I had the pleasure of staying at the Ramada Hotel in Prince George BC. The staff were respectfull and pleasant to deal with. The large rooms and the hotel as a whole are very well designed and finished. Be sure to close the bathroom barn door all the way or you may not turn on the switchable privacy glass. Gave my spouse a good laugh about that. Anyway, the hotel is well located with plenty of good and different restaurants nearby. Try the recently opened Cross Roads brewery pub just across the street. The food and beer are great. I had the BC crab melt with coconut tomato soup and a salad, yum!
Last week I found myself in Prince George, in need of a place to stay after a friend had unexpectedly passed away in the local hospital. Prince George was also filling up with evacuees from the many forest fires in BC. I called the Ramada at close to midnight not really expecting they would have any vacancies. Andrew answered the phone and asked if I needed a room for business or pleasure. When I explained my circumstances, he said come on over. He booked my into a great room at a great price, saw to my needs, than came around the front counter to offer a hug too - seeing I could use one. His colleague and I am sorry I don't recall her name, met me after I parked my vehicle with another hug, and let me know if I needed anything through the night - a cup or tea, or anything else, to just call down and they would bring it to me. So the room was great, but the compassionate welcome was simply amazing. It helped make a terrible day just a bit better. Thank you Ramada Prince George, and Andrew and your colleague that night.
Arranged at last minute and pleasantly surprised at the value for money. The staff were extremely helpful, the rooms exceptional and modern. Loved the large shower and facilities. Car parking available at multi story park opposite, room key gets you access to the car park which is quite secure. Would gladly stay here again when travelling this way.
Best hotel we stayed in while in Canada. Large clean modern rooms. Good restaurant and in a great location for downtown yet only a couple of minutes of the main highway. Free enclosed parking across the road.
Hotel located in downtown and its a bit sketchy. The lobby is nice a spacious. Good customer service at check-in...very friendly valet. I payed extra to have a nicer room with a jacuzzi. Jacuzzi was super load, not relaxing at all. Room located in old part of the building that smells weird, its old and dodgy. Starbucks located conveniently in the lobby. It could have been worse but for the money I was expecting more.
Rooms were well fitted out with nice barhrooms and furniture. Good environmental program in this hotel. Recycle bin in room no plastic bin liners. Could not find facial tissues in room ? Rest of hotel seems a bit older but fitted the purpose of my one night stay. Adjoining business Cornerstone cafe had good food plus a Starbucks inside. Friendly helful staff. Wifi extremely slow
My husband and I stayed the night of July 5. When we check in we were informed the Internet and television would be off. There was no service from Kamloops North. No apologies, no let's buy you a cup of coffee, very cold response from the front desk staff. I understand the frustration of having to explain that to all the guest checking in but it could've been handled much differently. The next morning both the Wi-Fi and TV were back on. But my big complaint........... The hotel took a $50 deposit on my husbands credit card on July 5 and as of today we sill don't have a credit. As we did not use any services. I know being a visa merchant in a former business anyone needing a deposit can "hold" the 50.00 deposit and if there are no charges after 48 hrs the funds are off hold. They don't go on to the card. I wonder how many people miss questioning the 50.00 and this becomes a cash grab for the hotel Shame on you Ramada!
Room was nice but terrible service. Wifi sucks and the tv shut it self off. Sometimes you can't even watch anything. At the Restaurant next door Service was 10 times better! Friendly staff. At ramada not so much. understaffed at the front desk. Half of the time they don't even answer the phone. Room service was unable to provide an bottle opener-one bottle opener! Had to wait for 30 min. After 2 phone calls and no help decided to go down and get it my self. The restaurant next door provided one. Sorry I thought a hotel was here to serve what ever you need!? No? Terrible service. Maybe people at this hotel doesn't like working or understand what they are suppose to do? I won't be staying here again. Starbucks personal was nice and friendly-saved the morning.
With the hotel downtown it had great security for staying in the hotel, the garage was also had great security. It seems the hotel was renovated and very nice. There is a Starbucks in the hotel as well as a restaurant and pub.
