We never met a host. There were too many layers between us and the owner who we never met. There was VRBO, Hanalei Bay Resort, Elite Pacific, Gather vacations. We mostly communicated with Gather Vacation who might have been 5 or 6 time zones away and were not that familiar with the property. E.g. it was not 4 bedrooms that we contracted for but 3 bedrooms ands a non private loft with stairs too narrow for me to navigate. I’m 78. The condo was well equipped but the appliances were dated. The refrigerator failed and needed to be replaced which took us more than a day to deal with. And Our fish and steaks and dairy didn’t stay fresh enough to eat Only one side of the toaster functioned. The dishwasher didn’t clean very well. The vacuum cleaner smelled while in use. The washer and dryer in the kitchen were terrific. The resort itself was excellent, the local staff were super helpful. Great views, nice pool. Limited food choices on premises. Nice games and toys AMA boogie boards for kids. Top quality surf for the surfers.

Excellent stay in a beautiful location!

This was the perfect place for our group of 10! The views are spectacular. Plenty of space and privacy for everyone but still good space to hang out as a group!

Loved this property

I cannot express how much we enjoyed this unit. It is in an ideal location with fabulous views. The beach and pool were wonderful. It was a wonderful 70 birthday celebration for me and my family. I cannot wait to return!

Spectacular Views

We stayed at the resort with another family and the condo housed all 11 of us comfortably. The resort grounds were clean and had lots of areas with wonderful views of the ocean and mountains. Easy access to the main road to get to the cutest town of Hanalei and down the coast to other areas. Communication with the management team was great and quick responses. Would definitely recommend staying here!

I can't imagine a better property

This place was awesome. The location is fantastic, with an easy walk to a sandy beach - and an easy drive to Hanalei. Plus, the units had a great view of the bay and birds love to eat right out of your hand.

Hanalei Bay staff needs counseling on how to treat gas properly

The accommodation was lovely except it was on the third floor and my husband is handicapped. I was terribly disappointed that I was not told it was on the third floor although the accommodation was lovely and clean, we will not be staying there again.

Hanalei Paradise

The property is perfectly situated, views of Hanalei Bay and the mountains from the balcony are unparalleled. Sunset from the lawn next to the condo were magnificent from the Adirondack chairs. The condo itself was nice, the kitchen is small but well equipped, bedrooms and beds very comfortable as was the couch. Tables on the balcony are tall so you look over the railings at the gorgeous view. Overall highly recommended.

Beautiful view and gorgeous property

Loved that there were 2 lock offs, so we could stay with a big group. View was unbelievably beautiful. Property was beautiful, but we did not have AC in one room. We were told in advance, but assured we would have window units and fans. Property manager tried to fix it and was very responsive when we managed to reach her. (Recommend calling in order to reach the property manager.) She very quickly replaced a broken coffee maker and left us update notes every time she was on property to address our needs. I would still recommend this property since we do understand that certain items are probably difficult to obtain quickly on an island.

Great location

Excellent location in Princeville. Beautiful sunsets from terrace and pool. Great drinks at Tiki bar. Highly recommend for family vacations especially with adult children. Three adjoining units made for spacious accommodations. Tennis on property and golf nearby (can walk if not carrying clubs).

