety of the food was pretty good. The bar in the roof is amazing. They were very kind since we arrived to park the car until we left.
We stayed in this hotel during the month of April room 214 and this room received the sun all day. It was awful. We were sweating and could not go to sleep. They have a portable ac that does nothing at all and it is more like a fan. They have a bar at the top of the hotel and there is a lot of noise on Saturday and the smell of cigarettes permeates the building cube. But the hotel is in an excellent location, walking distance to everything worth seeing. The rooms at the back are much cooler and bigger. Ask for them if it is the hot season. The front desk told me these rooms do get cold in winter. So is up to you.Hot noisy or cold quiet.
I came with a friend to spend a nice and relaxing weekend. I basing my criteria on TripAdvisor: Just one of the hosts complaint about the noise. When I placed the reservation, I asked the rep for a room where there were noise since it was mentioned in TripAdvisor. She said, don't worry those rooms are facing the street and since they have a balcony that's why they have so much noise. Well, THAT IS A LIE! When I arrived, I was impressed by the room: it was clean, big, an awesome bathroom, fireplace/heater, AC...couldn't ask for more, but...when the night came OMG! OMG! It was impossible to sleep!! The hotel is aside a bar where they play live rock and we could hear the battery sound until 3 am. Another thing is...one window vent doesn't close so we needed to "close it" with towels. The room is in a hallway where you can hear EVERYTHING!! It is a pity because the hotel and the room are really beautiful.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 10 days in January and we had a very pleasant time. The hotel is a half block from the zocalo, so it is a perfect location to walk around the historical zone or catch an affordable cab to other districts. The neighborhood was quiet later at night and a bit bustling in the day. The room was large and clean but somewhat stuffy. The building is lovely. The room had two queen beds, but one was a foldaway that was really low, it would have been uncomfortable to use - we did not use it and the mgmt offered to move us, so it was not really an issue. The internet was flaky, they were working to fix it, by day we left it was working fine. Breakfast is included; but we preferred the inexpensive and excellent meals a quick walk away. The staff was very cordial and helpful, and were so gracious in putting up with my terrible spanish. They were also very nice in providing clean linens that had been laundered in fragrance-free soap on request. I would recommend this hotel for a stay in Puebla.
The room was great. The bed was very big and comfortable. The hot tub was excellent as well, however, if you want a good bubble bath I suggest you bring your own solution. There was also an electric fireplace that was pretty cool. And the staff were super friendly as well. Overall, excellent stay. Something was wrong with their wi-fi. We didn't get signal in our room, just the lobby. We also had to wait about half an hour for the room to be ready, even though we got there after the check-in time.
My husband and I had a destination wedding in Puebla. We fully booked this hotel from Thursday to Sunday. It was perfect. The staff went out of their way to make our stay magical, accommodating every weird request we might have. The rooms are beautiful and well kept, in addition to clean. Our guest were very happy and we have received nothing but positive comments. The location is ideal, right off the town square. Our wedding pictures are gorgeous, especially on the staircase and by the elevator. In addition we hosted our rehearsal dinner on the roof top bar, which again was perfect. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding and our guest were incredibly happy. I can't recommend this place enough!
