Room was good size and adequate for overnight stay, but generally it was tired and needing some repairs. Tv wasn't working and there was no remote control in the room, balcony was dirty, covered in birds poo, shower rail in the shower coming off the wall, bathroom mirror light didn't work and bathroom ceiling light hanging off the ceiling. Also very few sockets in the room. Good location for city centre and main rail station. Overall, the maintenance standard was disappointing for a 4* hotel.

This is a very good cheap option for staying in Prague. If you're there for the city centre, there is a door to door tram service which takes about 20 minutes to the centre. If you are there for the Congress Centre, it's ten minutes' walk away. The hotel was clean, my room was very spacious and fresh, and the staff were helpful. The hotel does not offer any catering, and the only downside is that the bar/restaurant which shares the site and is supposed to function as the breakfast and dining option, keeps erratic opening hours. It is great when it is open, but do not rely on it being open at the advertised hours. There is a fridge in the rooms and a Lidl five minutes away, so nobody needs to starve.

Hotel Union, Prague

First impression was of a nice good quality old style hotel. Service at the desk was very friendly, polite and efficient. The room was wonderful, new bathroom, powerful shower and daily shampoo\gel. Towels are changed if left on floor. Bed was extremely supportive and comfortable. Breakfast was brilliant, different things to try, all delicious. Best porridge ever. Hotel near for trams. Restaurant was closed during our stay. Trains and trams are noisy but Lidl nearby for a little something to help you sleep. Tram stop outside the hotel to connect to the centre, about 10 minutes and the A Metro/119 bus to the airport, about 1 hour.

A great place to stay, in Prague

I just came back from Prague, where I and my wife stayed at this excellent hotel, for 5 nights, from September 20 to 25, 2019. This is a great hotel, in every aspect. We were so lucky (and/or smart…) to have chosen it, while there were so may other choices. It made our whole trip totally enjoyable. (Btw, we also like Hotels.com very much.)
