I could not believe I was in a Marriot hotel . Many things were not right , the AC was extremely noisy ( The compressor ) and during the night suddenly stopped . The noise from outside can be heard in the room , apparently not enough money was spent in the windows. The room was smelly , let alone the towels , looks like the laundry room is next to the kitchen, and the towels are impregnated with strange odors . I can not understand how Marriot allows such a hotels carries his name. Definitely , I don't recommend this hotel .
Very tired hotel, ac did not work well during our stay, the wifi is the worst that i have experienced, they need to make a complete renovation asap , really not to Marriott standards , i will look somewhere else next time
Shoddy and unbelievable this is a Marriott property. Feels like it was converted from an old, tired hotel with minimal face lifting. Desk service was horribly slow and inefficient, and I'm still waiting for my Marriott number to be added to the reservation after requesting it at check-in and check-out and being told both times that the desk person would take care of it. Musty, moldy smell to the room, and hallways. Windows are cheap single-pane, readily admitting noise from the highway running right alongside. Main power switch for room turns everything off, including the clock that has no battery backup. So, every time you return to the room, the clock is again flashing 12:00. Stay somewhere else!
On check in, there was only one Desk attendant serving guests. Another one arrived but addressed no one. Just stood there. With only the one guest being served, it took 15 minutes to be served. Received key, One of the two elevators was being renovated. Room was tired. AC worked but is placed next to the work desk so you'll freeze. When I turned on the water in the tub it was a trickle...truly a trickle. I called and a young maintenance man in a uniform that looked as if it hadn't been laundered in months arrived. He played (no tools) with the faucet and got normal water flow. He turned it off and I thanked him. Twenty minutes later, when I turned it on again...same problem. I called front desk and asked he come again and if they had another room. Young man came again and played with the faucet and again made it work. I asked if it was broken and he confirmed it was. I asked for a different room and was assigned a handicapped room...which was OK, except for the horrible, nursing home smell. Apparently the room had not been used/aired out for many days. But no other rooms were available so I stayed. Same problem with AC except that the temperature would not remain cold regardless of setting. The smell was awful and I didn't sleep well. Next morning at breakfast the made to order omelet included cold ham and cheese and the available bread was stale. Stay away from this hotel. It appears the owners aren't investing sufficiently and I'd anticipate Marriott will take away its flag. Btw, I speak fluent Spanish, and this was necessary to communicate with staff.
The room is pretty comfortable, everything really clean. Breakfast is good, but I think they could have more fruits. Personal are extremely kind and attentive. The bed, I am in love with it! Its a little bit noisy because it's close to a road with hard traffic, nothing an ear block cannot help!
We were pleasantly pleased with our stay at the Courtyard Las Animas. We originally planned to stay at the sold out , Meson Del Angel, Puebla. Our second choice will now always be our first choice. The entire staff was accommodating, friendly, attentive and memorable. We especially appreciated; Suzanne in reception; Ellie, the morning omelet chef; waiters, Martin, Daniel and Victor who attended our every whim; and finally, dining room manager, Ivan, made sure we were happy with our complimentary breakfasts, even to the point of making us a breakfast to go on the morning we had to leave at 5 am. If that is not service, I don’t know what is. We will definitely use this hotel as our home away from home on our future trips to Puebla.
We stayed for one night on our way to Puebla for hospital treatment. We arrived at 7pm. The staff were extremely helpful. Beautifully furnished hotel. We stayed in a suite for the night. It was amazing very clean. Bed very comfortable. Went down to bar for a cocktail. Breakfast was a feast. Fantastic service from Manuel. Nothing was to much trouble. A well recommended stay. Plus very convenient for airport.
We had an excellent time at this hotel. Location is great! We like the buffet, service there was nice. Rooms are comfy, bathrooms are ok but towels are old, One elevator was out of order so it was a delay to go up to your room.
typical Courtyard layout. Very friendly staff. Better than average Courtyard restaurant. Close to the center of the city, easy to get in/out if driving (valet parking). Currently undergoing some refurbishment
I've rated this hotel highly in the past but this time it felt like the property was not as well maintained. As well as one of only two elevators being out of commission for the duration of my stay the place generally was looking in need of tlc. Had a bad service experience at breakfast on one day which is unusual as most staff here are friendly and service oriented. Sad to say, but I'm not sure I will use this for my next visit.