Too stressful of a process - Rent directly through Hanalei Bay Resorts instead

We were very excited to stay at this VRBO. The pictures made the views look breathtaking and the booking process went well. Unfortunately, once we got to Hawaii everything went downhill. It started with the expectations associated with check-in and went on from there: 1. They sent me a text 2 days prior to arrival asking when I would arrive in Kauai. I mentioned that we would land at 9:30 and planned to drive directly to the resort to check-in. They thanked me for the info so we were surprised that when we arrived, we were told check in was at 3pm. Parrish mentioned the room being cleaned at 11am but we wouldn't be able to check in prior to 3pm. I have no idea why they asked when I would arrive if they were not going to adjust the check-in time. This caused us to waste our 1st day in Kauai 2. When we checked in at 3pm, we got an email that the air conditioning was broken, and a technician would be back to fix the issue at the end of our stay. They did add a noisy temp unit. 3. After check- in we also realized there was no parking near the condo and we needed to walk ~0.3-0.5 miles (based in the parking spot you can find) to the condo with our baggage and each time we wanted to use our car. There is a porter service on golf carts that can be requested, you just need to wait. I didn't see this long walk mentioned in the description. 4. The noisy temp unit stopped working Wednesday night. Parrish mentioned the air conditioning tech would be on site in 2 days and we would have to wait. So, I needed to watch you tube videos to figure out how to get the air conditioning unit running. 5. other small issues- they mentioned offering beach towels but they are the resort pool towels. Also, there is no snorkeling gear which was included in other VRBOs that we stayed in, I did mention the concerns above, but the Parrish reps would just argue that it wasn't their issue and I just needed to deal with inconveniences. They offered no solutions and had no compassion. The experience left me frustrated which wasn't the plan for a vacation to Kauai.

Paradise found!

This property at Hanalei Bay Resort is spectacular! It has an incredible view, has an outstanding location inside the actual resort, besides access to the beach and the quiet area of Princeville on the island. All of the ammenities were wonderful and the rooms were so clean, large, and beautiful for our family of ten which included adults and children. It was a dream vacation.

We took all 3 units together for a week long family trip. This is a beautiful property with one of the best views oh Hanalei Bay and the mountains you'll ever have. The unit is we'll equipped with everything you need to enjoy an incomparable vacation on the best location in all of the Hawaiian Islands.

As beautiful as pictured!

Very beautiful property. The view is amazing!!!! Just as described. Unit has a ton of towels and lots of toiletries, lots of beach toys, etc. Comfy beds. Beautiful unit/resort. Shout out to the front desk manager (she may be from Brazil) so kind and extremely helpful.

Perfect North Shore location

We rented the whole unit which was perfect for our family (3 kids, 5 adults). The amenities are excellent. Great pool!! The lanai is amazing with a fabulous view of Hanalei Bay. We will definitely stay here again when back on the North shore. Highly recommended!!!

Great place for a family reunion.

Thank you. The unit worked great for my mother’s 80th birthday where we celebrated with her children and grandchildren. The only negative was the check-in process. I will chalk it up to a single individual, but there was a lot of highlighting of restrictions and penalties. They are somewhat typical, but this individual made it less comfortable than it should have been.

A True Gem

This was a perfect view. Breathtaking views of Hanalei and the surrounding mountains. I've been a lot of places and I can think of very few balconies with a more stunning setting. I think they under-sell it. Unit was very clean. We really appreciated the access to the pool and tennis courts, along with the cool walk down to the near private beach. The owner is very responsive and easy to work with. Can't wait to go again.

Loved the unit!

It rained nearly the entire time we were there which is just a case of bad luck. We really loved the unit though. There were a few quirks that were being fixed while we were there but that didn't bother us. They were right on it and very polite about everything. My only real complaint was that one of the bedrooms which could be its own unit had a difficult time staying closed. The door kept opening back up but it wasn't a big deal. The walls are pretty thin there but we just turned on a sounds machine of white noise and all was well. The resort is really beautiful and well maintained. Check in was a breeze and once we figured out the layout it was easy to get around. The beach was also the best beach we've ever been to especially for kids. Trees for shade, a creek and calm water. If we go to princeville again I would definitely stay here in a heartbeat.

Amazing place!

Everything was perfect except for checkin. It took 15 minutes because the front desk didn’t have the reservation. It’s a good thing we had an email confirmation and our paperwork. Otherwise, the condo was absolutely perfect. And the owner even let us borrow a high chair and pack n play. This is the most beautiful area on Kauai and the resort has a wonderful pool for kids! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Gorgeous spot. Clean and we had everything we needed. Views and proximity were terrific.

We used the pool, tennis courts, and beach. The golf cart staff were very helpful transporting luggage to the unit. We didn't make it into the restaurant or pool bars because were out and about so much, and because we cooked in for come meals. Great family spot- we really enjoyed it!
